Chapter 403: Chapter 402: The Red Line Tightens Around Mianmian’s Neck
Mianmian listened to what Chunchun had said and thought for a moment before asking, "Can I see the agreement you signed with them?"
Chunchun shook her head, "I don’t know, I can’t read."
Mianmian held out her hand, "As long as you let me touch your head, I’ll be able to know. Are you willing to let me see?"
Just as Chunchun hesitated whether to agree or not, there suddenly came a knocking at the door.
"Chunchun, I need to talk to you," the person outside spoke with urgency, "Something seems to have happened to Hua Hua."
With those words, Chunchun hurried to the door to open it.
Now Mianmian was a bit nervous. What if the other person could tell she was human, not a ghost?
Nervously, Mianmian slapped an invisibility spell on herself before waiting for Chunchun and the man to talk.
The man wasn’t Fen Tian, just dressed in a black robe identical to that of Fen Tian’s.
His face appeared very pale and there was a red dot on his brow, but he was quite handsome.
"Huh? Is there a new ghost in your room?" the man had also seen Mianmian and asked Chunchun.
Chunchun clenched her fists, "Never mind her, what happened to Hua Hua? Take me to see her."
The man smiled, "Alright, I’ll take you to her."
As they spoke, with a sweep of the man’s sleeve, he and Chunchun disappeared on the spot.
Mianmian couldn’t make out what technique the man had used. She hurriedly asked Green, "Did you see how he did that just now? How did Chunchun and he disappear all of a sudden?"
Vexed by the unfamiliar technique, Mianmian didn’t know how to counter it. She could only walk to where the two had vanished, trying to discern any clue.
Green asked, "Can you see where that man comes from?"
Mianmian shook her head directly.
There were more and more people she couldn’t see through with her Heavenly Eye.
Was this man on the same level of badness as Fen Tian? If all the demons were this formidable, what was she going to do?
"You can’t see either," Green narrowed her eyes, "Have you noticed, everything here seems to be the opposite of outside?"
Mianmian replied immediately, "I’ve noticed, this place is like a world inside a mirror, which is why left has become right and right has become left. I was wondering if I might have also been reversed from left to right, right to left."
As she spoke, she reached up to touch her chest, and it seemed to be true.
Her heart on the left side was actually beating on the right side.
Seeing Mianmian still curious about herself, Green said impatiently, "Since you’ve realized it’s a mirror, then we should look for the mirror. If this place is controlled by that man from before, we might not even be able to leave."
Divine Artifacts follow their owner’s commands.
If they could be put away like that, then they might end up unable to leave this place just like the ghosts that had come in.
"It’s not that easy," Mianmian scratched her head, "To guess it’s a mirror, and then to find the mirror, is it really that simple?"
She certainly didn’t believe it.
If she had a Divine Artifact that was a mirror, she wouldn’t really make the artifact itself a mirror. Plus, even if it were a mirror, the other party would surely keep it close; it wouldn’t be something she could easily get her hands on.
But, since she didn’t know where Chunchun had gone to now, wandering around inside was not a bad idea.
Little Bun did the same thing as outside, strolling through each room.
At Green’s insistence, Mianmian inspected every mirror and found nothing unusual. The New Year Picture Doll’s face was always heavy with emotion as if there were something on her mind she didn’t know how to express.
After looking at the last mirror, Mianmian asked Green, "Are you worried that this might be the world within the Kunlun Mirror?"
The only mirror among the ancient Ten Great Artifacts was the Kunlun Mirror.
Having Green, with Fen Tian wielding the Mountain River Sheji Map, and now the appearance of the Kunlun Mirror seemed not too outlandish. If it were truly a Divine Artifact, then Liao Yue, Green’s original owner, seems the easiest to deal with after all.
Liao Yue was just a Snake Demon, afraid of Heavenly Thunder, while both Fen Tian and the man just now were beyond Mianmian’s understanding.
Little Bun touched his little bald head, trying to calm his rapidly pounding heart, waiting for Green’s response.
"Hmph," Green glared at Mianmian’s innocent look, "Yeah, I worry this is the world inside the Kunlun Mirror. After all, when we were together before, we did not have spirit awareness of each other. So I don’t know what kind of Divine Powers the other has, nor do I know who would be more powerful."
After suddenly saying so much, Green turned her head away haughtily, "Everyone else who encounters a Divine Artifact would recognize it through a blood pact, firmly controlling it in their hands. Only with you, if I hide, I hide; if I don’t want to come out, I won’t, and you simply don’t care!!"
The New Year Picture Doll looked aggrieved, as though she had been holding back these words for a long time.
In her heart, Green always told herself it didn’t matter how Mianmian treated her; she urged herself to accept the fact that Mianmian didn’t want to conquer her.
But she would still become irritable because she didn’t feel as useful in Mianmian’s hands as she did when she was with Shennong.
Green didn’t know if her feelings were right or wrong, but she was just annoyed.
Seeing Green so agitated, Mianmian quickly held her dear friend close to her chest.
"It’s okay, it’s okay, where there’s a will, there’s a way. When one door closes, another opens. I dared to come in because when I did divination outside, it was ’minor luck’! This was the result granted by Grandpa Heaven, so there definitely won’t be a problem inside!"
Green huffed, "Your Grandpa Heaven already made your Heavenly Eye work intermittently, and you still trust him so much?"
Mianmian grinned, her little white teeth shining brightly, "I don’t really trust Grandpa Heaven; I trust my own divination. It’s my own divination that I’m relying on, it has nothing to do with Grandpa Heaven."
Green felt like she was about to explode with frustration.
Seeing Green becoming even angrier, Mianmian kissed Green on the head, "Don’t be mad, we’re the only ones here, teammates on a quest to win treasure."
These words only made Green more depressed, "You’re still thinking about treasure? Do you think this is Fahua Temple?"
"Maybe it is?" Mianmian replied and walked towards Chunchun’s room.
She had looked everywhere, Chunchun might have returned to her room by now, and Mianmian still wanted to see what the agreement with Chunchun was.
Upon returning to the room, indeed, Chunchun was there.
Mianmian tore off the invisibility spell and approached Chunchun.
Chunchun wore a strange expression. When she saw Mianmian, her eyes fixed on her for a long time.
Mianmian let Chunchun look and asked curiously, "Why have your eyes suddenly changed like that?"
Chunchun withdrew her gaze, "Did you really come here because you saw Hua Hua?"
Mianmian nodded in acknowledgment.
After all, she had said it earlier; she came after seeing Hua Hua. Hadn’t Chunchun already agreed to this?
After Mianmian nodded, Chunchun clenched her fists, "Didn’t you say you wanted to see the agreement I signed with that person? Just close your eyes and turn your back to me, and then I’ll let you see it."
The request was actually a bit strange.
But Mianmian complied with it anyway.
And as she turned around and waited, Chunchun extended her hand forward, where a red thread appeared.
The red thread crossed in front of Mianmian’s neck then suddenly tightened!
