Chapter 630: Chapter 629: Mianmian is a Capitalist
The grand opening was a big event.
Mianmian, early in the morning, sat before the mirror to have her stylist create her look.
Old Lady Su asked for Mianmian’s preferences, inquiring which pretty dresses she liked. These dresses had short hems, suitable for moving around but not for large movements.
After looking over her options, Mianmian finally settled on a cheongsam that resembled the one Old Lady Su was wearing.
"Mianmian will wear this," she pointed with her tiny hand, "Wearing this and walking alongside my auntie, I’ll look pretty and shiny~"
Old Lady Su hadn’t expected Mianmian to choose that one, so the dresses had been laid out in no particular order. Now that Mianmian had seen it and even specifically pointed it out, Old Lady Su was so moved that her eyes welled up with tears.
"Okay, Little Auntie will definitely look nice in this one."
The little cheongsam was embroidered with red peonies on a bright red background, very festive. With the red cheongsam as a backdrop, Mianmian’s complexion looked even fairer.
The stylist gave her two little bun hairstyles, adorned with red tassels. The swaying tassels made Mianmian look even more lively and adorable.
"For an opening, it’s best to wear something festive."
"Little Auntie, your skin is really nice, everything looks good on you."
Once the styling was done, there were rounds of compliments.
Mianmian twirled in front of the mirror and, holding Old Lady Su’s hand, said, "Auntie, let’s take a photo and post it on Instagram."
How could Old Lady Su disagree?
Today, Little Auntie was becoming a boss for the first time, and the first photo she was posting was a selfie with her. The family would surely be green with envy when they found out.
Especially that old man who had already taken off early in the morning to play with the little monkey!
At his age, he was still so obsessed with star chasing. He only had eyes for that monkey, which might be the reincarnation of Sun Wukong, totally ignoring his old partner! It was bad enough not to care about her, but even Little Auntie wasn’t on his radar!
While Old Lady Su was pondering these thoughts, Elder Su’s voice came from outside the door.
"Little Auntie, good morning, good morning!"
Elder Su, dressed in a red Tang suit, entered the room.
The little animals that were supposed to be NPCs had also been styled. Most of them chose red, as red was considered especially festive for an opening in Dragon Country.
"Good morning, my dear nephew," Mianmian said, as she was uploading the newly taken selfie onto Instagram, announcing her impending visit to the Amusement Park and Zoo, while greeting Elder Su.
Elder Su was holding his mobile phone and instantly received a notification of Mianmian’s new Instagram post.
Upon opening it, he saw the photo of his wife and Little Auntie and immediately started yelling, "Qinglu, why didn’t you call me to join the photo with Little Auntie? A picture with the two of us and Little Auntie would be most fitting, right?"
Old Lady Su gave Elder Su a sidelong glance, irritated: "Go take pictures with your idol then."
The atmosphere between the elder couple was a bit off, and right in the eye of the storm, the little monkey Xiaoxiao climbed onto Mianmian’s shoulder with a helpless look in its eyes: "Ji ji ji."
Mianmian patted Xiaoxiao’s head, "It’s okay, oh, it’s okay. My dad always says that couples fighting is just a spice of life, no worries."
She didn’t quite understand why a fight that escalated into a brawl could be associated with an interesting love relationship, but what her parents said was always right—she just needed to listen.
Old Lady Su’s face turned red at Mianmian’s mention of "spice of life," "Little Auntie, ah, what is Elder Su telling the kids?"
Mianmian blinked with confused eyes, "Is that a bad thing to say?"
Elder Su quickly reassured, "Not at all, not at all. What Elder Su says is never wrong; it’s not a bad thing to say. Little Auntie, shall we take a photo together?"
"Sure," Mianmian replied, "But let’s take it with Liao An and the others when they arrive. However, this time I won’t post the photo on Instagram because they will be collectible NPCs."
Upon hearing that the photo wouldn’t be on Instagram, Elder Su looked quite disappointed.
But Mianmian was right; there needed to be some mystery in the event. If they had said it was a mystery collectible NPC event, it was supposed to be up to the visitors to discover the NPC identities and then collect their stamps.
Although the Amusement Park and Zoo were adjacent, their entrances were not in the same place.
Mianmian first went to the Amusement Park to start things off.
She sat on a flower float, waving to the fans who were already queuing at the entrance, and then turned her little hands into megaphones, announcing to the fans, "Thank you for your support, the Mianmian Amusement Park is open today! As I mentioned on Instagram yesterday, collecting stamps can earn you dolls, but there’s also an on-site event. If you can make an NPC like you, they will give you a personal little gift, so do your best."
"To prevent difficulty finding the NPCs, here’s a hint from Mianmian: today’s NPCs share a certain feature with me~ If you see it, make sure to speak up~ Also, please line up if there are many people; you can all win a prize, it’s not first-come, first-serve."
Learning about the hidden benefits, the fans on site felt an even greater thrill to enjoy the day.
With ticket prices being so affordable – 30 for the Zoo and 88 for the Amusement Park – it was cheap compared to other attractions that could charge over 200 just for entry.
And considering the dolls they could win for checking in, some had even researched the doll factory Mianmian shared online. It was a company that specialized in custom dolls, where a regular one could sell for a sky-high price of 2000.
It was said that if their custom dolls didn’t look real at first glance, the company would offer a full refund.
Whereas other venues gave away trinkets like medals and pendants, Little Auntie was starting with items worth over 2000, not to mention hidden benefits!
"Little Auntie, don’t make it too cheap, or how will you make money for charity?"
"Yeah, won’t maintenance cost a lot?"
"Maybe skip the hidden benefits, the dolls are already expensive enough."
Hearing the fans’ concern, Mianmian chuckled: "It’s fine. My grand-nephew told me that our Amusement Park will definitely make money, so don’t worry."
"Also, Mianmian is now the Director, a capitalist, so please don’t empathize with Mianmian the capitalist~"
The fans on site were stunned by her words.
Their Little Auntie, who read fortunes and saved lives in the live broadcast room for just 888 divination money, was now opening an Amusement Park and Zoo with the intent to use the profits for charity. The Zoo had even started rescuing animals, and the entrance fees were set low. Yet, the Director Little Auntie straightforwardly told them not to empathize with capitalists.
Had an adult said these things, it might have been construed as constructing a persona. But Little Auntie was so cute and soft-spoken, already a king of popularity. Her earnest voice and expression made it clear she was genuinely advising them not to empathize with capitalists.
What else was there to say?
When the Amusement Park and Zoo were fully open, wouldn’t it be an injustice to Little Auntie’s words if they didn’t visit several more times?
Especially since it was so cheap!
