Chapter 97: Be Yourself

Beau didn’t quite understand what she meant, and he only looked at her eyes near him with his heart beating strongly.

"Silly whale.." She giggles and then pulls him to kiss his lips.

He is surprised at first, not actually believing.

"Why are you so confused? I think it was obvious I have feelings for you too."

"Really?"

"I said with all the words back in the Mermen Tribe. And I said that I don’t joke about that."

"Oh.. I guess I just didn’t believe it was true. I’m sorry. I’m an idiot. I don’t deserve.."

She interrupts him with another kiss and he’s impressed again. Her lips are so sweet and soft that it made him melt slowly. He holds her face and deepens the kiss, still not believing it is possible for something to feel so good like that.

"You deserve anything you want, Beau. I’ll make you remember that everyday." She says when they stop to breathe.

He smiles and nods, holding her face close to him. She hugs him and they fall on the ground, they giggle like two silly teenagers. Astri is impressed that she can feel like this differently with all her spouses. Beastmen are really built differently.

"I never thought I would have a spouse. I promise I’ll pay more attention and learn to be a better male for you." He says, passing his hand on her face, while they’re laid on the ground.

"Just be yourself all the way. You’re amazing, Beau. You just have to believe in that." She affirms.

He smiles and carries her, then he sits putting her on his lap.

"You’re so good to hold.. to feel." He says hugging her waist.

They kiss again and he’s feeling that he’s getting himself addicted. His skin is warm and his muscles are strong. His skin is almost pale as hers and she can also feel his not so little at all friend signing up.

They hear someone walking and when they look at who it was, it is Hawa and he had a shocked face when he spotted them hugging.

"Well.. Hello." Hawa says, thundershocked.

"Hawa. I have something to tell you and the others." Beau speaks.

"I think I already know what you wanted to say. Congratulations, my friend. I’m happy for you." Hawa smiles.

Beau smiles, grateful.

"It’s not actually only that." Beau says, smiling.

"What is it then?"

"I’ll be leaving with her. I had quit my position as Captain." His answer impressed Hawa. "And I suggested to the Kings for you, Shan or Ferd, to be in my place."

"Really?.. I don’t know if I’m sad or happy now. You will leave with the Goddess? You’re the best for the position of Captain. That’s why you were Captain for so many years." Hawa speaks.

"But I won’t be here anymore. When Astri leave, I’ll go too. You will come to accompany us and bring the ships back, but I’ll stay with her."

"Wow.. I’m happy, but sad. Sorry." Hawa says with a little smile.

"It’s not a forever good bye, Hawa. You’re my friend too. I wouldn’t be this evil." Astri says, making them chuckle.

"I know. I’m so used with Beau that is a little hard thinking he won’t be with us, but I’m happy for him because I never saw him this happy before." Hawa says.

Beau and Astri stand up. Beau holds Hawa’s shoulder.

"Thank you. I’m sure you will be fine. I trained all of you to be the bests." Beau affirms.

They say good night, then Beau and Astri starts walking to her chambers again holding hands. Astri held his hand and he’s delighted, because he only saw her doing that with her spouses.

"I’m actually a bit nervous to face your spouses.." He admits, she giggles.

Beau opens the door and let her go inside. The cubs were sleeping, but Astri’s spouses were pretty much awake. Astri walked forward, actually imagining her spouses would attack her for getting one more spouse since she said she didn’t want anymore.

However, they smiled at her and welcomed her warmly.

"Go sleep, love. It’s late. We will talk to Beau." Wayde says, passing his hand on her head.

She nods smiling for them and obeys. She goes to bed and they call Beau outside to talk. They sit around a private room to talk, because they will talk about things that are secret to everyone.

"We have to welcome you to the family, then." Claud says.

"We have some rules between us and you should know about them to avoid fighting. Astri hates when we fight and, as you know, she can be pretty hard on us when she’s angry." Lee speaks.

"All right... I’m impressed that you’re welcoming me this way. Thank you." Beau says.

"It’s not because of you. We know Astri only accepts males she really likes, and she talked to us about you before. We were only waiting and watching you to decide." Zin says.

"And wanting or not, you’re more powerful than all of them. It’s always good having strong males to protect Astri." Claud points at the others, and Beau nods.

"First, how the pregnancy for whales work? That’s what is taking my sleep away. I can’t imagine a little female like Astri having a whale in her belly." Lee asks.

Beau smiles, actually imagining her pregnant of him.

"Pregnancy for whales is different. We are not born in beast form. We shift when we’re older. Only one baby at a time too." Beau explains.

"Like unicorns. Nature is perfect." Claud says.

"Now I can sleep." Lee sighs more relieved. "Wayde is the first spouse. I’m the second. Zin, the third. Cyprian is the fourth. Claud, the fifth." Lee explains all rules to Beau, who listens carefully.

He’s actually impressed too with how organized they try to be.

"We do this because, as you might have already noticed, Astri is a completely different female and she gives us love all the time. She is cute, loving, sexy, anything for us because she loves us and we need to be grateful for that. That’s why it’s so important to keep thing fine between us." Cyprian speaks.

"A friendly advice. Lee starts most of fights. Be careful with feeding his crazy ideas." Zin says.

"You, shut up." Lee retorts.

They welcome Beau to sleep with them, after changing the sleeping routine schedule. Since it’s the first time he will be sleeping together with them, Cyprian accepts exchanging and letting Beau sleep near her with Claud.

Beau watched her sleeping for a long time until he fell asleep feeling the greatest energy he ever felt.

In the morning, he wakes up and is surprised to see Astri only with a tube top and skirt, standing next to the windows.

She tied her hair in a ponytail and she’s watching the boys running outside. He’s fascinated that such a beautiful and strong female accepted him. He looks at her beast mark, and he never saw a beast mark that big.

He stands up and walks to her.

"Good morning, handsome. Did you sleep well?" She asks him.

Her smile warmed him more than the weather.

"Yes.. I think I never slept so well in my life." He answers, smiling too.

"We could notice." Claud smiles.

Beau looks at her beast mark again and her spousal marks, confirming what she said that they have the same color as her beastmark.

"You once told me that your spousal beast marks react to the touch of your spouses. How is that?" Beau asks her.

Claud touches his spousal mark at the end of her back, making it grow brighter and almost shining. Beau is impressed, but he wonders how his mark will shine on her.

"That’s why I wear winter clothes all the time. But it’s a bit hot now. No one can see from outside if I stay like this." She says, watching her cubs.

"Maybe we should make bigger windows in our castle for you to watch the cubs playing more." Claud smiles, passing his hand on her back.

"It would be nice, but maybe it would be colder during winter." She says.

"It’s true. Cold seasons there are long. We can’t risk you getting sick."

They hear the door knocking and Beau goes open it. Then he’s faced with Shan, who got impressed to see Beau in there.

"Is that true? You became Astri’s spouse?" Shan asks.

"Not entirely, yet. But she accepted me." Beau answers.

"Good morning to you too." Astri giggles.

Shan comes inside and kneels in front of Astri, holding her hand.

"Would you accept me as your spouse too? Please." Shan asks Astri and she’s shocked at first, not knowing what to answer.

"Well.. That’s a bit sudden."

"I know you weren’t thinking about me, but I can wait and prove I can be a good spouse too."

"Get out of here." Claud says, serious.

"Am I asking you to be your spouse? You’re not Astri as far as I know." Shan says to Claud.

"Careful with your words. I can make you believe you’re a soulless fish for the rest of your life. It’s better than simply killing without even touching you."

Shan and Claud keep staring at each other. Shan knows very well that Claud is the strongest between all Astri’s mates and that he’s not to be played with.

"Easy, you two. You know I don’t like fighting." Astri says. Shan looks back at her. "I appreciate your feelings, Shan. I’m afraid our feelings are different. For me you’re a dear friend and brother." She says tapping his hand kindly.

"I know you don’t have feelings for me, but I want to be with you. I’ll be going to take you back to your lands either way, let me stay and prove to you that I can also protect you."

"I know all of you can protect me, Shan. I don’t want you to be sad or upset if we end up not being more than brothers. Aquaterra needs you too. The Kings will choose between you, Ferd and Hawa to be the next Captain. Independent of who they choose, you will need each other." Astri tries to explain and make things less tense.

"The Kings will choose one of us as Captain?" Shan asks impressed, and Astri nods.

"You’re going to help this Kingdom grow more than it already is. Isn’t that an amazing task? I will be for sure very proud of you when we come back to visit and see how much this Kingdom grew with your help. You learned a lot with us and you will feed your Kingdom with good energies. You will do great here."

Claud and Beau watch Astri being nice even rejecting a male. That is impressive for them because Shan smiled in return and also agreed with her thought. Astri can’t be a mean female even if she needs to reject a male.
