Chapter 937: Chapter 935 Life Vein
To please a freak?
Unless she had water on the brain! Without a second thought, Sally turned and walked towards the palace gates.
But just as she was about to leave, the doors closed...
Sally frowned, turned around, and glared at the silhouette of the 24th, "Open the gate! I want to leave!"
As her words fell, the door opened.
Sally seized the opportunity to run outside but collided full on with someone entering.
It wasn’t the 24th who had opened the gate, but Yase.
Yase was also holding some items, which fell to the ground when Sally bumped into him.
Sally hurriedly apologized and helped pick up the items, then turned to look at that freak...only to find him standing not far away, watching her and Yase.
At that moment, Yase, with his light flaxen slightly curled short hair, wearing glasses, and a face full of goodwill smiling, looked refined and gentle, like a true gentleman.
"My name is Yase, may I ask who you are, madam?" Yase asked Sally.
Sally was stunned for a moment, looked into his eyes, and blurted out, "Sally Millet."
It was only after she had spoken that she realized she had told him...
Yase continued, "Miss Millet, are you pregnant?"
Sally looked down at her stomach which wasn’t obviously showing, "What does that have to do with you?"
"I’m sorry, I was being abrupt. Outside in the desert, we are about to enter the sandstorm period. We can’t leave until after the sandstorm period is over. Miss Millet, you can temporarily stay here," Yase said as he picked up his things again and looked towards the desert.
Following his gaze, Sally saw indeed a sweeping up of yellow sand flying all over the sky, which was somewhat startling.
However, within the oasis region, it seemed as if an invisible dome covered it, completely unaffected by the sandstorm.
"Inside the oasis, it’s all safe, right?"
Yase looked at her, slightly tilted his head and smiled, "Yes."
"Then I’ll set up a tent by the river, borrow this treasured place, and take refuge from the sandstorm," Sally said as she walked towards the river.
"..." Yase watched her determined figure, then walked towards the 24th, "Your Majesty, who is she?"
"From the heavens." The 24th turned around and walked away.
By the river, Sally took out a large tent from the System Space and set up a recovery chamber inside.
Then she used a Dust-Cleaning Charm to clean the sand off herself, drank some Nutrition Liquid to satisfy her hunger, and went straight to sleep.
She was physically and mentally exhausted, so it didn’t take long for her to fall into a deep sleep.
As night fell, someone approached her tent!
The 24th, listening to Sally’s even breathing, did not enter the tent because there was a strange piece of paper taped to the tent. It was this paper that emitted a peculiar power, preventing him from entering.
Yase appeared not far from him, "Your Majesty, she is just a lost member of the Alien Clan, not purely human."
"I know, but her scent is very sweet, isn’t it?" the 24th looked at him, "I don’t believe you don’t want to taste her blood!"
The 24th’s eyes suddenly turned gold-purple, his pupils flashing with a hint of bloodthirsty red!
Yase suddenly advanced towards the 24th, his fist clenched, and delivered a heavy punch to his abdomen!
"You are presumptuous" the red in the 24th’s eyes vanished instantaneously, and he passed out.
Yase hoisted him up, looked towards the tent, "Goodnight!"
Sally had no idea what had happened outside and slept till she naturally woke up the next day.
Coming out of the recovery chamber, Sally was ravenously hungry. But she didn’t want to drink Nutrition Liquid anymore; she suddenly craved fresh fish soup.
And there were fish in the river outside.
She immediately took fishing gear and bait from the System Space and stepped out of her tent.
The sandstorm outside was even greater than the day before!
The once invisible dome, under the impact of the sandstorm, gathered a thick layer of dust. The light within the entire oasis grew dimmer, as if dusk had fallen.
Yase also arrived by the river, saw the items in Sally’s hands, and smiling cordially said, "Miss Millet, going fishing?"
"Yes, you don’t mind, do you?" Sally asked, since it was someone else’s territory.
"Of course." Yase nodded in response, then handed Sally a beautifully crafted box, "Although the oasis seems safe, there are actually some dangerous things around. Spray some of this around your tent before you go to sleep at night."
Sally paused for a moment, took the box, and said, "Thank you."
"Don’t mention it. If you catch more fish than you need, just use them to trade," Yase said with a smile.
"Sure." Sally didn’t want to owe anyone favors, and readily agreed.
Yase then returned to the castle.
Sally was fishing by the river, admiring the sandstorm scenery across the riverbank, and soon enough, a fish bit the bait.
The fish was more than a foot long with a black back and white belly, looking quite plump.
"Lucky," Sally muttered as she placed the fish into a bucket and continued fishing.
But as soon as she cast the line back into the water, not even two minutes passed before another fish was hooked.
It was a larger black fish than the first, even fatter.
After a moment of consideration, Sally fetched another bucket and placed the big black fish into it.
Looking at the clear river water and the school of black fish attracted by her bait, she thought, "Enough for today, no more fishing."
Sally packed up her fishing gear, carrying the large black fish, and headed towards the castle.
Upon reaching the castle’s gate, she knocked and called out loudly, "Yase—"
The door opened quickly.
But it was not Yase who appeared; it was the 24th.
He was clad in a black dressing gown, seemingly just woken, and with a rather low spirit, he stared somberly at Sally, "You’re looking for Yase?"
"Yes! I’ve brought him some fish." Sally handed over the bucket to him, "Freak, can you pass this to him?"
"...What did you call me?" The 24th’s eyes turned menacing.
Sally set the bucket down on the ground, "Freak!"
Then she turned and walked away.
The 24th reached out to grab Sally, but then a gentle and amused voice came from behind him, "Your Majesty, please bring over the bucket."
The 24th: "..."
A month later, the sandstorm had not subsided at all.
Sally’s tent had gradually moved from the riverbank to the forest.
Yase and Sally’s relationship had grown stronger; sometimes, they would take walks together in the forest.
Sally also learned the true name of the 24th—Henry Rabbizoba Abel; Yase was his servant, serving the Abel Clan.
However, Yase also told her that Henry was the last he would serve.
"Why are you here?"
"This is the origin of the Abel Clan; all other places have been swallowed by the sandstorm, leaving only this oasis."
"Origin?"
"It can also be seen as the lifeline. If this last oasis disappears, then the Abel Clan’s fate must end."
"So, you are here to protect the oasis, which is also the lifeline of the Abel Clan."
"That’s right. But this task can only be carried out by the direct descendants of the Abel Clan. Henry has no offspring yet, so he needs to be here personally."
"Then you don’t need to stay here, do you?"
"I can leave, but only after the sandstorm period ends."
"Can you take me with you when you leave?"
"I can."
"Thank you," Sally said with a happy smile.
However, she didn’t notice a hole in the ground, and she stepped into it and lost her balance, falling to the ground... Unfortunately, there was a thorny plant on the ground, and it instantly pierced her hand!
Blood flowed
