Chapter 374: Chapter 373: You Should Leave
"You’re so good at turning corners, Little Bun," Mianmian praised Su Chenyan’s performance during the exercise, and then she carefully inspected the red string between Liao Ran and Su Chenyan.
Confirming it was still a normal red string, Little Bun grew even more puzzled. Teacher Liao was so sad, did Su Chenyan really not want to play with Liao Ran at all? Then what was the purpose of this red string?
After hearing the compliment, Su Chenyan wanted to chat with Little Auntie a bit more but noticed her big eyes were fixed somewhere else.
He turned and saw that Little Auntie was looking at Liao Ran, then he scratched the back of his head.
"Why does Little Auntie keep looking at your teacher today? Did you have a fight with your teacher?" Su Chenyan asked bluntly.
Mianmian quickly shook her head: "No, no, how could I quarrel with Teacher Liao? We didn’t argue. I’m looking at Teacher Liao for another reason."
Su Chenyan’s brow furrowed slightly: "Oh, another reason."
Without asking what the reason was, he looked back at Liao Ran. After a moment, he went to the vending machine and bought a bottle of beverage manufactured by the Su Family enterprise, presenting it to Liao Ran.
"Teacher Liao, I prefer this drink. It’s our Su Family brand."
Standing still, as if questioning her life choices, Liao Ran did not expect Su Chenyan to suddenly turn to her and speak such words; it took her a moment to respond.
Most people don’t pay much attention to who makes their drinks; as long as it comes from a healthy brand, they simply buy whatever brand and flavor they feel like. Unless there’s something wrong with that brand, they usually don’t switch.
Who would have thought that Su Chenyan actually paid attention to the factory, insisting on drinking from his own family’s brand?
Liao Ran couldn’t help but feel a mixture of amusement and resignation. However, she had to admit that after talking to Su Chenyan, she felt much better, as if there were no problems with their fate as in-laws.
She smiled at Su Chenyan, "Alright, I’ll buy this one for you next time."
Upon hearing this, Su Chenyan quickly shook his head: "No need. I never drink beverages given to me by anyone outside of my family."
His words were straightforward as he opened the bottle and began to drink, heading towards Mianmian, leaving Liao Ran behind once more.
Su Chenyi’s gaze shifted subtly as he watched his younger brother Su Chenyan initiate a conversation with Liao Ran.
It was as unusual as the sun rising in the west. If anyone were ranked according to their dislike of playing with girls, Su Chenyan would surely be first.
As for the reason why?
That goes back to the time Su Chenyan played with a girl his age and got tattled on relentlessly, leaving him deeply scorned! Luckily, later on, that girl’s family moved abroad. Otherwise, the two might have ended up in a big fight.
It was also because of that girl that Su Chenyan stopped taking the initiative to play with girls ever since; even when girls approached him, he would bluntly tell them not to talk to him.
And now, he was striking up a conversation with Liao Ran?
Especially after Liao Ran had offered water and was refused?
As Su Chenyi wondered about Su Chenyan’s motives, he heard his wife, Lu Xuan’s voice, "Chenyi? What are you thinking about?"
Hearing the uncertainty in his wife’s voice, Su Chenyi whispered in her ear, giving an honest reply, "I’m thinking about the fifth brother. He hasn’t spoken to women of his own initiative since he was 8, but just now he actually spoke to Teacher Liao. It seems like something’s off."
Lu Xuan shrank back a little.
She and Su Chenyi had re-registered their marriage certificate almost a month ago; even though they shared a bed, they had never been this close.
Now, Su Chenyi was suddenly this close, which made her uncomfortable.
But after Su Chenyi said his piece, he straightened up, as if he had only leaned in to speak. Lu Xuan didn’t know what to say, but since there was still more to discuss, she tugged at Su Chenyi’s sleeve. When he bent down and brought his ear closer, she said, "Grandma Youyou just mentioned that I should keep an eye on Teacher Liao. She said Teacher Liao is acting strangely and keeps doing odd things. Approaching the fifth brother this time might also have some unsavory reasons."
After hearing this, Su Chenyi’s gaze finally rested on Liao Ran: "Is that so? I have been busy observing our family and haven’t paid attention to Liao Ran."
Being a married man, he naturally treated other women as if they didn’t exist, not sparing them a glance.
Upon hearing this, warmth spread through Lu Xuan’s heart.
Su Chenyi indeed had never spared other women a look, previously he only had eyes for painting and for her. Now, even with painting, he would only dabble occasionally and not obsess over it like before.
After the sweetness passed, Lu Xuan felt a tinge of bitterness.
Did she deserve it?
With no career and family problems, could she truly match Su Chenyi?
Lu Xuan glanced at Su Chenyi’s profile, then looked towards Mianmian: "Let’s talk to Little Auntie tonight; you remind me, so I don’t forget again."
Su Chenyi nodded slightly, "Yes, of course. Since we’re here, shall we join the kids and play with the skateboards? I remember you used to roller skate in college, it’s somewhat similar."
Lu Xuan agreed, finding it boring to just stand around, so she accepted Su Chenyi’s suggestion.
The couple rented skateboards and joined their sons in the fun.
Mianmian was teaching Bai Bai how to skateboard.
Bai Bai purposefully made himself a bit bigger; after all, a puppy needs to grow up. This also meant that out of all the pets, only he could manage to ride the skateboard.
There were two short tracks at the children’s practice area, where two kids could skate simultaneously.
As Bai Bai practiced, Mianmian accompanied him, teaching him to push off with one back foot until the board gained speed, then to place that foot on the board.
Perhaps with innate talent, Bai Bai learned quickly and was able to glide for short distances after just a while.
Seeing Bai Bai practice well, Mianmian took out her mobile phone to take pictures of him.
She needed to update her Instagram status occasionally, and today’s theme was perfect – skateboarding!
After taking a video of Bai Bai skateboarding, Mianmian moved over to teach Gu Youyou. When Liao An and the Yin siblings arrived, she started teaching them as well.
Su Chenyan was helping, too; now that Liao An and the others were considered part of the Su Family’s kids, he felt it was his duty to nurture several athletic talents.
This left Liao Ran, who had been looking for another chance to speak with Su Chenyan, feeling quite awkward.
Su Chenyan was always around the children’s play area, and for her to approach him was inappropriate, but not approaching meant missing the opportunity.
Ultimately, Liao Ran decided to stop learning and instead tried to strike up another conversation with Su Chenyan.
To make conversation, she even bought a new bottle of beverage. "This drink really tastes great. The Su Family enterprise is truly different."
Busy teaching Ying Fang to skateboard, Su Chenyan suddenly heard Liao Ran’s voice and glanced up at her: "If you can’t skate, don’t come in here; you’ll be in the way. Better for you to stay away," he said.
