Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: Death Without Proof4

That’s how it went. When visiting Rong Yuan, Rong Yuan was already awake. After Lu Jiang expressed his concerns, Feng Qingxue couldn’t help the curiosity bubbling in her heart and asked him if he had a twin brother.

Li Jiaoyang and Rong Yuan looked incredibly alike, even down to the black mole on their eyebrows—one on the left, the other on the right.

In this world, how could there be so many coincidences?

Wherever there’s coincidence, there’s bound to be a connection.

Lu Jiang thought Rong Yuan would shake his head and deny it outright. To his surprise, Rong Yuan grew anxious and said, "A twin brother? Have you seen someone who looks exactly like me? Around the same age?"

"Yes, it was five or six years ago," Feng Qingxue moistened his dry, pale lips.

"I do have a twin brother, but we were separated when we were little. No, not just separated—he was stolen. The one who took him disappeared into the vast sea of humanity and never surfaced again." Rong Yuan gathered his strength. "Our family has been looking for him ever since, but there’s been no news. Where did you see him? We want to find him and see if he’s the brother we’ve been searching for."

Feng Qingxue’s eyes widened. No way! She was just asking casually, yet Rong Yuan really had a twin brother?

"The person I saw was named Li Jiaoyang. He had a small black mole on his right eyebrow, about the same size and color as the one on your left. Did your brother have that?"

"Yes!" Rong Yuan’s eyes flashed with immense joy. "Aside from the mole, he has the ’Three Stars’ on his foot."

The "stars" refer to black moles, and the "Three Stars" mean he has three black moles on the soles of his feet.

Feng Qingxue gave a wry smile. "Well, I didn’t take off Li Jiaoyang’s shoes to look at the soles of his feet. Li Jiaoyang is a train attendant. He took care of me, my sister, and my child on a train ride, for which I’m deeply grateful. That’s why I remember him so well. I don’t know which train he’s working on now, but I can share what I know with you."

Rong Yuan was moved to tears. "Thank you. Lu Jiang, could you please call my dad and ask him to have someone investigate thoroughly? We’ve been looking for him for over twenty years—we can’t afford to miss even the slightest chance. My mom’s health is poor because she’s been unable to find my younger brother. She’s been recuperating in the Capital; it’s a heart condition. If we can find him, I believe she’ll recover without needing medicine."

Lu Jiang couldn’t possibly refuse. One of his closest comrades, Huo Beiting, was serving under Rong Yuan’s father as a division commander!

When the call connected, Major General Rong laughed heartily, "Well, Lu Jiang, how do you have the time to call me amidst your busy schedule? If it’s about the competition, that’s for next year."

Lu Jiang answered directly, "I heard from Rong Yuan today that the old general lost a son?"

Mentioning this son wiped the smile off Major General Rong’s face. He sighed, "Yes, yes, we lost a son—or rather, he was stolen. It’s been over twenty years now. Back then, the country hadn’t even been established yet; there was war everywhere. We don’t even know if he’s still alive. Searching for him is just a way to bring solace to ourselves and the family. Lu Jiang, why bring it up all of a sudden? Are you trying to reopen old wounds?"

Lu Jiang gave a faint smile. "Old General, my wife met Rong Yuan. She said that five or six years ago, on a train, she saw someone who looked exactly like Rong Yuan—a man with a small black mole on his right eyebrow. Rong Yuan asked me to inform you so you could investigate."

With a loud "bang," Major General Rong stood up abruptly, knocking over the chair behind him. His face betrayed mixed feelings—part shock, part joy.
