Chapter 617: Chapter 616: Tickets Sold Out in a Second
The three Western deities didn’t quite understand and were completely baffled.
Charlie was afraid that these three might accidentally use the Death God’s scythe on him. He still had no idea if Western Gods had the same rules as Eastern deities, and he feared that if he died, it might be for nothing.
So, after giving it some thought, he gave each of the gods a mobile phone and taught them how to use it.
These three Western Gods had never really touched a mobile phone before.
But Charlie told them that if they wanted Little Auntie’s help, they had to understand her first, and that meant starting from scratch and watching a video.
At this point, Charlie felt the small screen wouldn’t do Mianmian’s cuteness justice, so he decisively took them to the Media Room in the castle.
"Do the three of you need any food?"
Hades shook his head: "The food of the Human Realm isn’t suitable for us."
In the Underworld, they had their own fruits and meats. He looked down on the things humans ate.
Charlie didn’t insist.
He turned on the replay video of Mianmian’s first Variety Show appearance, taught the three how to use the remote control to navigate the playback, and then left the room, closing the door behind him.
After stepping out, he didn’t forget to instruct the butler waiting outside: "The three guests inside don’t need food or water. If they can’t adjust the video, or if they want to come out, don’t stop them. Just let me know."
The butler nodded to show he understood and bowed as he watched Charlie leave.
Meanwhile, the gods in the room had already seen the scene where the zoo staff and Mianmian’s niece-in-law pushed open the door to the Princes Room, capturing Mianmian asleep on the bed.
On the pink princess bed, the adorable little girl lay sleeping soundly with her eyes closed. Her rosy cheeks were exquisitely cute—to the point where claiming she was a child of Olympian gods wouldn’t have been far-fetched.
"Is this a video stone?" Hypnos asked curiously, "Can mortals also create such wonders?"
Hades: "How could it be divine? Damn it, this is a trap! We must have fallen into an Eastern scammer’s trick!"
In reality, they didn’t understand what "playback," "video," or "Variety Show" meant; they just thought that Charlie, a mortal, wouldn’t dare deceive them.
Now, amazed by the "video" and its display of human technology, they still didn’t grasp the principle behind its operation.
While they conversed, the usually quiet Death God had already raised his scythe, ready to harvest the lives of humans in the entire castle. There were no rules in effect yet, and a few extra kills would go unnoticed by the gods.
All three of them were contemplating leaving, when Little Bun on the screen woke up.
Little Bun rubbed her eyes and began to speak in a babyish voice.
She spoke in American Language, which the deities could understand.
But if someone from Dragon Country had been there, they’d have been shocked: "Does Little Auntie really speak American Language during her live-streams? How come it sounds exactly like her own voice?"
The reason was that Charlie, for the sake of convenience, had people composite Mianmian’s voice and dub it over the replay of her Variety Show appearance. Of course, the version he watched was in Dragon Language so he could review Mianmian’s cuteness as well as learn Dragon Language.
In the Variety Show, Mianmian was facing the camera for the first time, greeting everyone.
The Death God, struck by the cuteness of Little Bun who had just woken up, couldn’t help but raise his hand and waved back at Mianmian in the screen.
Hypnos, on the other hand, had a different thought than the Death God.
Being the God of Sleep, his purpose was to bring pleasant dreams to the people on earth. Mianmian was sleeping so sweetly before, clearly in the midst of a wonderful dream, so why wake her?
While Hypnos felt this was a pity, Hades, who was about to stand up, suddenly leaned back again.
Underneath his silver-white hair, his icy, expressionless face showed no emotion, but his eyes betrayed a hint of interest in the video content.
The playback of the live-stream was slow.
The videos that Charlie collected were adjusted for a faster pace, so they were quicker to watch.
While the three deities watched Variety Show videos round the clock, Mianmian Zoo was already open for business.
The 100 tickets for the Zoo sold out in a second when they became available, while the tickets for the Amusement Park took three minutes to sell out.
Netizens who got tickets joyfully showed them off online, while those who missed out beat their chests in frustration, inquiring when the next batch of tickets would be available.
Mianmian said, "My great-nephew suggested letting the first batch of visitors enjoy themselves first, then read their feedback. After three days, we’ll release the next batch of tickets. For the first month, IPs that purchased once can’t buy again; the second month will have no restrictions on purchases."
This statement nearly drove the netizens insane.
What? Ticket restrictions? Buying once and not being able to go again until the next month?
Luckily, almost everyone online was already a fan of Mianmian, and even those who weren’t fans yet held some good feelings towards her.
Nobody criticized the policy; instead, they were scratching their hearts in eagerness to see what the Zoo was really like.
Amid this anticipation from the netizens, the Zoo’s promotional clip arrived.
Oceans, savannas, forests... whether young or old, all animals appeared content and at ease in the footage. The two polar bears brought over from Cai Country just seven days ago had already become completely transformed, becoming plump and incredibly adorable.
The two giant pandas also appeared on camera. They were skin and bones when they came back, their bones nearly pushing through their skin. But now both pandas were chubby and irresistibly cute.
Mianmian Zoo sure knew how to care for animals!
The Director of the Polar Bear Zoo was shocked after watching the video.
How exactly did the Dragon Country’s Mianmian Zoo manage this? The polar bears were clearly on the brink of death, yet now they seemed so well!
Feeling incredulous, they replied online: "It’s all fake, how could such a thing be possible?"
"The bears were dying! They must have replaced them with other polar bears and are using this as a publicity stunt."
"It’s just a Zoo opening, what’s there to show off about? Why resort to such deceitful promotion? It’s laughable!"
However, it was different for Mianmian.
She received numerous invitations from Zoos asking her to help treat their sick animals.
Some had been her fans for a long time and even sent pictures of sick animals from within the country.
Mianmian didn’t have the time to treat all these animals.
Yet having received requests for help, it didn’t feel right not to assist them.
So, Mianmian thought of a compromise: she decided to produce more medicinal pills for reinforcing the health and vitality of animals and mention them during her next live-stream. She would then let those people buy them to use.
Actually, medical technology was quite sufficient nowadays. As long as the animals could endure their illnesses, they should be able to be cured.
However, for the truly urgent cases, she was still considering ways to go and check on them.
