Chapter 1453: Chapter 1453: The Pursuer 3
Feng Qingyun immediately got excited, "Well, that was quite the secret you kept!"
What Zhong Wenxiu meant was that the love report had been approved, and she could now openly interact with Guan Cheng.
Of course, their interactions before weren’t secretive either; they met through the introduction of Jiang Xiaoyue and felt it was a good match, so they continued the relationship. The military was rather strict about approving marriage reports, but it didn’t forbid romantic relationships—however, many marriage reports could only be submitted after one was considered for promotion, and the relationship must not affect one’s duties.
Feng Qingyun and Zhong Wenxiu were both in the artist troop, but they were tasked with different missions and performed at different locations; thus, they weren’t together often, like at the beginning of the year when she went abroad for a performance, and Zhong Wenxiu didn’t go.
Zhong Wenxiu nudged her arm, "Don’t talk as if I know nothing about Wa Zhanpeng."
Wa Zhanpeng, from the Foreign Ministry, was ardently pursuing Feng Qingyun, and many people in the artist troop knew about it. Open pursuit was different from secret dating, and since neither was married, no one could find fault with it.
The only slight regret was that Feng Qingyun was too young, just sixteen this year, seventeen the next, and not reaching the legal marriage age until the year after.
Feng Qingyun’s thoughts were far more mature than her age suggested. She found an opportunity to head back home with her bundle.
"Elder sister, I’m back!" Before she entered the house, her sweet voice had already drifted in.
Xibao had already returned from the old leader’s side and was practicing calligraphy under the guidance of Lu Jiang’s father along with his sister. Having just finished writing, he heard Feng Qingyun’s voice and placed down the large brush, rushing to the courtyard door, "Auntie, guess who I am? Did you miss me?"
"Me too, me too!" Lu Erxiong poked his little head from behind Xibao.
Feng Qingyun’s smile was so wide she could hardly close her mouth, "Xibao, Erxiong, I’ve missed you so much, did you miss me? Erxiong saw me just two months ago, so he probably didn’t miss me as much, but it’s different for Xibao. We haven’t seen each other for such a long time. Xibao, come here and let your auntie see if you’ve grown taller."
Xibao stood beside her, "Look where I reach on you now! Your shoulder!"
"Wow, you’ve grown so much? In a year or two, you’ll be as tall as me." Feng Qingyun walked toward the main room with one hand carrying her bundle and the other on her nephew’s shoulder, not forgetting to call Erxiong, "How about elder sister? Has she finished school yet?"
Xibao shook his head, "Not yet, she won’t return until evening."
Lu Jiang took leave to be at home and would take the children with him when he went out. With Lu Jiang’s father and Wang Cuilan also at home, Feng Qingxue felt at ease leaving early and returning late. The more she studied, the more she felt there was to learn, wishing she could split each minute in half.
"You can’t learn much more in the classroom. Whether it comes to foreign languages or medical skills, your foundation has always been more profound than what is taught in class. It’s with us old folks that you might learn a bit. What you need now is to settle down and continue reviewing and focusing on practice," Professor Xie told Feng Qingxue, who was packing her books.
Feng Qingxue nodded, "I’ll listen to you, but I still need to attend classes as usual, for I need a completion certificate."
Professor Xie hummed in acknowledgment, "The medical papers you showed me were very well written. I’ve shown them to all the medical professors I know, and they were flawless. If you have the opportunity, you can publish them overseas to bring glory to our country."
Although Feng Qingxue had always stood on the shoulders of giants, after ten years of studying medicine, she was not without her own thoughts and expertise.
