Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Snatching

"If you want to take it back for research, you can, as long as you pay for it," the young man standing next to the farmer said directly.

"Who are you?" Qin Wanting’s eyes shifted to the young man.

"My dad found this stone, and I’m the one who posted it online," the young man explained.

"How much do you want for it? I’m willing to buy it," Qin Wanting responded.

"One hundred thousand!" After thinking briefly, the young man blurted out the price. The farmer was taken aback, about to say something, but his son stopped him.

Qin Wanting didn’t hesitate at all, saying, "Alright, one hundred thousand it is."

"I’ll pay three hundred thousand for it," suddenly, a rich-looking, rotund middle-aged man butted in, with a bag under his arm and a gold watch on his wrist.

"Our Mo Group will offer one million for that stone," another voice suddenly interjected, breaking the silence as Mo Shaocong and Mo Shumei walked in.

Observing the pair, Xiao Yifeng at the side let a faint smile play at the corners of his mouth; and as if there was some psychic connection, Mo Shumei locked eyes with him almost immediately, blinking her eyelashes and revealing a charming smile.

"Young Master Mo, Miss Mo, are you also interested in this stone?" Qin Wanting inquired, turning her gaze toward them.

"Our Mo’s main business is in jewels and antiques; naturally, we are interested in such exotic treasures. Miss Qin wouldn’t mind, would she?" Mo Shumei said with a smile while looking at Qin Wanting.

"Of course not, if Mo’s wants it I won’t compete. However, I hope you can let my grandfather study this stone, to ascertain the origins of this blood-colored stone," she replied.

"I’m sorry, Miss Qin, but only my foster father can make that decision," Mo Shaocong said with a smile.

Qin Wanting’s brows furrowed slightly, but she said nothing.

"So, are you going to sell it for one million?" Mo Shaocong’s gaze turned to the farmer and his son.

At this moment, the father and son were stunned by the million offered; they had never imagined that the stone, whose origins they knew nothing of, could be worth a million.

"Sell, of course we’ll sell," the farmer’s son was the first to react, ecstatically speaking while feeling like they had struck a great deal.

But what he didn’t know was that if some powerful experts and forces were to learn about this stone, even ten million might be possible to fetch for it.

Mo Shaocong transferred the million to the young man on the spot. When the latter received the SMS notification from the bank and saw those countless zeros, he nearly passed out.

Mo Shaocong and Mo Shumei then took the blood-colored stone away, and the reporters and experts present naturally dispersed.

"Miss Qin!"

At this time, Xiao Yifeng approached Qin Wanting.

"Mr. Xiao, it’s you, what brings you here? Don’t tell me you also came to see that stone?" Qin Wanting said somewhat surprised as she looked at Xiao Yifeng.

"Yeah, I saw the news and got curious, so I came over."

"It seems Mr. Xiao is quite the connoisseur when it comes to antiques and exotic treasures," Qin Wanting said, recalling Xiao Yifeng’s performance at the Treasure Trove Pavilion.

"Far from it, it was just a fluke," Xiao Yifeng said with a laugh.

"It’s a pity we didn’t get that stone; my grandfather would have been very interested," Qin Wanting’s eyes revealed a trace of disappointment.

Xiao Yifeng’s eyes flashed with a mysterious look and said, "Actually, Miss Qin not getting that blood-colored stone might not be a bad thing. It also avoids a disaster."

"What do you mean?" Qin Wanting asked, clearly puzzled.

Xiao Yifeng did not answer but turned to the farmer and asked, "Sir, may I ask where you found this stone?"

"Oh, it was dug up in the mountain next to our village," the farmer replied, pointing to the large mountain that backed the small village.

Xiao Yifeng’s gaze swept towards the lush mountain, his pupils flickering with a blue light. Suddenly, his brows tightened, scanning a certain area, his pupils flashing with a hint of surprise.

"What are you looking at?" Qin Wanting curiously eyed Xiao Yifeng.

"Oh, nothing. Miss Qin, I have some other matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave," Xiao Yifeng replied, then left the yard.

After leaving the yard, Xiao Yifeng once again cast a thoughtful glance over the whole of Dalang Village, then at the mountain, before leaving the place.

On a small path leaving Dalang Village, Mo Shaocong was driving a black Range Rover with Mo Shumei sitting in the passenger seat, toying with the stone in her hand.

"I always feel like this stone has some sort of strange power," Mo Shumei said, gazing at the blood-colored stone.

"Since the stone is wanted by the higher-ups, it naturally won’t be just any ordinary stone," Mo Shaocong said calmly, his expression suddenly becoming tense.

"Not good, we’re in danger."

Mo Shaocong suddenly shouted, as a dagger pierced through the windshield of the Range Rover, coming at them with force. Both Mo Shaocong and Mo Shumei’s expressions changed, and they directly bolted out of the car, their gazes sweeping forward.

Four men in black robes, exuding a cold aura, appeared before them, their gazes fixedly on the two, or rather on the blood-colored stone in Mo Shumei’s hand.

"Who are you?" Mo Shaocong’s eyes were fixed on the four men, his expression solemn as he spoke.

"Kill!" The four men shouted in unison, charging towards Mo Shumei.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The next second, several more figures rushed out, a total of five, with four wearing silver masks and one in a gold mask, all clothed in black capes, each dressed as peculiarly as the others.

"Greetings, my lord!"

Upon seeing the man with the golden mask, Mo Shaocong and Mo Shumei promptly greeted him with respect.

"Take the stone and leave," the man with the golden mask said coldly.

"Think you can leave? No way!"

Another cold voice arose from behind the four black-robed men, as a middle-aged man in a black robe emerged, his body emanating a chilling aura.

"Little Wu, Little Liu, go take the item," the middle-aged man said coldly, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. He then burst forward with unimaginable speed, throwing a punch that carried a frightening might.

The man with the golden mask threw a punch as well, and their attacks collided, unleashing an invisible shockwave. Both men were forced back several steps, and at this point, the two sides had already begun their clash.

The remaining four black-robed men split up, two charging at Mo Shumei, while the two others unleashed their formidable strength, managing to block the four clad in black capes and silver masks single-handedly.
