Chapter 378: Chapter 377: How Shameless Can Mr. Lu Be?
Su Chenzhou, hearing the urgency in his fifth brother’s voice, had no choice but to give a quick word of caution about safety before hanging up.
Su Chenyan drove to the airport at breakneck speed, buying a ticket and flying out the same day.
So, by evening, the person who came to pick up Mianmian turned out to be Su Chenzhou.
Little Bun was surprised: "Sixth nephew, why are you here?"
Su Chenzhou squatted down, picked up Little Bun, and said with a smile in his eyes: "Fifth brother said he was going to cause trouble if he continued playing around, so he took a flight to Linhai City and asked me to pick you up."
Unlike Su Chenyan’s impulsive personality and rapid speech, Su Chenzhou was always leisurely, with half-closed eyes, appearing as though he hadn’t woken up fully.
Liao Ran, seeing that it wasn’t Su Chenyan who came for Mianmian, looked disappointed: "So Mr. Chenyan has gone to take care of work?"
Upon hearing this, Su Chenzhou glanced at Liao Ran standing behind the Iron Gate.
He found it strange that the teacher of Little Auntie would say such a thing.
However, Su Chenzhou didn’t say much, just carried Mianmian to the parking lot, preparing to take her to his eldest brother’s company.
He didn’t know about Su Chenyan’s situation, but he did mention in the group chat that he was going to pick up Little Auntie today. His eldest brother said they were supposed to take Little Auntie for a visit to the Lu Family, but he had an important meeting and couldn’t get away, so he asked him to take Little Auntie to the company first.
On the way, Mianmian took out her mobile phone and called Situ Jing using the number Liao Ran had given her.
The call was quickly connected.
Just as Mianmian was about to speak, Situ Jing’s voice came through the phone with disgust: "I told you to stop calling, do you want me to sue you for harassment? The president of Lu Group can’t really be this shameless, can he?"
The scolding caught Mianmian completely off guard.
And after saying that, Situ Jing hung up the phone.
Su Chenzhou’s brow furrowed slightly: "Little Auntie, who were you talking to?"
Isn’t the president of Lu Group Lu You?
"I was calling my classmate Situ Zha’s mom, Situ Jing. Situ Zha hasn’t been at school for three days; I wanted to know why he hasn’t come."
Su Chenzhou paused for a moment, recalling the information related to Little Auntie that he had seen in the group chat after finishing his work with the Underworld Network, his expression relaxed a bit: "Oh, it’s Situ Zha’s mom. The call was cut off; do you want my help?"
He might not be able to help others, but he had to satisfy Little Auntie’s requests.
He could make it so that the other party couldn’t hang up the phone even if they wanted to.
Mianmian shook her head: "It’s okay, I’ll just add her on Whatsapp and leave a note about who I am."
She didn’t expect Situ Zha’s mom to get that angry.
But the president of Lu Group?
As Mianmian added Situ Jing on Whatsapp, she pondered: "The president of Lu Group she mentioned, which president is she talking about?"
Su Chenzhou said: "In North City, there’s only one president of the Lu Family, and that’s Lu You."
The Lu Family isn’t as easygoing as the Su Family.
There are many people in the world with the same name and surname, and there are many presidents named Su; the Su Family never cares about such things. But the Lu Family is different. If any young person in North City named Lu starts a business and someone refers to them as President Lu, Lu You would definitely buy out their company or run it into the ground.
There are plenty of legal tactics in business warfare, and those whose companies were crushed have nowhere to complain; they just have to endure it.
"Is Lu You harassing Situ Zha’s mom?" Mianmian was somewhat puzzled, "But why would he do that?"
It’s inconvenient not to see much of the past and future concerning people she knows. She couldn’t see Situ Zha’s past and future, and consequently, she also couldn’t see anything related to Situ Zha connected to Situ Jing.
Mianmian wrote her name in the note and stated that she was the one who just made the phone call.
Therefore, after seeing the message, Situ Jing immediately returned the call.
Mianmian answered, and Situ Jing’s apologetic voice came through: "I’m sorry, Little Auntie, it was you. I—I was just angry earlier and didn’t answer."
"No problem at all; have you had an issue with Lu You?"
Situ Jing hesitated for a moment; glancing at her son meditating by the office window, she tried to sound cheerful: "It’s nothing much, don’t worry. Anyway, did you need something when you called?"
Mianmian could tell that Situ Jing was forcing a smile, but she didn’t expose her. She repeated, "If you need help, I can help you."
Pressing her forehead, Situ Jing said: "Really, it’s nothing. Little Auntie, please tell me what you need?"
"I just wanted to know why Situ Zha hasn’t been coming to school; it’s already been three days."
The concern in Little Bun’s voice was unmistakable, and Situ Jing was suddenly overwhelmed with tears.
How could she explain? How to say that the reason she had just scolded the president of the Lu Family was partly because her son hadn’t gone to kindergarten? If she told her, she might owe Little Auntie a favor again.
She had been foolish back then.
After so many foolish years, she never expected it could still be held against her.
Situ Jing covered her mouth, not daring to cry too loudly.
Her son had said he was cultivating and had been meditating for quite some time, telling her that normal conversation would not disturb him.
But she was still afraid of her son hearing her cry.
Mianmian heard Situ Jing’s choked sobs and became concerned: "What’s wrong? Did something happen to Situ Zha? Tell me quickly, so I can help him. Has Fen Tian come after you again? It’s all my fault; I should have thought of giving you a Protective Talisman sooner."
Little Bun was frantic, standing up from her car seat as she spoke.
Just as she was considering going to see Situ Zha, his voice came through the phone from the other end: "Mom, why are you crying? Who are you talking to? Were you bullied?"
"No, no," Situ Jing forced a smile again, "Zhazha, have you finished meditating?"
Situ Zha glanced at the phone: "Then who are you talking to?"
"Su Mianmian, from the Su Family, the Little Auntie. She’s worried because you haven’t been in kindergarten." Situ Jing handed the phone to her son, "You talk to her, okay? Be nice, she’s concerned about you."
Situ Zha pouted, took the phone, climbed onto the couch, crossed his legs, and asked, "What did you tell my mom? She’s crying like this."
"I didn’t say anything much; I was just asking why you haven’t been to kindergarten." Mianmian explained, and hearing that Situ Zha sounded full of energy, she knew he was fine.
She hesitated, choosing not to repeat what Situ Jing had just said, and tactfully advised: "Zhazha, you need to have a good talk with your mom, okay? Adults always think we’re just kids and don’t want to tell us things, but it’s better to talk about them. Kids also have their own ways of solving problems!"
Like her own mom and dad; they never talked about the disaster, but instead, they just tricked her down the mountain.
When her mom and dad woke up, she would definitely have to settle accounts with them!
