Chapter 607: Chapter 606: A Little Injury

Mianmian wasn’t hurt from the fall, and quickly got up from Su Chenyu’s body to see how he was.

"My dear great-nephew, are you alright?"

Su Chenyu groaned very loudly.

His gold-rimmed glasses flew off into the distance, and his fair face was smeared with dust.

After getting up with Mianmian’s help, he touched the painful spots on his body with reddened eyes and asked with concern, "Little Auntie, are you okay?"

Mianmian said, "I’m fine, but great-nephew, you’re hurt, aren’t you? Does it hurt a lot? Let Mianmian check your knee, did it get scraped?"

Her tone became quite elderlike, and she stomped on the ground, saying, "It’s all because of this bad ground for hurting our great-nephew. Little Auntie will trample it for you."

Su Chenyu was amused by Mianmian’s transformation into an elder, but his face still displayed an expression of enduring pain, "It’s okay, it’s probably just a little bruised, no need to look."

Mianmian eyed Su Chenyu suspiciously.

She heard Su Chenyu cry out so loudly that she felt he must be in a lot of pain.

But since Su Chenyu wouldn’t let her see his knee, there was nothing she could do except nod her head and then examine the broken cable.

This kind of material was so durable, and the family had definitely tested it when they had someone install it, so it shouldn’t have just snapped.

Su Chenyu was also puzzled and was already thinking about giving the servant responsible for home maintenance a talking-to. If the household equipment could malfunction so easily, what was the point of paying so much to keep them around?

The grandparents and grandchild gazed at the broken cable, both deep in thought, until the servant came to call them for a meal.

After the servant finished speaking and noticed the broken cable, he was also astonished.

Usually, they had someone specifically responsible for maintenance, and they had to produce daily safety reports for the butler. Now that Little Auntie’s swing had broken and it seemed like the young master had fallen quite heavily, he would get scolded by the butler later, not to mention they might dock his salary!

Never mind that, he thought. First apologize then see.

"Little Auntie, young master, I apologize. We check the swing every day and I didn’t expect it to break today."

"Don’t be scared, don’t be scared," Mianmian, after examining the steel cable, turned around and noticed the servant seemed quite down, so she quickly reassured, "I’ll talk to the butler about it. This isn’t your fault."

Taking his cue from Mianmian, Su Chenyu also comforted the servant, "Little Auntie has already said so. Don’t be nervous, there won’t be any problems."

Seeing that Su Chenyu was smiling with squinted eyes as he said this, the servant felt even more terrified.

When the third young master was at home, the old servants always said he must not be offended. After all, the more charming his smile, the more dangerous the "dangerous element" was. Later on, he would need to alert his colleagues to be prepared.

"Thank you, Little Auntie, thank you, young master," the servant expressed his gratitude with a bow to Mianmian and added, "The master and madam are waiting, Little Auntie, young master, please head to the restaurant."

Only then did Su Chenyu carry Mianmian towards the restaurant.

As he walked, he limped along.

This made Mianmian incredibly concerned, and she quickly suggested walking by herself.

Su Chenyu refused, "It’s fine, Little Auntie. It’s just a minor injury, carrying you is no problem at all."

Mianmian had no choice but to cuddle in Su Chenyu’s embrace and said with a hint of discontent, "Great-nephew, it really wasn’t their fault the cable broke; maybe Grandpa Sky is giving Mianmian another warning about danger. I don’t know what kind of danger this time."

Su Chenyu had seen similar remarks from Mianmian in the family group. Initially, when she went to a variety show with ’Little Seven’, her fall had predicted a flash flood in the filming location. Later, when she got a fever at a seaside variety show, it was followed by floods and typhoons.

This time, Little Auntie was swinging on a swing, and it broke.

Could it be that North City was also about to experience a natural disaster? Smog pollution or a sudden earthquake that couldn’t be detected?

It shouldn’t be.

Su Chenyu speculated in his mind but reassured Mianmian aloud, "It’s okay, Little Auntie. You weren’t hurt this time, it might just be a simple accident and not a warning of danger."

He didn’t want his dear Little Auntie to worry too much. Little Bun was so small, having been through so much already.

Now with both the zoo and the amusement park as business ventures, the responsibilities were on Little Auntie’s shoulders.

Yet Little Auntie had just started kindergarten!

In the pediatric outpatient clinic of the hospital, the kindergarten kids seeking treatment were quite a handful. To expect them to do the same things as Little Auntie was utterly impossible. It was because of this that Su Chenyu felt even more affection for Mianmian.

He hugged Mianmian a bit tighter and took the elevator to the restaurant.

Mianmian knew that Su Chenjin was comforting her. After thinking it over, she suddenly became worried and asked, "Great-nephew, do you have to work tomorrow?"

Su Chenyu shook his head, "I’ve taken the day off, great-nephew. I want to visit the zoo with Little Auntie tomorrow."

"Great, then come along with great-nephew tomorrow!" said Mianmian with some excitement.

If her great-nephew spent another day with her, she would know if this warning was related to her great-nephew.

Once in the restaurant, Mianmian was about to go to her usual place as it was her turn to sit at the head as the elder.

But, Su Chenyu made a slight hissing sound as if in pain. Since she, the elder, had used her nephew as a cushion, she couldn’t bear to walk away and ended up sitting next to Su Chenyu instead.

"Little Auntie, what happened to him? Why are you sitting next to him too?"

Elder Su asked while giving Su Chenyu a scornful look.

His third son was quite a schemer, having stood out among the seven brothers from a young age. Now, he was even performing in front of Little Auntie. With such talent, the third son should go to the Entertainment Circle, instead of being a doctor.

"The swing broke today," explained Mianmian directly. "I almost had a fall, but my great-nephew cushioned it for Mianmian. He might have hurt his leg, but he won’t let Mianmian look."

Su Chenyan immediately said, "Let me take a look then, at third brother’s injury."

Su Chenyan, being straightforward, said he would check and got up from the table to tend to Su Chenyu’s leg.

Su Chenyu gritted his teeth, "We’re currently eating."

If he let his injury be examined, Little Auntie would know about his pretend pain, right? How could he then use this excuse to pamper Little Auntie?

Seeing Su Chenyu’s reluctance, Su Chenyan grinned, "Then I’ll check after dinner, big brother."

After dinner, Su Chenyu yawned ceaselessly and went to bed without giving Su Chenyan a chance to examine him.

He pretended to be asleep while the Su family’s group chat was bustling with activity.

Mianmian followed the Su Family’s rule to speak up about issues in advance.

She shared her guess that the warning might indicate an issue with Su Chenyu or someone in the Su Family, advising everyone to wear their amulets.

After everyone responded, Little Bun hugged her pillow and drifted into a deep sleep.

After a comfortable night’s sleep, Mianmian was off to the zoo again the next day.
