Chapter 440: Chapter 439: The Little White Dragon Wakes Up

Situ Zha suddenly remembered that the Jade Emperor had abruptly summoned everyone to make their choice.

With faith dwindling, Spiritual Qi withering.

To slumber or to transmigrate, two options.

At that time, it wasn’t mentioned that these magical artifacts would appear in the mortal realm; so where is his artifact now?

Seeing that Situ Zha remained silent, deep in thought, Mianmian did not bother him anymore.

She walked over to the Little White Dragon, extending her hand to touch its head.

The Little White Dragon was still unconscious, perhaps there was a problem within its sea of consciousness.

She could take Ayu, who lived inside her own head, to go and have a look.

Indeed, upon entering the Little White Dragon’s head, Ayu appeared.

"Mianmian, do you need my help with anything?"

Mianmian was observing the Little White Dragon’s memories.

This dragon was created, its memories stored in a sea; she was standing on the sea surface with Ayu.

A gentle sea breeze blew, causing ripples to spread across the water’s surface.

There was no sign of the Little White Dragon.

"I want to know why the Little White Dragon isn’t waking up."

Ayu nodded, "Then I will open his memories for you to see."

Ayu was now very adept at this sort of thing. Without needing Mianmian to do anything, he could directly intervene in another’s sea of consciousness.

With Ayu’s assistance, the scenes before Mianmian’s eyes began to change.

The sea transformed into a lake, the lake bed composed only of rocks and shrimp.

A small boy with dragon horns upon his head was struggling to lift the rocks, slowly piling them up. Day by day, he moved some, and as days passed, the piled rocks began to take shape, forming a long tunnel.

Further inside, there was a throne of stones.

The boy emerged from the lake, fetched another large rock from outside, inscribed the words "Crystal Palace" on it, and then sat on the stone chair.

Some fish and shrimp entered his Crystal Palace, and he talked with them.

However, the untrained fish and shrimp could only respond with simple sentences like "hungry" and "want to eat," unable to communicate with the Little White Dragon.

The Little White Dragon left the Crystal Palace, seeking beings capable of speaking, but after flying for a long time, he could only see humans. Fearing discovery by mortals, he hid and eventually returned to the lake, curling up in the chair, motionless.

As time passed, loneliness engulfed the Little White Dragon.

He began to reminisce about the past, remembering that he was once an egg at the sea floor. His parents sang to him, his sister danced for him, and he felt very happy. Until a strange black mist appeared at the sea floor, turning his parents and sister into skeletons.

His parents’ and sister’s souls protected him, sending him to the lake and instructing him to live on before their souls returned to the Underworld.

Possibly stained by that black mist while in the egg, the reminiscing Little White Dragon’s body began to be eroded by the Dark Qi.

Ultimately, he also saw his own body turn into bones.

Originally, a dragon would simply exist through the long passage of time, and now, even in death, the Little White Dragon still lay motionless at the sea floor. Only when someone came and lifted his bones out of the lake did he follow along.

His bones were reattached with flesh and blood - the flesh and blood of a python.

Those people drew strange arrays, chanted strange spells, and the flesh eventually grew onto his bones, merging with his dragon bones. Then, he uncontrollably entered it, causing the body, patched together from python flesh, to gradually infuse with true Dragon Qi, and its scales transformed into real dragon scales.

But there was a price for entering the body.

He became trapped in a black cage, unable to get out, forced to sustain his body with the Dragon Qi from his soul, watching as his body was controlled to do things he did not wish to do.

The cage was the contract of the Beast Taming Sect!

Mianmian understood why the Little White Dragon had not woken up after seeing this memory.

Previously, when they had fought, the Little White Dragon had not awakened; the dragon body was still a corpse, merely being controlled by someone else.

The Little White Dragon and Xiaohu were different; Xiaohu was still alive when he accepted Qiongqi’s Qi transformation. Whereas he, after dying, was forcefully stuffed into a body. Thus, to awaken the Little White Dragon, the contract cage must be broken to restore his freedom.

Let’s do it!

Mianmian exchanged a glance with Ayu and plunged into the sea, slowly swimming toward the location of the cage.

Within the Sea of Consciousness of the Little White Dragon, he had conjured up an ocean, as well as illusions of his parents and sister.

Outside the cage, his parents and sister stood still, staring at him.

He, in the form of a dragon, was curled up as if he were still in an egg, mimicking his previous state at the bottom of the lake, daydreaming.

Because he was daydreaming, even when Mianmian approached, the Little White Dragon still showed no reaction.

"Come on, wake up," Mianmian said, reaching out to gently touch the Little White Dragon inside the cage.

The Little White Dragon remained motionless.

Seeing this, Ayu wanted to enter the cage, "Should I just pull him out directly?"

Mianmian shook her head, "No need, no need, we just need to help him fulfill his wishes!"

Ayu looked at the three Xuyings standing beside them, "We can’t fulfill this wish, Mianmian, his parents and sister have already died."

When people die, bringing them back to life requires a heavy price to be paid.

Now, what needed to be resurrected were three dragons, which was something even Mianmian couldn’t accomplish.

"No, it’s not about bringing his parents back to life." Mianmian gripped one of the Little White Dragon’s claws, "He wants to return to the ocean, to see his parents’ bodies, and to have friends he can talk to and communicate with."

"All we need to do is help him achieve these things."

"So, do you hear me? Little White Dragon?"

Mianmian conveyed her thoughts over.

The Little White Dragon’s eyelids twitched.

The next second, his eyes suddenly opened wide.

Though small, his eyes were a deep blue, and his pupils, like those of a wild beast, fixated on Mianmian.

Mianmian smiled, "So, do you want to come out and go to the sea with me? Let’s go see the ocean together."

Those deep blue dragon eyes began to change in the pupils.

After a while, a voice as soft as water spoke up, "Okay!"

Now that the Little White Dragon had responded, Mianmian summoned her sword.

With one slash, the cage imprisoning the Little White Dragon was cut in half.

The Little White Dragon, now free, transformed into a little boy in white clothing, still intently staring at Mianmian.

Mianmian said, "Since you’ve agreed, you have to regain control over your body, no more daydreaming."

The Little White Dragon merely nodded.

Mianmian then returned with Ayu to her own body.

When she opened her eyes, the Little White Dragon, whose head she had been touching, also happened to open his eyes.

With his soul back in control of his body, the Little White Dragon shifted his position, his five claws touching the ground, attempting to stand up.

But he hadn’t stood for long before he lay down again.

"What’s wrong?" Mianmian was concerned.

The Little White Dragon opened his mouth, "Hungry."

So he was hungry!

Mianmian wondered what dragons would eat, and when she turned around, she saw Situ Zha watching the Little White Dragon with a sneer on his lips and his hands balled into fists.

She hurriedly blocked Situ Zha’s line of sight.

The Little White Dragon had only just woken up; they couldn’t let Situ Zha, who already had a dispute with dragons, beat him to death!
