Chapter 21: This Rabbit is Fierce

Lu Teng already envisioned the scene that would unfold next—the Evil Cute Rabbit's head would be pierced by flying daggers, and even Chen Guan hiding behind it would be skewered together.

Crack!

The sound of metal being severed echoed through the valley, jarring and unexpected.

Lu Teng stared blankly at the unfolding events, his gaze somewhat vacant. The reality before him diverged drastically from his imagined scenario, creating intense cognitive dissonance that momentarily paralyzed his thought processes.

Qin Ziyu and Gongsun Zhuo's eyes clearly showed a glimmer of hope, especially when they saw the butcher knife appear in the Evil Cute Rabbit's paws. Yet they remained fearful this hope could shatter at any moment—after all, it was just an Evil Cute Rabbit.

"This Evil Cute Rabbit actually possesses a secret treasure! I've never heard of such a thing," Wang Lian remarked with mild surprise, though nothing more.

Even if this were a treasure-bearing Evil Cute Rabbit, even if it possessed rare or even unique quality, it posed little threat to Wang Lian. While her raw power might not match Qin Ziyu's, her techniques were no less formidable. In a life-or-death struggle, the outcome remained uncertain.

Just an Evil Cute Rabbit—no matter its quality, it would only die sooner or later.

These thoughts flashed through Wang Lian's mind as she unhesitatingly launched another flying dagger. This time, she simultaneously released fine ox-hair needles, aiming to kill the rabbit with her acupoint-striking needle technique.

Though she looked down on it, she wouldn't be careless nor give her enemy any opportunity.

Rouge stood motionless while Chen Guan retreated. His level wasn't high enough, and he lacked movement techniques like qinggong—he'd only be in the way here. Creating space for Rouge to operate was the wisest choice.

Otherwise, if Wang Lian subdued him first, Rouge's strength would be meaningless.

Clang! Clink!

As Chen Guan stepped back, two crisp sounds rang out. Rouge swung its knife twice, actually severing both Wang Lian's dagger and the hidden ox-hair needles.

"This Evil Cute Rabbit seems unusually strong!" Lu Teng exclaimed in astonished delight.

Wang Lian narrowed her eyes, equally surprised the rabbit could block her ox-hair needles.

"A truly exceptional Evil Cute Rabbit—probably unmatched in this world. Pity it'll go extinct today," Wang Lian said, her hands never ceasing movement.

Her arms blurred as daggers flew like lightning toward different parts of the rabbit's body, interspersed with nearly invisible ox-hair needles.

Watching this storm of blades and needles descend upon Rouge, Lu Teng and Gongsun Zhuo's expressions darkened.

"Damn it! How's that bitch Wang Lian hiding so many daggers and needles? Where are they all coming from?" Lu Teng cursed nervously, using profanity to relieve tension.

Faced with such density of projectiles, they knew they couldn't possibly defend against it—even ordinary Level 10 Mystical Spirits would struggle. They doubted the rabbit could manage.

In the next instant, Lu Teng and Gongsun Zhuo's eyes widened—and kept widening until they nearly popped from their sockets.

The Evil Cute Rabbit's knife-wielding paw moved with blinding speed, the butcher knife flashing through the air to intercept every dagger and needle flying toward it.

Wang Lian's expression changed. She accelerated her barrage.

Rouge remained rooted in place, its chubby body belying lightning-fast movements. The Bloodsucking Blade became a crimson blur, intercepting the increasingly rapid and numerous projectiles until the ground before it was littered with severed daggers and needles.

As Rouge's slashes grew faster, its mouth stretched open, revealing saw-like teeth and a crimson tongue, its eyes glowing blood-red.

The once cute and silly Evil Cute Rabbit now radiated demonic energy, saturated with malice.

Had they not been paralyzed with shock, Lu Teng and Gongsun Zhuo would have jumped for joy.

Never could they imagine Chen Guan possessing such a pet—an Evil Cute Rabbit capable of facing Wang Lian head-on. This defied all logic; they'd never heard of such a rabbit.

Daggers flashed, needles rained, sparks flew where the Bloodsucking Blade struck, illuminating Rouge's increasingly terrifying rabbit face.

Wang Lian never anticipated this turn. That an Evil Cute Rabbit could be so formidable forced her to abandon restraint. Both hands moved simultaneously, releasing dozens of concealed ox-hair needles toward the rabbit.

Lu Teng and Gongsun Zhuo gasped—no creature, even with three heads and six arms, could block so many needles.

Rouge's grin stretched nearly ear-to-ear, like a demon's silent laughter.

As the needles flew, it suddenly leapt several meters high, evading them while bringing the Bloodsucking Blade down toward Wang Lian's head.

The explosive leap caught Wang Lian off-guard. She barely dodged the fatal strike, the blade slicing down her chest, shearing away part of her clothing.

Enraged, Wang Lian backflipped while firing needles at point-blank range and drawing a flexible sword coiled around her waist, slashing toward Rouge's midsection.

Maintaining its demonic grin, Rouge's blade moved ever faster, intercepting the needles before clashing with the flexible sword.

Clang!

Though thin as cicada wings, the sword proved incredibly resilient. While Rouge's strike didn't break it, the tremendous force split Wang Lian's tiger-mouth palm open, blood coating her hand.

The sword flew from her grasp.

Bloodlust awakened, Rouge's blade became Death's scythe, each slash aimed at vital points.

Wang Lian's sophisticated footwork—clearly a movement technique—proved useless against absolute speed and power.

After barely dodging several strikes, a desperate roll saved her life.

"This rabbit...is terrifying," Lu Teng murmured in disbelief.

Wang Lian possessed rare secret techniques like acupoint striking and needle techniques, indicating extraordinary background. Yet an Evil Cute Rabbit had reduced her to this pitiful state, barely able to fight back—this defied all reason.
