Chapter 1294: Chapter 1294: Having a Virtuous Wife 1
The Viva Army originally belonged to the Northeast Military Region, but at the beginning of the year, it unexpectedly relocated to Baozhou in Hebei, coming under the jurisdiction of the Capital Military Region to protect the capital. The former troops moved elsewhere. So, after his transfer, the first thing Lu Jiang had to face was the relocation and all that it entailed: handing over responsibilities, managing military affairs, during which time he was incredibly busy.
Even so, Feng Qingxue was extremely happy when she received the news.
The Viva Army was known as the strongest force, the leader among the military, always first in line for the best equipment available.
Although Lu Jiang’s tenure might range from four years to as short as two, and he could potentially be reassigned elsewhere by 1972, missing out on the Viva Army’s future glory, his name would be left with a significant mark in its history.
The significance was different, it was just different.
The Capital Military Region governed several armies, and the youngest army commander there was over forty years old. Lu Jiang, not yet forty, taking command of the strongest army, truly surprised everyone.
Lu Jiang’s career development was now completely different from his previous life.
Feng Qingxue felt both proud and excited; in short, no single phrase could fully describe her emotions.
However, the folks back home had no idea about the difference.
Is there a difference between commanders?
Is there a difference between military regions?
Isn’t it just about changing locations to serve as a commander? He was still a high-ranking officer, a big shot in their eyes.
Only the Lu Family and Wang Zhengguo knew about Lu Jiang’s transfer to the Capital Military Region. They did not publicize it, continuing with their lives as usual. Feng Qingxue and her son had no immediate plans to accompany the army.
Lu Jiang was too busy, and Feng Qingxue could well imagine how preoccupied he must be, so she didn’t want to trouble him further.
Once his work was on track, the six members of the mother and son’s family would reunite with him and reap the benefits!
"Zhuangzhuang, is that okay? We’ll go to find dad after he’s done with his busy work. Right now, let’s let dad focus on his important tasks," Feng Qingxue said, holding Zhuangzhuang’s soft and tender little hand against her face, her entire being radiating excitement.
Zhuangzhuang pointed towards the door, "Go!"
He had learned to walk and enjoyed going out to play the most.
Feng Qingxue was happy to take him outside, considering it good exercise. Zhuangzhuang needed it to build his physique.
After the busy harvest season, the grain had been distributed, and the oxen, horses, and mules could all rest. Zhuangzhuang pointed at the cowshed, "Big horse!"
He didn’t seem to mind the smell of the cowshed and started toddling towards it on his little legs.
Even though it was late autumn and early winter, Zhuangzhuang already had his cotton clothes on. They were the flowered cotton jackets and pants Xibao used to wear. The lining and the outer fabric had not been changed, but the cotton was new. The fluffy and soft cotton clothes made Zhuangzhuang look chubbier, and he was quite adorable with his plump appearance.
"It would be great if Zhuangzhuang were really this chubby," Zhou Fengchun commented while feeding the livestock single-handedly, looking over at the mother and son.
"Grandpa!" Zhuangzhuang called out sweetly.
"Ah!" Zhou Fengchun responded affectionately, bending down with a smile, "Little Zhuangzhuang is so good. You can walk so well now, and we are all very happy."
In the more than half a year that had passed, the little fellow fell ill often, really causing everyone a lot of worry.
Zhuangzhuang looked up, "Happy!"
Feng Qingxue spoke softly, "Uncle Zhou, before you were reassigned to the Southeast Military Region, you served in the Viva Army. Although it’s been several years, you still have management experience and are familiar with a good part of the officers. Could you share some things with me? I want to tell Ajiang about your experiences."
