Becoming a Russian Oligarch After Rebirth
Chapter 1087 - 944: Polar Reversal

Chapter 1087: Chapter 944: Polar Reversal

Standing beside the small podium, Dania took a deep breath and adjusted her mood.

This was her first time speaking at such an event, and it was especially daunting considering that the audience consisted of the esteemed Duma members...

Yet, she didn’t suffer from stage fright. The bigger the stages, the calmer she actually became, even feeling a bit excited.

Perhaps it was innate, inherently suited for big occasions...

First, she turned and bowed to the four Vice Speakers on the main platform, then bowed to the members below the stage, before beginning her narrative.

As a representative of the Joint Working Group, her speech today naturally focused on why the dismissal process for Luzhikov was initiated, detailing the specific reasons and the necessity of this process.

Concerning Luzhikov’s alleged crimes, Dania didn’t elaborate much, merely mentioning "corruption and forming cliques," which completely betrayed the initial trust and expectations of the voters!

Then, she thoroughly explained that under Luzhikov’s leadership, although Moscow’s development appeared rapid at a glance, it severely mismatched the resources the country provided to Moscow!

In other words, Moscow’s development should have been much better than it was!

Thus, Luzhikov’s successive years as Governor had not only failed to achieve any real political accomplishments but had also hindered Moscow’s development...

It was not digressing from the topic, as the Joint Working Group, although established due to several whistleblowing letters, was not merely responsible for the corruption investigation. Instead, it also encompassed the duty of thoroughly investigating the entire bureaucratic system of Moscow State, otherwise, there would be no need to involve so many departments in the joint group.

The Duma already had the duty to supervise the work of government departments.

And the State Government? That too was part of government institutions...

Of course, Dania’s purpose in discussing how Luzhikov hindered the development of Moscow State was to garner the support votes of the members below.

At the same time, she was well aware that her speech was just a formality and could hardly influence the voting outcome, as the real results were probably decided before the meeting even started!

The competition below had likely already determined the winner, and today’s vote was merely a display of the outcome.

It was uncertain whether her boss was genuinely confident or entirely indifferent to the results.

......

After Dania’s speech, Grezlov didn’t delay, leaning over to whisper something to Wang Ye and a few Vice Speakers, suggesting that if they had nothing to add, they should start the vote immediately, as he had nothing more to say himself.

Before Wang Ye could respond, Kornov jumped in, saying, "I have a suggestion. To ensure that all members treat this vote with care, we should vote sequentially by seating area, starting with the first area, tallying the results, and then moving on to the second, third, and fourth areas..."

Kornov’s true intention was to have Faction members vote separately!

In the Duma hall, there were four major areas in total: The first area was entirely occupied by the Krakow Group members, the second by the Wang Ye Faction members, and naturally, the third by the Rilinov Faction members.

Meanwhile, the Moscow Faction and the remaining Minor factions occupied the seats in the fourth area!

So, hearing Kornov’s proposal, Grezlov was visibly taken aback, then his expression turned somber.

Clearly, he had a rough idea why Kornov made such a suggestion.

Obviously, that guy had secured some of the Krakow Group members. Now, letting the Krakow Group vote first was to clearly show everyone, which was also putting him in a bad light!

Grezlov knew about Kornov approaching his Faction’s core members yesterday but hadn’t privately inquired what they discussed.

Because he didn’t need to ask to know what was discussed, but whether those members reached any deals with Kornov was something he couldn’t ask!

After all, this issue had nothing to do with the Hilarwick Group and was merely a struggle between Mikhail and the Moscow Faction.

Even though he got along well with Mikhail personally, he could only support him personally, not lead the entire Faction to support Mikhail.

After all, the Hilarwick Group had a huge influence, but the Faction was complicated internally, and no one could fully control this huge power, even the current Kremlin was just a representative put forward by this interest Group...

......

Grezlov looked towards Wang Ye, seeking his opinion on whether to agree with Kornov’s proposal.

Wang Ye, with a calm expression, slightly nodded and said, "I have no objections."

Rilinov frowned but said nothing further.

Since even Wang Ye did not oppose, Grezlov had no grounds to object either, so he nodded to Kornov and said, "Then let’s do as you suggest!"

Rapping his small gavel once more, Grezlov solemnly announced the voting rules and reminded the members below, "Please take your vote seriously!"

"Now, the members from the first area, please cast your votes!"

Following Grezlov’s loud announcement, all eyes in the hall turned towards the members in the first area.
