Second Uncle Feng answered her, "She’s from behind the hill, Guanzhuang. She’s a year younger than your second brother. We’ve just distributed the grains. Your eldest brother and I gave them one hundred jin of dried sweet potato and one hundred jin of corn and the wedding was settled."

Feng Qingxue hummed in acknowledgment. Food was currently the most important form of betrothal gifts, without a doubt.

The saying ’turn three times and ring once’ felt too remote for the farmers, they didn’t even dare to think about it.

"Have you prepared everything for Second Brother’s wedding?" Feng Qingxue calculated the money and coupons in her hand. When she got married, her second aunt had given a set of quilts, so she couldn’t be stingy for her brother’s wedding.

"What’s there to prepare? Isn’t it just getting married? Just wrapping up a trousseau and calling it a ceremony will do." Second Uncle Feng’s bronze face broke into a big smile, "Our production team grew several acres of cotton.
