Chapter 43: Chapter 42:Caring

Bella’s pov

"The girl" The cornelia of a woman mutters with a tone of distaste while eyeing me.

Hope her eyes fall down.

I pass her a look of my own

After the brief introduction, I don’t bother starring at her and make my way to sit beside Raffaele on the opposite couch of which they are now facing us.

The man’s gaze for some odd reason looks sinister and there is a wicked feel to his eyes.

I shrugg it away and a smile makes its way to my face when Raffaele suddenly hands me his phone.

Thank God I don’t have to focus on corn’s annoying voice.

I’ll stick to callling the pole a corn tho I like corns.

I start using the phone and immediately I download a novel reading app and immense myself in ready the book.

The book actually has a good plot and all but suddebly a sentence of Corn’s has my ear pecking.

"The marriage alliance will benefot both families Raffaele" She says with a seductive glimmer in her eyes as she stares at him.

The glare on don’s face does the job of shutting her off briefly.

"I’ll say it again Cornelia, there is no need for marriage alliance as I have the woman I want to marry. My queen and it’s Mr Vincenti to you and everybody else I do business with" Raffaele says with an awefully calm voice and that sinister glare of his.

I could swear her brother is busy squirnming on the chair and from how tight his face is one would think he is constipated.

I almost pity them.

Cornelia seems offended but the woman is not ready to give up as she passes him a smile that can only be called creepy.

The other partner who looks like the creep of the creeps is busy starring at me and occasionally has this stupid smile that makes me shift closer to Raffaele.

I know Raffaele id scary.

But scary is better than a pervert.

Raffaele looks pleased that I have shifted closer to him and he wraps an arm around me, pulling me closer which I don’t mind all because of this creep.

All because of the creep

"Our father propposed the neef for a marriage alliance Raffaele as he is sick and he has promised after that, half of our business will be yours while half will remain with me as I am his son" Cornialia’s brother says and I almost roll my eyes at how unintelligent he sounds.

Who would agree to give half their wealth to another.

"We both know that is stupid besides you can go out there and I am sure there are other mafia men out there ready to embrace these conditions" Raffaele states his tone dismissive.

Cornelia and her brother looks like they have been punched and they sit down and try again to convince him to which he just remains silent.

He doesn’t reply to their words abd instead just looks at them like they are fools or rather kids who have no idea what they are doing.

"You can have the woman beside you as a mis-"He doesn’t get to finish his words neither does he see what is coming next as the next thing that happens makes a gasp to escape my lips.

With a strength so unbelieveable, Raffaele uses his hands to raise the glass table and the next thing is the sound of glass shattering as it collides with the man sitting just opposite us.

His sister, Cornelia lets out an ear piercing scream and quickly stands up, moving away from her brother who is now unconcious with blood streaming down from either his face or neck or even head.I don’t even realise that the sound that escapes my lips is mine as I scream out in shock.

Thankfully just then, the door opens and Nathan along with Emilia enter the house with smiles on their faces that soon dies down when they see the scene in front of them.

"Shit" Nathan mutters and I thought he is in shock till the man points at Cornelia’s brother and starts laughing.

His wife glares at him before hitting his shoulder and it is obly then he straightens himself after clearing his throat.

"Uhh, how did tjis happen?" Nathan questions while they both round the place to come stand beside me.

Emilia has my hand in hers as we all stare at the scene still in shock.

Men run into the mansion all with guns in hand and stoic faces, though there were soke who witnessed the scene but remained rooted, these ones are from outside.

"Don" Rven the men sound shocked but the fear in their voices are unmistable.

"Take them out now" Nathan suddenly whispers, his voice turning serious and that is when I realise he has been starring at a motionless Raffaele.

Looking closer at Raffaele, I realise that he is practically shaking in his spot with his hands clenched in fists.

Watching the way he is shaking I can already sense that there is something wrong and my thoughts are confirmed when he bends to pick a shard of glass before stepping all over Cornelia’s unconcious brother and going to her.

In a matter of seconds, he has his fingers wrapped around her throat and the glass pressed against her neck.

"I dare you to say that about my beloved again" His voice doesn’t sound like his, heck it is deeper ajd scarier and his veins start making themselves more prominent.

Cornelia’s eyes are buldged out in fear and her own figure is practically shaking from fear with a pale face and trembling lips.

Nathan marches towards him.

"Raffaele" Nathan calls out and the glare he sends his way is enough to make any grown ass man tremble.

Nathan places his hand on Raffaele’s shoulder only to receive a growl in return.

"Don’t touch me" Raffaele growls.

"Let me try" I say to Emilia who has her eyes widened in fear.

Heck even the men standing there with bulky bodies and gun have refused to move forward and just stare at the man like he is some beast.

That he is

"Are you insame" Emila says pulling my body closer to hers

"I-I want to help, he’ll kill her" I say gesturing to Cornelia whose face is getting paler.

Sge contemplates before letting me go ehile I sprint to his direction before hugging him from the back.

"Raffaele" I call out using my arms wrapped around him to rub his body, though I have absolutely no idea what I am doing and I am actually scared shitless if it will work.

"Please calm down" Slowly, gis body stops being tense and I can feel his muscles relaxing which makes a breathe of relief to escape me.

"Bella" Raffaele calls out and I give a positive reply to that.

His hold gets released from her neck and soon he is turning to face me.

He doesn’t say anything and instead pulls me into a hug.

"We need to get him upstairs" Nathan says and I nod my had before leading the reluctant man upstairs.

I pass him the drugs as Nathan has instructed and I stay till he is asleep.

Remembering my talk with Emilia and Nathan, I cannot help but think about what they had told me tho Raffaele had called them ’Bad influence’ .

He is also one with all the things he keeps saying and how his hand cannot keep to themself but I dont think he notices that part.

Sighing in great relief, I turn to face the other side of the bed to look at don who is surprisingly sleeping and not starring at me like a creep.

I lay down on the bed taking in the man’s innocent features tho he is anything but that.

I lean closer to his face out of curiousity, trying to find any imperfection on his face but I am greeted by none.

A started shriek escapes my lips when he suddenly opens his eyes, his green orbs heavy and looking seductive. I could swear I almost had a heart attack.

"I could wake up to this everyday" He says, his morning voice deeper and raspier than usual "Though I’d prefer being buried deep inside you" He says it so casually that my eyes widen at his words and I find myself couching, choking on my own saliva..

"Careful baby" Raffaele says drawing me closer to his body to start rubbing my back which I greatly appreciate.

After feeling his hands start to wander, I quickly pull away from him which makes a small smile to appear on his face.

"G-Good morning" I greet starring into his green orbs that looks like it is drawing me in.

He stares right back, with a confident gaze as his eyes move from mine and settle on my lips before moving downwards to what I expect is my cleavage as I am busy wearing his shirt.

"Morning baby, now come here" I don’t have time to react before I am being drawn into his arms and his lips are on mine in seconds
