Chapter 357: Chapter 356: Handing Over to the Country
Upon exiting the VIP reception room, the group followed the Su Family’s private helicopter route.
Although there were no passengers on this path, there were staff members who couldn’t help but let their gaze fall on the group.
Not to mention the two strikingly handsome men in front who were both nearly 1.9 meters tall, the bodyguards following them were top-notch in physique, all uniformly dressed in black suits and sunglasses.
The staff knew the identity of Su Chenjin, but they did not know who the foreigner walking shoulder to shoulder with Su Chenjin was. After checking their mobile phones, they were immediately startled!
The sovereign of America’s wealthiest family!
"How do his assets compare with our Dragon Country’s Su Family?"
"That depends on the Forbes rankings. Look here, last year even Mr. Su was only ranked fifth."
"There’s no helping it. There are more tycoons abroad than here at home, but isn’t it because our Dragon Country was historically oppressed? Things are different now. Maybe by the end of this year, the Su Family’s assets will surpass theirs?"
The staff quietly discussed among themselves while watching the group board the Su Family helicopter.
The helicopter took off and in just a while, they arrived at the Su Family’s headquarters.
Charlie came to Dragon Country not only to meet Mianmian but also to assess the corporate strength of his business partners.
Su Chenjin had arranged for professionals to give Charlie a tour. Under the fluent American Language, they visited every department of the company.
The staff’s performance was excellent, brimming with enthusiasm.
At first, Charlie thought it was his own charm that made the Su Chenjin Company’s staff unable to restrain their urge to scream. But after observing carefully, he realized that the staff were actually looking at Little Auntie.
"You really are well-loved," Charlie said to Little Bun in his arms. "Everyone likes you a lot."
Mianmian chuckled, "Because I like everyone too, so everybody also likes me."
Children’s speech isn’t always logical, yet such a causal relationship amused Charlie and deepened his smile. If the world’s matters could be simply summed up with "I like you, so you like me," then it couldn’t get any better.
There will always be people and things you like but are unable to possess.
For example, the priceless Gem of the Ocean’s Heart.
The place arranged by Su Chenjin for the gem exchange was in the Company’s Meeting Room.
Even if it was a gift between friends, since they were of different nationalities, certain things had to be documented to ensure transparency and traceability, otherwise, it could be exploited by malicious parties to cause trouble.
In this respect, Su Chenjin always did very well.
Once everyone was seated in the Meeting Room, a stranger, led by Jin Tai, took a seat on the other side of the conference table.
Mianmian stole a glance at the stranger and tugged at Su Chenjin’s hand, writing on the back of his hand, "Little Auntie, Mianmian wants to give marbles to Charlie, is it troublesome?"
Upon hearing this, Su Chenjin knew that Little Auntie had recognized the identity of the stranger who was present.
He wrote back on the back of Little Auntie’s hand, "No trouble, it just needs to be handled transparently."
Mianmian pouted.
How could it not be troublesome? Seeing the Guanlu Palace, it was clear that he was a high-ranking official.
With such a high-ranking official present, how could it not be troublesome?
Little Bun thought and pulled out the blue marble from her pocket, handing it to Charlie, "This is as promised, a gift from Mianmian to you."
Charlie was shocked to see Mianmian hand over the Gem of the Ocean’s Heart so casually; he quickly reached out with both hands to catch it, and then solemnly placed it in the combination box.
Inside the combination box was a soft base with a space specifically left to fit the "marble," and it fit perfectly.
Beneath the azure gem was a light-colored soft fabric of a matching tone, making the blue of the gem even more profound, like the real sea.
Once the combination box was closed, Charlie passed it to the bodyguard behind him and handed over a stack of prepared documents to Mianmian.
"This is my gift for Little Auntie upon our meeting: two manors located in Columbia Valley," Charlie said with a smile. "Once Little Auntie signs here, the manors will belong to you.
"The Ocean’s Heart is too precious, so I added a winery, hoping it’s sufficient to match the gift that Little Auntie has given me."
Mianmian couldn’t understand the transfer contracts, so Su Chenjin helped to check them over.
Once sure there were no issues, he nodded to the stranger who had come in and then taught Mianmian where to sign her name on the contract.
With Su Chenjin’s assistance, Mianmian carefully signed her full name. As for the place where Charlie was supposed to sign, it had been signed before he came.
With the gift of the two wineries, the income of Charlie’s family would decrease by at least three percent.
Three percent may not sound like much but is enough money for many ordinary people to live a lifetime.
After Mianmian signed, she put down the pen and asked a question, "Since there are two, can Mianmian give them as gifts to someone else?"
Charlie was taken aback, thinking that Little Auntie, being a child, didn’t grasp the value of the gift he had given and thus said to Su Chenjin, "Chenjin, I think you should really talk to Little Auntie about this. To casually give away such valuable gifts, giving it to you or me is still acceptable since we are friends. But if she accidentally gives it to an enemy, it could be fatal."
Having said this in fluent American Language, Charlie shook his head.
Su Chenjin, however, smiled, "I trust Little Auntie won’t just give her gifts away recklessly."
After answering Charlie, Su Chenjin replied to Mianmian, "Now they belong to you, and you can do with them as you please."
In his tone, the three percent stake in Charlie’s family’s earnings was also something he did not care about.
Charlie couldn’t help but want to shake his head again.
The next second, upon hearing Little Bun’s words, the tall foreigner’s eyes widened.
"Mianmian wants to donate them to her motherland," Mianmian said shyly. "Can I? How do I go about it?"
Su Chenjin thought to himself: As expected.
Although Little Auntie was a child, she was very astute about these matters. The gift was not suitable for her or the Su Family to keep; the best solution was to give it away, to turn it over to the country.
At the conference table, the stranger who had come also could not hide a smile now.
He was very satisfied with Mianmian’s decision, feeling that he could report back with an exceptionally satisfactory result.
"We’ll take care of it later," said Su Chenjin. "Little Auntie, keep the items for now; we’ll give them away later."
By now, Charlie was completely surprised.
He had never expected that Little Auntie would surrender the gifts to her country.
Private possessions are, after all, not something others have any right to take away. However, if the owner wishes to voluntarily surrender them, that’s a different matter altogether.
"Charlie, won’t you be angry?" Mianmian looked at Charlie. "I gave away your gift."
Charlie shook his head, "No, I’m not angry. To use a phrase in Dragon Country’s language, ’You don’t value material things,’ and I respect you for that."
