Chapter 34: Hidden Boss
Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Hidden Boss
No complaints. They all stripped naked. The cool air brushed their skin raising goosebumps. Their beautiful bodies displayed like sculptures, some bruised from combat others caked in mud, but all looked happy. They’d survived their first fight. They’d beaten the monsters that had tormented them. The sight was beautiful, their asses and tits bouncing. I thought it would be quite embarrassing for them but they all came back laughing and playing chasing each other to spank one another.
Their cheerful attitude was truly infectious. I stripped too and started running after them, my dick bouncing between my legs.
"Come on girls, we’re one group so I’ll pay with you."
"Boss... you’ve got a goblin hanging between your legs."
"Hahaha...!"
Riven’s comment made them all laugh, brightening the mood even more.
"Riven, here comes the goblin!"
I spun my dick like a helicopter, chasing them. The screams and laughter didn’t stop the whole way back.
As we ran I took the chance to check everyone’s status. The hunt had been very fruitful. Everyone had leveled up, some even three levels like Zela from being on the front lines.
[Warning..! Boss Detected]
Due to my happiness I got distracted and forgot. There are always hidden bosses. A roar echoed when an orc nearly ten feet tall appeared behind us.
A Hobgoblin had emerged. Its teeth enormous like a wild tiger’s fangs, a body made entirely of muscle though quite lean and tall. It commanded fear with just its presence.
"How dare you massacre my children...!"
In its hands it held the two Goblins I’d slaughtered with my arrow. The goblin exuded a powerful pressure. Though I couldn’t see its skill level I could feel the power difference between us.
"Riven lend me your sword. Everyone run back to the village. I’ll catch up in a moment."
Riven didn’t hesitate. She threw me her sword. I caught it feeling its weight. It wasn’t bad but just a basic sword.
[Iron Sword (f)]
Despite my order none of the girls ran. They all watched me holding their weapons tight, preparing for combat.
"You can’t do anything against it. Go back. This fight will attract other races. If we get ambushed you won’t escape and I won’t be able to defend you. Trust me..."
They were all reluctant but Riven again showed her leadership.
"You heard the leader, everyone in line, march...!"
The huntresses finally obeyed and ran, disappearing into the forest.
"You damned human, you were abandoned! Do you think I don’t know where their village is? When I’m done with you I’ll go for them! I’ll hang all those bitches and slowly devour them like those idiots who came a few months ago!"
His words solved the mystery of the rescue party. They showed the brutality with which they’d been exterminated.
"You talk a lot for just a damned mob. But since you want it, I’ll show you the difference between a mob and a true boss."
The Hobgoblin roared launching itself at me and raising its battle-axe with all its might. Its attack whistled cutting the air making a powerful sound. I dodged to the side narrowly avoiding the blow while the axe blade hit the ground opening a deep fissure. Its brute strength was monstrous but not too fast. I used my speed to dodge its next strike, a horizontal sweep that would’ve split a tree. I jumped over it and plunged the iron sword into its thigh. The hobgoblin roared in pain. Its skin was like leather, even with my level 9 training the sword barely penetrated enough to slightly slow its movements.
"Damn level difference compensation...!"
I pulled the sword with all my strength. The blade tore its flesh making it scream in pain. The Hobgoblin countered with a furious backhand. I ducked with the blade passing just over my head.
Its guard was open giving me a golden opportunity. I pushed off with my legs putting all my weight behind this thrust. The blow was precise. Half the iron sword sank into its side. Though it wasn’t enough to kill it, it must have caused critical damage.
Blind with rage the Hobgoblin punched me with its free fist sending me flying against a tree. The impact knocked the wind out of me, even blacking out my vision for an instant.
This guy was different. Despite its slow attacks they had devastating power. I couldn’t afford a single mistake or I’d end up like a pancake. My sword was still stuck in its body but I couldn’t retrieve it. The hobgoblin went berserk launching a flurry of attacks.
I dodged sweep after sweep of its axe. I waited for the opportune moment until I saw an opening. I slid under its arm managing to grab the sword. I knew I couldn’t drag this out any longer or there could be bigger problems.
I needed a decisive blow. I pulled the sword from its side with all my strength. The orc launched itself at me with a deafening roar, its axe ready to crush me. In the last instant, instead of dodging completely, I stepped into its blind side. The axe tip grazed my shoulder. I could clearly hear a "Crack". My shoulder was destroyed. I clenched my teeth ignoring the pain. With all the strength my body could muster, I plunged the iron sword into its neck. It wasn’t enough to cut off its head but the hobgoblin could no longer make a sound as it began to choke on its own blood. Its eyes widened in fear. The beast staggered while clutching its neck with one hand.
I seized the moment. I pulled the sword out again but the Hobgoblin attempted one last desperate blow. I didn’t hesitate. I plunged the sword back into the same spot on its neck again and again, capitalizing on the sword’s superior speed.
The hobgoblin’s eyes went dull as it fell lifeless. The sound of notifications arrived like a heavenly bell, marking the end of the combat.
