Chapter 408: Chapter 407: Mianmian’s Mouth Can Be Zippered
"Impossible, absolutely impossible," Rose released Chunchun and waved her hand, indicating she didn’t believe Chunchun’s words.
Phoenix Fairy frowned her delicate and slim brows, also appearing quite vexed.
Chunchun examined the vividly red thread between the two ghosts, confirmed its existence, and then carefully asked, "Mianmian said her family was tied up by the red threads I made. Could she be referring to you? I can retract the red threads. That way, you won’t be affected by them anymore."
Upon hearing that Chunchun could retract the red threads, Rose’s eyes lit up, "Then hurry up, retract them for me, so I won’t delay in flirting with more handsome men and male ghosts in the future."
As soon as she finished speaking, Phoenix Fairy’s face darkened with a glare at Rose, and after the glare, she lowered her lashes and floated out of the room.
Seeing Phoenix Fairy seemingly angry, Rose expressed confusion.
Every time she tried to hold Phoenix Fairy’s hand, Phoenix Fairy would have an especially unwilling expression. Now that the red thread can be undone, why is Phoenix Fairy getting angry?
"Chunchun brother?"
As Rose fell silent, the room was filled with a little girl’s groggy voice.
Huahua, who was on the bed, rubbed her eyes and sat up. Seeing Chunchun was truly sitting by her bed, she smiled happily, "It’s really Chunchun brother. Mianmian didn’t lie to me; she really brought you back."
Chunchun was also smiling, but his smile contained a hint of guilt, "Mhm, Mianmian didn’t lie to you, or to me."
He glanced outside to see it was still dark and pulled out a red string from under Huahua’s bed, swiftly crafting it into a little rabbit, and handed it to Huahua, "It’s not dawn yet. Huahua, you should sleep a little longer, brother will stay with you."
Huahua held the little rabbit in her hands and shook her head, "No way, I want to thank Mianmian in person. Didn’t brother say we must always say thank you when we receive help?"
She was an obedient little friend (child).
"No need to thank little auntie," Phoenix Fairy, who had left, floated back in, holding two talisman papers, "Little auntie said she’s going back to sleep too. Stick these talisman papers on yourselves. Tomorrow, someone might come to talk to the director about adopting you, you might want to consider that."
"Tonight, the Yin siblings are hiding here to protect you."
As she spoke, Phoenix Fairy let the Yin siblings reveal themselves, showing them to Chunchun and Huahua.
Suddenly having two more kids in the room really startled both Huahua and Chunchun. When did these children appear, and how come they didn’t feel anything at all?
"I’ve delivered the message, so I’ll be leaving now," said Phoenix Fairy softly, turning to float out of the room.
Rose hesitated briefly, then followed behind Phoenix Fairy, heading to where Mianmian was.
Mianmian was preparing to return home on a helicopter, with the two brothers, Su Chenfei and Su Chenyan, waiting.
Su Chenyan was quicker and scooped Mianmian into his arms.
Seeing his little auntie utterly exhausted and collapsing into his arms, Su Chenyan’s eyes filled with guilt. It was because of his own issues that she had been kept busy until now.
"Fifth nephew, don’t... frown," Mianmian, still drowsy, saw Su Chenyan frowning and raised her little hand to comfort him, "Mianmian is okay, you know. Today, I even got... a treasure, I’m very... happy..."
Before she could finish saying "happy", Little Bun started smacking her lips and fell asleep.
Su Chenyan kissed Mianmian’s little cheek and still felt hurt for her.
Seeing his fifth brother like this, Su Chenfei yawned quietly and consoled, "Fifth brother, don’t take everything upon yourself. It was those blind things that wanted to mess with our family who used such shady schemes."
Su Chenyan looked down, "I was thinking... I trained to build up muscles to protect the family, never expecting to be protected by little auntie, feeling somewhat useless."
"But little auntie also said she was very happy, and if she said she’s happy, then she’s truly happy. Don’t overthink it," Su Chenfei patted his big brother’s shoulder.
The helicopter thundered into takeoff, heading for the Su Family Manor.
After a night passed, and daylight broke, Mianmian put on her little backpack, ready to head to Kindergarten.
The Ying siblings reported to Mianmian the outcome of last night’s events.
Ying Fang said, "Daoist Master Qing Xu arrived at the Orphanage early in the morning and told them he wanted to adopt them under the name of Ling Xiao Temple."
"They both agreed, and now they are processing the paperwork to move to Ling Xiao Temple," Ying Miao added, following Ying Fang’s words.
Hearing that Chunchun and Flower were willing to go to Ling Xiao Temple put Mianmian at ease. However, the red thread issue between her fifth grand-nephew and Liao Ran hadn’t been resolved yet, and she still needed to visit Chunchun to check if there was any problem with that red string.
Moreover, Chunchun mentioned that she had taught someone else how to make the red string, leaving Mianmian wondering if that had any impact.
Mianmian kept pondering these things even while at school, occasionally sitting and daydreaming.
Situ Zha spotted Mianmian looking preoccupied and walked over, extending a finger to poke at Mianmian’s chubby cheek with the corner of his mouth.
Her face got poked, but Mianmian was still lost in thought.
She was just thinking about what Situ Zha had told her about Lu You and Situ Jing when she finally snapped back to reality as Situ Zha’s poking turned into pinching.
"What are you doing?"
Situ Zha eyed Mianmian up and down, "I should be asking you the same thing. Judging by the way you’re daydreaming, if Fen Tian wanted to kill you, he would have succeeded already."
When saying the word "kill," Situ Zha even placed his hand on his neck and made a slashing gesture.
"That won’t happen, besides, isn’t Situ Zha here too?" Mianmian, rubbing her pinched-red cheeks, looked at Situ Zha very naturally and said, "With you here, he wouldn’t have the chance to kill Mianmian, right?"
Situ Zha touched his nose, "What, are you seeking my help, Little Master? I’m not that kind-hearted."
While saying this, Situ Zha casually picked up a toy from the Activity Area, pretending a sudden interest in it.
Mianmian played along with Situ Zha, and took the opportunity to ask about Lu You, "Have you seen what happened to Lu You?"
Situ Zha’s hand, which was playing with the toy, paused for a moment. He thought Mianmian knew about how he, last night, had snuck into Lu You’s home, covered Lu You’s head and gave him a beating.
So he retorted gruffly, "I know, what about it? Didn’t I just vent for my mom and turn him into a pig’s head?"
"Ah, you turned Lu You into a pig’s head?" Mianmian was extremely surprised, "Was it last night?"
Situ Zha frowned at Mianmian, "You didn’t know?"
Mianmian shook her head.
How could she have known? Yesterday she was locked inside the Kunlun Mirror and had barely managed to get out. She was daydreaming today without focus because she was so occupied until late last night that she didn’t sleep well.
Situ Zha’s expression was one of utter speechlessness.
Mianmian didn’t know, yet here he was blurting it out himself.
So he threatened Mianmian fiercely, "You can’t tell my mom, if you tell her, she’ll just get upset again, especially since her Company has already collapsed and dissolved."
"I won’t tell, Mianmian’s mouth can be zipped up," Mianmian said as she mimicked zipping up her mouth with her small hand and then looked Situ Zha up and down with her big eyes.
Who would have thought Situ Zha would go and beat up Lu You? No wonder he is the reincarnation of Nezha! Is this what mom meant by daring to love and hate?
