Becoming a Russian Oligarch After Rebirth
Chapter 113 New Market_1

Chapter 113: Chapter 113 New Market_1

It was second day back in Moscow, on April 18th.

When Wang Ye woke up in the morning, Angelina was still fast asleep, probably worn out from yesterday...

He checked the time, it was already past ten in the morning.

Without disturbing her, he quietly got out of bed and dressed.

After freshening up, Wang Ye made himself a breakfast of two pieces of toast, two fried eggs, and a couple of slices of bacon.

He then opened the fridge, poured a box of yogurt into a cup.

This was his breakfast.

While eating, Wang Ye made a phone call.

"Brother Liu, are you at the company? ...Uh, you should have the Chinese Newspaper there, could you look up any adverts for the New Sun Market..."

It was already nearing the end of April, and based on Wang Ye’s observation a few days ago, the new container market had been completed and probably entered the leasing phase.

He had had his eye on it. His next big money-making scheme was going to hinge on this market!

Whether it was selling phone cards or running a study abroad agency, those were considered small businesses. If he wanted to make the big bucks, it all depended on this market...

"I’m here, wait a moment, let me find it..."

There were sounds of footsteps and shuffling papers from the phone. After a couple of minutes, Liu Jun said, "Found it. They’ve put ads all over the first two pages of the paper. They really spared no expense. What are you looking for this for?"

Wang Ye chuckled without answering, but asked, "There should be a contact number, look for the mobile number of the person in charge, and let me know."

After a few more seconds, Liu Jun reported back a string of phone numbers, Wang Ye jotted them down as he listened.

After giving him the phone number, Liu Jun voiced his concern, "You’re not thinking of doing business in the new market, are you? I ought to warn you, getting a business going in a wholesale market takes at least a year or two. If you jump in now, you could go bankrupt!"

Having lived in Moscow for so many years, he knew a lot about the big markets. He gave the word of caution out of concern Wang Ye might get in over his head without understanding the facts, and ultimately lose money.

Wang Ye just laughed, "I am not going in with that mind, doing wholesale is too much hard work and trouble, making money would be hard."

After hearing his response, Liu Jun finally relaxed and asked, "Are you coming to the company today? We’ve almost finished preparations over at the phone card company, even rented an office on the same floor, I am getting people over for renovation."

Wang Ye thought for a moment, "I might swing by in the afternoon."

...

After hanging up, Wang Ye put down his cutlery and drained the cup of yogurt.

After a moment’s thought, he dialed the mobile number.

"Hello, is this Mr. Kong? I was thinking about how sales at the New Sun Market are going..."

"Hello, are you interested in buying some shops? I can have a staff member provide you with a detailed introduction," President Kong politely replied over the phone.

"I might buy quite a few. Are the staff empowered to make decisions?" Wang Ye asked, in his usual cool manner.

There was a brief pause on the phone, then President Kong’s voice adopted an even warmer tone, "Ha ha, that would be most welcome! If you plan to buy quite a few shops, we would love to welcome you to the market for a face-to-face chat. I can even personally show you around the new market. We believe both the market environment and the prices will surely satisfy you!"

This President Kong was the so-called "Richest Chinese in Moscow," Big Head Kong, that Wang Ye had met when he had first come to Moscow and went shopping at the Big Market!

Of course, Wang Ye knew who he was, but he didn’t know who Wang Ye was...

"Alright then. I’ll come over after lunch, is it the red building of the market management office?" Wang Ye said.

"Yeah, right there. When you get here, just tell the security guards you have an appointment with me, they’ll escort you up. May I have your name?" Big Head Kong asked eagerly.

"Ye, as in ’business’, first name Wang."

"Ha ha, Manager Wang, see you this afternoon!"

...

After hanging up, Angelina walked out of the bedroom.

She seemed not completely awake as she rubbed her sleepy eyes and asked, "Ah, it’s already afternoon, why didn’t you wake me up when you got out of bed?"

Wang Ye came forward with a smile, pulled her into his arms, planted a couple of kisses on her cheeks and said, "You were sleeping so soundly, I didn’t want to wake you up. You went to bed very late last night."

Angelina gave Wang Ye an annoyed look, "That’s your fault!"

Why she blamed him for her late bedtime, well... only the two of them could tell...

"By the way, I won’t be here for lunch, I have to run an errand. You look after yourself, have your lunch and take a nap in the afternoon. We have nothing planned later." Wang Ye said casually.

"No way, I have to go to work, I’ve been employed for so long but hardly gone into the office." Angelina replied.

Speaking of work, she was somewhat embarrassed.

In name, she was already an employee at Qingyun Study Abroad Service Company, but in reality, she had not spent a day in office.

She originally said that after the domestic Study Abroad Promotion Conference, she would officially start to work, but then she took a trip back home...

If Wang Ye weren’t the boss of the company, such an employee would have been fired a long time ago!

"Well in that case, I happen to be passing by the company when I am out, I can drop you there." Wang Ye did not stop her.

...

Around 12:30 pm, the two set off in the car.

They first arrived at the Alpha Hotel, where Wang Ye dropped Angelina off for work, then he headed towards the Big Market.

The difference between this and his visit three months ago was striking.

The fences around the construction site had been taken down. Modern rows of container markets stood side by side, with a vast, neatly organized parking lot next to them.

But, the market was eerily desolate with hardly any people around.

Whereas, the old market across the street was bustling, teeming with people and cars.

Wang Ye took a slow roundabout drive around the New Sun Supermarket, carefully observing the surrounding area and making mental notes.

He then parked the car in the lot near the Little Red Building of the Market Management Office.

He didn’t rush off to meet Big Head Kong though. He decided to walk around for a while instead.

The new market was huge!

It was divided into thirty-five streets, each with a hundred combined stalls on each side!

Together, there were three thousand and five hundred stalls in the entire market...

Moreover, unlike the crowded and cramped old Sun Market, each street in this market had a wide central pathway. Red cement bricks smoothly paved the streets.

Each stall was essentially two large containers stacked together, the top one could serve as a warehouse, and the one on the ground was for sales. It was very practical and convenient.

Additionally, the pathways were sheltered by transparent steel and glass canopies, ensuring neither rain nor wind would disrupt businesses.

In terms of the environment and location, it was far superior to the old Sun Market!

Unfortunately, right now, he could hardly see any open shops, it was a desolate scene...
