Chapter 1228: Chapter 1247: Conversation
Huo Beijiang and Jiang Yang’s gazes met, quickly sliding past each other.
Nan Fei noticed and felt an increasing number of strange sensations in her heart, as if since the hospital, Bei Jiang had been hiding something from her. At first, she thought it was military business, but to her surprise, Jiang Yang knew about it too.
That meant it was certainly not military business.
Could it be related to her?
"What are you two looking at?" asked Nan Fei.
"Nothing."
Huo Beijiang’s completely unconcerned attitude was evident as he took a magazine and found a spot to sit opposite them.
"If you want to talk, carry on, just pretend I’m not here." After saying this, he lowered his head to look at the magazine, displaying complete indifference.
Nan Fei was speechless.
How could he be so thick-skinned? When she and her brother were talking, and he sat there pretending not to care, still, having someone else nearby would surely feel strange, wouldn’t it?
"Er... you can’t say it when I’m here."
With a helpless smile, Huo Beijiang stood up, magazine in hand, and walked out. "I’m going to stroll around Maple Garden."
"This guy is so obedient today?" Nan Fei muttered under her breath, not really concerned. She turned her head and smiled at Jiang Yang, trying to reassure him, "You weren’t scared yesterday, were you? I’m fine. I was just suddenly informed and got angry."
"No," Jiang Yang shook his head.
"That’s good." Nan Fei breathed a sigh of relief. "And you, why didn’t you tell me sooner? Remember to tell me right away if something happens in the future, so I can be prepared."
"Sister." Jiang Yang suddenly called out to her, biting his lip hesitantly before looking at Nan Fei. After pausing, he seemed to make up his mind and continued, "I don’t like Zhuanzhuan, and I don’t want her to stay at home."
"Don’t like her!" Nan Fei mused to herself and sighed before saying, "So what do we do? Should we kick her out? But we don’t have the right to do that."
Jiang Yang stubbornly said, "I just don’t like her. If she stays, she will eventually bring harm to you."
Nan Fei was taken aback, looking at Jiang Yang with a bizarre expression, "Why would you say that?"
"She hates you the most." Jiang Yang faced Nan Fei’s gaze without flinching. Instead, he analyzed clearly and logically, "Last year when she wanted to push me into the river and drown me, it was partly because she disliked me, but more so because it was directed at you."
Nan Fei shivered all over, feeling chillingly cold, her lips moved, but she could not utter a word.
"She did that just to make you suffer. In the past, she thought by drowning me, she could cause you pain, so in the future, she might also harm dad, mom, grandpa, and grandma to make you suffer. In the end..." Jiang Yang took a deep breath, his gaze growing colder.
"Although this is just my speculation, there is a great possibility it could be true." Jiang Yang tapped on a thick book in front of him, a naive smile curling at the corner of his mouth. "Sister, I’ve been reading books on psychology recently."
Nan Fei remained silent, and the living room fell deathly quiet. Jiang Yang continued to look expectantly at Nan Fei, hoping she would decide based on his persuasion. Yet at the same time, Jiang Yang was very aware of how strong-willed Sister Nan Fei was.
Even though he had employed a little trick, it might not be enough to influence Sister Nan Fei’s thoughts.
Thinking this, he glanced down at the psychology book in front of him, resolute in his determination to continue his research.
"I... this..." Nan Fei tried to speak several times but in the end, couldn’t produce a complete sentence. Biting her lip, the sting helped pull her thoughts back from the painful reflections.
Things she had never understood before suddenly all made sense through Jiang Yang’s recent speculations.
