Beast God
Chapter 55: Forcing You to Learn

The third eye of the Great Black Heaven Demon Statue opened, revealing an eye like a black gemstone.

Within that eye, white light continuously shifted, forming the shape of a white lotus of light.

The white lotus within the black gemstone pupil constantly flickered and changed, the white radiance growing stronger until the entire third eye turned completely white.

Chen Guan watched this miraculous transformation as the white light from the third eye spread across the entire Great Black Heaven Demon Statue, branching out like a spider web of white cracks that quickly covered the whole statue.

In just a moment, the statue’s body looked as if it was pieced together from fragments, yet it did not fall apart.

As the white light intensified, Chen Guan began to worry about being seen.

Fortunately, the surrounding forest was dense, and there were no signs of human activity within several miles. At this late hour, no one should be wandering nearby.

The obsidian-like body of the Great Black Heaven Demon Statue gradually turned into black smoke within the white light, dispersing completely after a short while, leaving behind only a dazzling white glow that slowly contracted.

When the white light contracted to a certain extent, Chen Guan finally saw, within the glow, a voluptuous female mystical spirit wrapped only in white gauze, her appearance extraordinarily stunning.

The white gauze resembled a star river, semi-transparent with twinkling starlight, swirling around her body like a nebula ribbon, undulating like water waves, covering the important parts of her body. However, the subtle hints of allure only made her more captivating.

Her skin was also semi-transparent, crystal-clear like carved jade, but unlike jade’s coldness, there was a pink hue on her cheeks that made her skin look even more delicate and enticing.

When the white light completely dissipated, the female mystical spirit floated in midair, her bare jade feet not touching the ground.

“A mystical spirit that can defy gravity!” Chen Guan’s heart tightened immediately.

Even cultivators who have reached the Second Awakening stage cannot completely escape gravity; only top cultivators who have entered the Grotto-Heaven might achieve that level.

Chen Guan did not expect that after the Great Black Heaven Demon Statue was activated, it would transform into such a mystical spirit.

“Bow to me at once,” the female mystical spirit commanded from above. Though full of enchanting charm, her eyes held a terrifying majesty.

“You are my mystical spirit, living off my vitality, and you want me to kneel to you?” Chen Guan looked at her calmly and said.

“Your mystical spirit was the Great Black Heaven Demon Statue, but now it has completely dissipated. I have nothing to do with you, nor do I need to rely on your vitality,” the female mystical spirit said coldly to Chen Guan. “If it weren’t for my agreement with the Ancestral Emperor, you wouldn’t dare speak to me like this. You would deserve to die a thousand deaths.”

“Who exactly are you? What agreement do you have with the Ancestral Emperor?” Chen Guan scrutinized the female mystical spirit and asked.

“Have you heard of The Epang Scripture?” the female mystical spirit asked calmly.

“Of course I have,” Chen Guan nodded.

“Since you know The Epang Scripture, how could you not know who I am?” The female mystical spirit wore an expression of arrogance as if he must know her identity.

“Could you be the Epang woman?” Chen Guan looked at her and asked.

“The name Epang is not something you can casually call,” the female mystical spirit’s eyes narrowed, and Chen Guan suddenly felt an invisible force wrapping around his body, pulling him into the air to hang there suspended.

“If I hadn’t promised the Ancestral Emperor to help him pass down The Epang Scripture, how could I tolerate you? If you offend me again, I will make sure you die without a trace.”

After saying this, the Epang woman’s tone was cold. Chen Guan’s body relaxed and fell, but luckily he reacted quickly, adjusting his balance in time and landing on his feet instead of crashing to the ground.

“What exactly do you want?” Chen Guan looked inward and found that the Great Black Heaven Demon Statue was indeed gone, leaving no trace of information.

“To fulfill the agreement with the Ancestral Emperor and pass The Epang Scripture to you. Then we go our separate ways. Don’t let me see you again, or that will be your death day,” the Epang woman said without looking at Chen Guan. “I will say a phrase, and you repeat after me. I’ll only teach you once. How much you learn depends on your own destiny.”

“Mind and nature duality, emptiness and form opposing, emptiness as the true state, form as the manifest state…” The Epang woman spoke one phrase, then looked at Chen Guan, signaling him to repeat after her.

“Mind and nature…” Chen Guan read the two words, then suddenly turned and ran, sprinting to hide behind a large tree within two steps.

“You…” The Epang woman was stunned at first, then her face turned angry. She waved her arm, and the star river-like gauze ribbons on her body surged like an inverted Milky Way, bypassing the tree and wrapping toward Chen Guan.

Chen Guan acted without hesitation, summoning Rouge the rabbit spirit and the mutated Tomb Lord, positioning them to his left and right for protection.

Rouge wielded the Bloodsucking Blade and slashed at the gauze ribbons, while the mutated Tomb Lord reached out four hands to grab them.

Chen Guan ducked low, slipping beneath the ribbons, then dashed wildly into the forest.

He did not dare look back or waste a moment, only hoping Rouge and the mutated Tomb Lord could hold off the Epang woman for a few more seconds to let him escape farther.

As for the Ancestral Emperor’s legacy of The Epang Scripture, he did not believe a single word.

In fact, he did not even believe this female mystical spirit was the Epang woman. Even if the Ancestral Emperor had unfathomable methods to turn the deceased Epang woman into a mystical spirit, he would never let the woman he loved become such a bone-rattling temptress.

If the legend were true, Epang woman was the Ancestral Emperor’s white moonlight; who would allow their cherished love to take such a form?

Chen Guan felt there must be something wrong, but he hadn’t yet sorted out what the problem was.

After running a few steps, the star river gauze had already wrapped around him. Chen Guan summoned all his strength to strike a Blood Palm at the ribbons.

The Blood Palm combined softness and hardness; even a thin gauze floating in midair could be shattered by one palm.

However, when Chen Guan’s Blood Palm struck the ribbons, not only did it fail to tear them apart, but the ribbons also wrapped tighter, instantly binding Chen Guan tightly.

Chen Guan drew his Miaosha Sword from his waist, intending to cut the gauze ribbons binding him. Yet, the sword’s sharpness was useless against the ribbons; not only did it fail to cut them, but the ribbons also coiled around the sword, trapping him further.

Bound like a wrapped bundle, Chen Guan’s body was pulled and swung in the air, quickly returning before the Epang woman, hanging upside down by the ribbons.

Rouge the rabbit spirit and the mutated Tomb Lord were also bound and hanging upside down in the same way.

“I'm passing down the supreme secret technique created by the Ancestral Emperor. Why are you running?” The Epang woman stared coldly at Chen Guan and asked.

“I don’t want to learn. Go teach someone else,” Chen Guan said.

“Hmph. If the Ancestral Emperor hadn’t said I could only pass it to the one who obtained the Great Black Heaven Demon Statue, why would I bother with you?” The Epang woman snorted coldly.

“Good that you don’t want me. I don’t want to learn either. Just assume I can’t learn it. After all, you’re only teaching once, so it’s normal if I don’t learn, right?” Chen Guan said.

The Epang woman was so enraged she was momentarily speechless. She didn’t expect her trick to coerce Chen Guan to learn would be turned against her like this.

“You refuse to learn, but I insist on teaching you. I have to fulfill my promise to the Ancestral Emperor,” the Epang woman said coldly.

“What promise to the Ancestral Emperor? You’re not the Epang woman at all,” Chen Guan said directly, exposing her.

“If I weren’t the Epang woman, would you still be alive now?” The Epang woman said.

“If you could kill me, you wouldn’t waste words with me. You force me to learn your secret technique because only if I learn it can you escape or have the power to do what you want,” Chen Guan said, roughly understanding the situation.

“So, will you learn or not?” The Epang woman didn’t deny it, only stared at Chen Guan.

“With your nature, if I learn, once you escape, you probably won’t let me go. If I don’t learn, I might still have a sliver of hope. If you were me, would you learn?” Chen Guan asked.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t learn either. But the world doesn’t always go as you want. You don’t want to learn, but I insist you do. You can’t refuse me,” the Epang woman laughed, then parted her red lips, and scriptures flowed out like a spell, pouring into Chen Guan’s ears like flowing water.
