Chapter 107. No way?

Chapter 107: 107. No way?

The voice, both friendly and cold, suddenly caused the atmosphere in the scene to freeze.

It seemed as if even the natural surroundings had become subdued by this tone.

But just at that moment, a clear voice abruptly rang out.

"We haven’t even started working and you’re already out here? Don’t tell me you’re in a hurry, Mirror Master?"

In the past, Lann would call the opponent "Glass Boy" to maintain his own resolve under immense pressure.

This was a subconscious method to gain confidence by belittling the opponent.

It represented Lann’s psychological weakness.

But when facing a being that openly altered reality and controlled time.

Using this little trick to have a slightly mocking conversation, without surrendering or flattering, Lann felt he was already impressive.

Yet today, Lann addressed the opponent as "Master."

And the expression on his handsome face was sincere and genuine.

Master, you’re not going to break down just because I found a solution without signing a contract with you... are you?!

No way, right?!

You’re not jumping out now to flip the table, are you?!

Lann’s expression would truly infuriate any normal person who was humiliated.

He did it on purpose.

Of course! Getting tangled with a terrifying "thing" that is obviously trying to take something from you... Lann’s strong willpower preventing him from showing his pressure was already remarkable.

But it’s clear now; this guy jumped out because his plan was nearing failure. If Lann didn’t take this chance to rub it in his face, he would internally regret it for three hundred years!

But Gant Odim, in any case, isn’t normal, or even human.

So, not only did he not get angry, his smiling expression didn’t change at all.

Instead, his gaze at Lann became more intriguing.

He loved surprises.

Living this life, it’s all about surprises!

No surprises, no fun, right?!

"I have to admit, last night, in a good mood, I went to play a little somewhere else."

"I noticed you interfered with a certain portal. But I didn’t sense that the one passing through it was you."

The first part was said to the Lady of the Lake. The second part was directed at Lann.

"I really couldn’t stop this pile of rotten flesh from speaking, Lann. This time... you win."

Gant Odim rubbed his hands together, looking at Lann like a gourmet seeing a dish.

This let the Demon Hunter know that this matter would continue into an unknown future.

"I will not appear again until you need me, or I need you."

"As for the Lady..."

The bald and down-and-out tradesman turned, his expression unwavering as he faced the Lady of the Lake and the Nymph’s body.

"I let this opportunity pass so easily because of you. Please, drive away that fellow as soon as possible. Its lingering here makes everyone feel very dangerous."

"You’re quite dangerous too, Gant Odim."

The Lady of the Lake stopped entwining her hair, speaking with significance.

But the Mirror Master seemed entirely oblivious to it.

"I’m dangerous, but I follow the rules. Even if most of the time the rules are set by me, I still adhere to them, don’t I? And those things?"

"Those chaotic, disorderly beasts without intelligence or principles... what kind of person would feel good about staying with that kind of trash?"

During negotiations with Lann, the Mirror Master always seemed polite.

Even when being blatantly confronted, he appeared to be watching a child having a tantrum.

But when urging the Lady of the Lake, his full cheeks peculiarly thinned down.

Revealing sharp jawlines, cheekbones. The flesh beneath his skin was not blood red, but deep black.

That wasn’t the demeanor of a businessman in a negotiation.

But rather the demeanor of a businessman physically expelling a market disruptor!

Gant Odim slowly retreated, and behind him, the space like torn paper opened a black void.

In the last moment before disappearing into it, he turned his face back to Lann.

"Such a pity..."

"I discovered you before you rose, but before we could have a good business talk, in the blink of an eye, your fame is about to spread across the world. It’s the first time for me, Lann."

"But fortunately, the days are long; both yours and mine are long. We’ll have plenty of opportunities... to communicate in the future."

As his words fell, his body completely sank into the spatial crack.

The torn space smoothly restored itself.

This time, Lann let out a long sigh of relief.

It took him a while to calm his nerves.

"He said my fame is about to spread worldwide? Are many people going to come and see us expel Da Gun?"

While exhaling, Lann asked the Lady of the Lake with confusion.

And the Lady had already returned to her calm demeanor at this point.

"I’m afraid it’s a bit different from what you think, Lann. When Gant Odim spoke of ’spreading across the world,’ he didn’t mean... the world of mortals."

Lann frowned meaningfully. He vaguely guessed something, but thinking back to the previous scene, he withheld further words.

"The biggest trouble has been resolved, my Lady. When can we make him speak? Or do I have to complete the task first?"

Gant Odim and his purported "everyone," these matters were too distant.

He was just a mortal.

Mortals have their own tasks to accomplish.

"Compared to the situation here, your matter is more pressing. I trust your character, Lann. You won’t break your promise to me."

The Lady shook her head, rising from the Nymph.

"Place his body in front of me."

Lann dragged the tarpaulin-wrapped body of Ubank to the edge of the pool.

Revealing the body, already showing signs of significant blood pooling.

"This magic will cause the person’s soul to mutate and suffer pain. I won’t question whether his guilt is justified, as I trust your judgment. But..."

Said the Lady of the Lake, raising her lake-green right hand, intently gazing at Lann.

"I need you to be prepared."

Lann was just about to ask what preparation.

But before he could speak, he saw the Lady’s lake-green slender fingers starting to blacken and decay.

No... it wasn’t decay!

It was an aberrant mutation!

In an instant, those long, straight fingers seemed to transform into the tentacles of a sea creature.

Suckers, barnacles, twisted ring-like orifices, eager eyes emerging from the flesh...

As he witnessed the body mutating, Lann clearly felt a mental shock to his brain.

An absurd feeling naturally surfaced in Lann’s mind.

The scenery in his view twisted, becoming terrifying and malevolent.

Yet his perception did not resist this feeling in the slightest. It was as if even doubt should not arise, as though the true nature of the world was just like this!

The horrifying scene provoked Lann to slowly clench his hand.

The next moment!

With a "bang," the triangular spikes on his glove’s palm punched into his hand!

"Mentos! Execute the third mental defense protocol!"
