Chapter 1316: Chapter 1316 Preliminary Understanding 1

After hearing Li Panpan’s words, Sai Xiaocui smiled, while Hu Shuixian felt utterly helpless.

"Panpan, don’t talk nonsense. Be careful, if the person involved hears about this, they might accuse you of slander." Hu Shuixian spoke up, then said to Feng Qingxue, "Sister-in-law, Panpan speaks without thinking, just listen and let it go, don’t take it to heart."

Feng Qingxue pursed her lips and smiled, "Oh, I can’t just listen without care. I must lend an ear to Panpan’s kind warning."

Lu Jiang couldn’t help shaking his head at this.

Feng Qingxue trusted him greatly, and he was clear about his own heart, which would always be faithful. Perhaps his wife’s current enthusiastic demeanor was due to boredom?

Having just arrived in a new environment, she was looking for opportunities to integrate into it.

Li Panpan came of her own accord, so naturally, Qingxue was not going to let this opportunity pass.

"Go see if the child is awake. According to the time, Zhuangzhuang should be waking up by now." Zhuangzhuang was a light sleeper, usually waking up around half an hour before Dundun and Xiongxiong.

As Lu Jiang entered the room, he saw Zhuangzhuang crawling out of the quilt without fuss. Not crying or making noise, he looked back at the quietly sleeping Dundun and Xiongxiong, who had moved to the foot of the bed and was sleeping with his butt in the air. Zhuangzhuang then shuffled backward off the bed and just as his feet were about to touch the ground, Lu Jiang reached out and scooped him up, "No shoes, you’re not allowed on the floor."

Zhuangzhuang was frail and needed to be careful. Qingxue never allowed him to catch a chill by walking barefoot for fear he would catch cold.

Zhuangzhuang looked up with his small face, "Daddy, I need to pee."

Hmm, now he recognized his daddy.

Lu Jiang took him to the toilet, helped him pee, put on his shoes, and the little guy then walked out of the bedroom on his own.

"Mommy, I want some water."

Li Panpan stopped mid-sentence, immediately pausing and watching in amazement as the little toddler came out, delicate and pretty, with naturally blush-tinted lips and shining teeth. She couldn’t help saying, "Sister-in-law, is this your daughter? She’s so beautiful, and she looks a lot like you."

"Zhuangzhuang, Zhuangzhuang!" Zhuangzhuang loudly protested.

Li Panpan, Sai Xiaocui, and Hu Shuixian all uttered in surprise, while Qingxue was busy giving her son some water and laughed, "This is our youngest son, Lu Tianxiu, nicknamed Zhuangzhuang. We only have one daughter, and she’s still asleep in the west room with her brother, not yet awake."

Upon hearing that he was a boy, the three of them were all stunned, looking at Zhuangzhuang in disbelief.

Not a girl? He was too pretty, more exquisite than any of the girls they had ever seen by several folds.

Feng Qingxue, holding her son who had finished drinking water, said to Li Panpan, "Panpan, go on, I’m still listening!"

"Alright!" Li Panpan recalled where she left off and said, "Oh, I remember now, that Zheng Xiaoyu is already twenty-seven this year, always claiming that she’s looking for a like-minded revolutionary comrade and wouldn’t settle for less. But who doesn’t know about her? Isn’t she just trying to climb the social ladder? She wasn’t satisfied with the match the army set up for her, betraying her initial vow to resolutely obey orders. Everyone sees through her. If you don’t want to, then don’t force it, and the army didn’t consider her again when arranging partners for older officers."

Sai Xiaocui was very fond of children. She moved a chair next to Qingxue and sat down, reaching out to tease Zhuangzhuang while smiling, "Originally, the army arranged for Zheng Xiaoyu to marry Brother Zhao Yun, who was still a deputy regimental commander at the time. Zhao Yun was a widower without children, and Zheng Xiaoyu looked down on him, which turned out to be an opportunity for Panpan, who was only twenty at the time. Who would have thought, five years have passed, and Brother Zhao Yun has become a deputy division commander, leaving Zheng Xiaoyu full of regret!"

Not everyone is like Lu Jiang who became a division commander at such a young age. Being able to be a division commander at forty was considered a young talent, and a decade or so ago, this would’ve been a general or senior colonel’s rank.
