However, there were differences between immortal physiques, and not every one would suit him. Taking over a physique that conflicted with his current path would be worse than not seizing one at all.

"A sword path or spatial path physique would obviously provide the greatest boost to my strength if they matched these attributes."

When Lin Jing had released Mo Yu and the Ice Soul Gu, the latter had been at Nascent Soul perfection. After all this time, the Ice Soul Gu's main body remained at that stage. The assistance it provided Mo Yu was limited to near-Void Mystical Stage mixed sword path attainments.

Due to the vast gap in cultivation realms, the boosts in other areas weren't particularly significant. Previously, various concerns had temporarily restricted the Ice Soul Gu's advancement. The demonic avatar stepped into the void, crossing entire regions with each step, quickly returning to the Dragon Spine Snow Mountain. As expected, the heavily injured Snow God hadn't returned to her territory but had gone elsewhere to recover, conveniently leaving this snowy land for the avatar's use.

"Ice Soul Gu, condense your immortal ice nascent soul. I'll protect you during your breakthrough."

After the Origin Source competition had basically concluded, Lin Jing's main body first found the Mountain God deputy sect master to discuss some matters before returning to the Cultivation Alliance headquarters.

His return immediately drew out the Chaotic Immortal Physique possessor Li Tianyi.

"Brother Lin, I heard your spirit beast was slain by Demon Emperor Tianchou's successor?" Li Tianyi appeared concerned on the surface, but internally he was speculating whether Lin Jing could still control that Celestial Beast corpse after this setback.

"No matter." Lin Jing, who had landed on the White Jade Tower, clasped his hands. "Although I was indeed careless and successfully ambushed by that Mo Yu, it didn't harm my foundational energy."

"While my Dragon Carp spirit beast was indeed killed, it possesses 'Nirvana Immortal Fire' which granted it a new life, though it will be weakened for some time."

"Even without the 'Nirvana Immortal Fire', as long as my main body isn't slain, I can still use beast taming secrets to revive them."

"I didn't continue fighting Mo Yu only to avoid mutual destruction that might give other cultivators opportunities."

"I see, no wonder Brother Lin's condition still seems quite good. Congratulations on successfully obtaining Origin Sources so soon after arriving in the Origin Realm." Li Tianyi narrowed his eyes with a smile.

This beast taming cultivator was more formidable than he'd imagined.

"For the next ten years, Brother Lin will undoubtedly be a prominent figure in the Origin Realm. For safety's sake, it would be better not to wander about. Why not seclude yourself in Xianlin City for a millennium to properly digest the Origin Sources you've obtained?" he suggested.

Though Lin Jing was strong, one man couldn't withstand many enemies. If various factions conspired against him, they could certainly succeed.

The recent Origin Source competition had shown Lin Jing lacked good defenses against spatial assassination techniques. Li Tianyi didn't want to see such talent fall before reaching its peak.

"Good, I was thinking the same."

"However."

"Senior Brother Li, though I currently possess two Origin Sources, each only produces one strand of immortal energy per year. Ten years would yield merely ten strands - the production rate is too slow. Is there any method to accelerate the output?" Lin Jing inquired.

He wanted to recklessly expend dozens of immortal energy strands like his avatar could.

"Naturally there is." Li Tianyi said. "There are secret methods to hasten Origin Source immortal energy production. However, these methods damage the Origin Source itself - it's forcing growth. An Origin Source that could normally produce a hundred strands might only yield eighty or ninety percent after acceleration, making it quite uneconomical."

"Alternatively, Brother Lin could trade Origin Sources directly for immortal energy. But most cultivators use any immortal energy they obtain almost immediately. Few preserve large quantities in special vessels."

"Doesn't the Cultivation Alliance have any reserves?" Lin Jing asked, since Sheng Kun had clearly preserved some.

Li Tianyi shook his head regretfully. "The Cultivation Alliance has many members with great demand for immortal energy. We don't maintain large reserves."

Lin Jing sighed. In that case, he'd have to use the acceleration method. Losing ten to twenty percent was acceptable.

He needed to maximize his combat power before the premium grade Origin Sources emerged.

"Could Senior Brother Li teach me this acceleration method?"

"Certainly!" Li Tianyi nodded, also hoping Lin Jing could strengthen himself quickly, given his limited time remaining.
