Chapter 586: Chapter 0586: Military Application 2_1
The leaders in charge of troop management were overjoyed and promptly agreed to their request. The process of soldiers transferring from different military regions to other troop types was complicated and required a lot of negotiation, all of which was handled by the army.
If the army didn’t intervene, Jin Zhuzhu and Du Xiaotao would have found it tough to realize their wishes.
Luckily, the importance of cultural workers is significantly less than that of medical staff, increasing the likelihood of Jin and Du’s wishes coming true. The negotiations between both parties would take time, and all they could do now was to wait patiently for the outcome.
Niu Yibao and Sang Hong were undoubtedly the most elated. Their rank wasn’t high enough to warrant family accompanying them in the service, and if Jin Zhuzhu and Du Xiaotao continued to stay with the cultural troupe, they would eventually have to return to the Capital Military District, resulting in them living apart. Now, things had changed. They could stay with the border troops for an extended period, allowing the couples to spend every day together, unless other national orders were issued.
"Look at others making every effort to stay here. Why can’t I accompany you? You’ve long met the criteria for me to join you. Xibao is having a great time here. Can you bear to send us back to live without you?" Feng Qingxue grumbled.
Upon hearing Feng Qingxue’s complaint and seeing Xibao nodding furiously on the side, Lu Jiang wore a helpless expression.
"What do you understand, little guy? Do you even comprehend what we’re talking about?" Lu Jiang stroked his head.
"Daddy!" Xibao climbed onto him nimbly, hugging his neck tightly, showing the depth of their intimacy.
The family of three was now nestled on the kang, forming a striking contrast between the warmth inside the house and the conditions outside.
Lu Jiang pulled Xibao into his arms, "Xibao, wouldn’t it be great if you were good like this every day?"
"Daddy, play!"
Xibao squatted in front of Lu Jiang, his back to him, his little hands placed under his legs against the edge of the kang. Lu Jiang had to stand by the edge of the kang, his hands reaching under Xibao’s buttocks to grasp his wrists. With a gentle lift, Xibao did a 360-degree somersault in an instant, laughing gleefully, proclaiming, "Daddy, play! Let’s play again!"
Ever since Lu Jiang played this game with him on the night of their collective wedding, Xibao remembered it, insisting on performing several somersaults every day.
After a somersault, Xibao continued to squat in front of Lu Jiang, beckoning him over and over. The father and son played like this for a while, with Xibao performing seven or eight consecutive somersaults. Lu Jiang feigned exhaustion, "Son, daddy’s tired. Let’s play again tomorrow!"
He worried that too many flips might hurt Xibao’s arms or wrists, so he was always careful with his strength and made sure to limit the number of times.
Xibao was still not satisfied and started crying loudly.
"Play! Daddy, let’s play!" He cried so hard that he couldn’t catch his breath, and another bubble of snot appeared.
Feng Qingxue held up a banana in front of him, "Xibao, look! What is this?"
"Banana!" Xibao immediately stopped crying, wiped his nose with the back of his hand, and climbed over agilely.
Feng Qingxue quickly held him, wiped his nose and hands, then peeled the banana and handed it to him. He took a big bite happily, but before he swallowed it, the banana in his hand was broken.
"Banana! Banana! My banana!" Xibao burst into tears again, angrily throwing away the banana.
Lu Jiang caught it and frowned, "Who spoiled him like this?"
"How do I know?" Feng Qingxue hypothesized that their chubby son had a severe case of perfectionism. He wanted his food to be perfect; whether it was a broken banana, an apple with a bite taken out of it, or even a boiled egg that lost a little bit of egg white while peeling the shell, he refused to eat it if it wasn’t flawless. He always demanded a replacement for a complete one.
