Chapter 499: Chapter 498: Tsk, Look at His Death

"Money can’t buy foresight, eh?" Mianmian patted Charlie’s leg like a little adult, offering comfort.

Actually, she should have patted Charlie’s head, but she wasn’t tall enough, so she had to settle for his leg.

"Money can’t buy foresight?" Charlie repeated the phrase with his strange accent, his eyes lighting up, "Wow, that’s so awesome! Even a thousand pieces of gold can’t buy foresight, did I get that right?"

The blond, blue-eyed man then crouched down, his deep blue eyes intently gazing at Mianmian, his face full of expectation.

Mianmian could now reach Charlie’s head, and she gently patted it twice, one hand behind her back: "Good boy, you got it right, that’s exactly what it means. Oh ho ho ho, such a teachable child~"

[There she is, Teacher Mianmian!]

[Hahaha, I really want to know who she’s imitating with that bent-over, affectionate look of the little auntie—could watch it a thousand times and never get enough.]

[The way Charlie is squatting and getting his head patted, so cooperative... I have to say something that might have a big impact, it’s like my Golden Retriever...]

While the audience was being charmed by Mianmian and Charlie’s interactions, sending a flurry of comments, good student Charlie furrowed his brow, puzzled by the phrase "such a teachable child."

"Ruzi? Ruzi? Ruzi?" He tried several words, but none was correct.

Seeing that Charlie didn’t understand, Mianmian quickly explained in fluent American Language: "Ruzi isn’t ruzi, it means someone might not understand something at first but after the teacher explains it, they get it right away. A person like that learns quickly and makes the teacher happy, so they say ’such a teachable child.’"

"So that’s what it is!" Charlie’s eyes shone even brighter, "So I’m a ruzi! Alright, from now on, let all my subordinates call me that."

Mianmian was confused when Charlie said this, feeling like something wasn’t quite right.

But seeing how happy Charlie was, and knowing ’ruzi’ wasn’t an offensive term, Mianmian didn’t say anything more.

All four groups of guests had arrived, and the Hu sisters who had reached Sea Island earlier were coming from another direction.

Hu Zhengguo found it strange: "Why are you coming from that direction? I designated the landing spot right here."

Hu Yingying was embarrassed: "We, we had some other issues to resolve, so we asked the staff to wait here for us..."

As the wearer of the Best Actress crown, Hu Yingying was already stunningly beautiful. A beautiful and charming woman, with full feminine allure, turned slightly red and shyly mentioned "other issues," leaving everyone to imagine the unmentionable.

"Alright, that works too." Hu Zhengguo stroked his mustache to hide his awkwardness, "Indeed, it’s less convenient here with no village nearby and no buildings above. Cough, cough, this island is a public area, so everyone is free to look for items on their own. I’ve arranged for the staff to set up a simple place to handle those ’other issues,’ and the guests can take their own tools to start their island adventure."

"It’s worth mentioning that the group with the most points today will get a free speedboat ride ticket, so go for it, everyone!!"

After explaining the subsequent arrangements, Hu Zhengguo didn’t bother with the guests anymore.

The drone operator specifically aimed the camera at other people who were disembarking from the speedboat.

Seeing that some of the uniforms worn were those of the rescue team, and noticing another boat docking with some emergency equipment on it, the audience felt relieved.

With the show’s logistics so well handled, the audience no longer talked about safety concerns.

Each group of guests was followed by their own camera crew and an additional safety officer.

After preparing, everyone set off.

Since Director Hu said it was a public area, there were no constraints about who could work where.

"Mianmian, where are you going to look for seafood? Can I go with you?" Gu Youyou asked sheepishly, "I won’t compete with you for seafood, is that okay?"

Gazing at Mianmian with hopeful eyes, how could she possibly refuse?

She took Gu Youyou’s hand: "I’m not afraid of you competing with me, it’s okay, let’s go together."

Gu Youyou joined Mianmian, and Little White Dragon, not wanting to be outdone, quietly asked to join Mianmian as well.

Just as he got Mianmian’s approval and was about to enjoy the moment, Little White Dragon noticed that Situ Zha was following behind them.

He immediately frowned, his small, delicate face filled with hurt, throwing sidelong, disapproving glances at Situ Zha. He stood in front of Situ Zha with an "Y" posture, instinctively fearful, and unable to confront Situ Zha directly.

Situ Zha rolled his eyes in a manner devoid of any grace and muttered indifferently: "Tsk, look at his dead fish eyes."

Situ Jing heard this comment and smacked her son on the head, reprimanding him: "What are you saying? How can you say that about other children?"

Situ Zha’s temper flared up as he defiantly argued with Situ Jing, his neck stiff: "I’m not wrong, look at him! Glancing at me like that, what else would you call it but dead fish eyes?"

Situ Zha’s voice was loud enough for everyone to hear, and those in front turned their heads to look.

Little White Dragon knew Situ Zha was talking about him; his eyes turned red as he clutched Mianmian’s clothes, the picture of sadness.

A grown man, or rather... a dragon, exhibiting such a wounded, resentful expression.

Situ Zha’s fists clenched, itching to teach Little White Dragon a lesson on what it means to be a real boy. Just as he was reaching the height of his anger, his mother quietly said: "Didn’t you say Little White Dragon’s parents are no longer alive? Be good, Zhazha, don’t be angry with him. He’s just a child who doesn’t understand, and we have a manly Zhazha."

Situ Jing’s voice was gentle, and she sounded especially proud when she mentioned being a "manly" man.

Situ Zha was immediately mollified and, with his arms crossed, huffed at Little White Dragon and let go of his anger.

Mianmian looked at Situ Zha and then at Little White Dragon, carefully prying Little White Dragon’s hand from her clothes. She then earnestly said: "It’s not right to look at someone from the corner of your eyes, so if the person you’re looking at gets angry, you should accept it and then apologize."

When Little White Dragon heard Mianmian say this, his eyes turned even redder, tears threatening to fall.

Mianmian was actually criticizing him to defend Situ Zha, even though he and Mianmian had had so much fun together yesterday. Does that mean he can only be happy without Situ Zha around?

Little White Dragon looked at the other children around, then at Mianmian with her stern face, and pursed his lips.

After a while, he walked up to Situ Zha, his head bowed and his voice barely above a whisper, "I’m sorry, Situ Zha, I shouldn’t have looked at you from the corner of my eye."

Situ Zha snorted loudly and lifted his chin: "I, Situ Zha, am generous, so I forgive you. Don’t do it again next time. I hate it when others give me sidelong glances, got it?"

The audience in the live broadcast room couldn’t contain their laughter.

The conflicts between children really come out of nowhere, and the way they’re resolved is so funny.

The wronged little White Dragon and the arrogantly forgiving Situ Zha; both kids are quite good-looking, and their interactions are just adorable!
