Baby Serendipity: The Whole World Fell In Love With Me
Chapter 289 - 288: Let’s Explore this Temple

Chapter 289: Chapter 288: Let’s Explore this Temple

Bai Bai’s eyes were dark and inscrutable; after a long while, he split his lips to reveal a wolfish grin and said, "Alright, Mianmian, I’m fine. I feel very good, and speaking won’t be a problem for me. The prayers are too effective, I’ll continue."

Xiaohu followed Bai Bai’s lead and added, "I also feel like there’s no problem~"

From the beam above, Dahuang and Xiaohuang flew down, landing on either side of Mianmian: "Chirp chirp chirp!"

They could only fly and not yet speak.

But Mianmian always could hear them, knowing that both were saying they felt fine and had no problems. With everyone claiming to be problem-free, and the three that were still praying with closed eyes, Mianmian didn’t feel it was right to say more.

She had always respected her little friends.

Seeing that her friends had all sat down, she felt she had no choice but to sit as well.

The shiny, bald heads sat in rows, making those with hair stand out from the crowd. The monks at Fahua Temple had reserved spots for them in the corner, not among the monks.

Since Su Chenjin had come today, he had put aside all his work to accompany Little Auntie to the end.

Before starting, Yong Hui made a gentle announcement, "If any benefactors feel tired, let this disciple usher you to the Guest Room for sleep. Especially Benefactors Su and Yang, as the secular world is busy, if you cannot hold up, just sleep early. Quietly leave and someone will show you the way."

Su Chenjin thanked Yong Hui for his kindness and settled down on the mat with Mianmian.

With Yong Hui’s introductory remarks, all the monks began chanting. The tender verses echoed in the spacious Great Hall. Despite the lack of loudspeakers, the sound was unending as if circling above the rafters.

Mianmian looked up at the monks.

This time, she also saw the golden radiance Yang Xian had mentioned several times before, gathering above the Great Hall with the chanting of the monks and gradually forming a golden lotus!

Such a miraculous scene made Mianmian exclaim to herself in awe: How incredible!

Mom was right; there are indeed many powerful individuals out there. The power contained within this lotus was something she had not truly come into contact with before, different from what she could harness.

If Mianmian was amazed, what about the others?

Yang Xian marveled at the power of Buddhism, wondering if he too could become more formidable. Even if he didn’t become Erlang God, after what was said in the square earlier, he might still achieve great feats in his own right if he embarked on cultivation.

As Yang Xian was thinking this, another stream of golden light coalesced from the direction of the statues and entered his Heavenly Eye.

Yang Xian suddenly heard a voice: "I have understood your request...".

It was as if the voice spoke directly inside his brain, each word resonating with such immense energy that it made Yang Xian’s mind explode with noise.

In the midst of it all, the voice seemed to imply that as long as he prayed with sincere faith, the Buddha would fulfill his wishes.

Originally sitting casually, Yang Xian naturally changed his posture, sitting even more correctly than the monks beside him.

He put his hands together and prayed devoutly.

Mianmian, seeing Yang Xian suddenly become serious, drew closer to her grandnephew after a moment of confusion.

Although Su Chenjin was also sitting cross-legged, his gaze was lucid and he did not look like Yang Xian. Noticing Little Auntie moving closer, he briefly paused, then used his finger to write on Mianmian’s pudgy hand.

He wrote: "What’s wrong, Little Auntie?"

Mianmian could write; she had practiced it in the mountains already.

Those realms with time flowing differently from the outside were designed for learning.

So, she quickly grabbed Su Chenjin’s palm and wrote on his hand back: "Grandnephew, I still think they’re strange."

She felt something was odd but no longer dwelled on whether she was to blame for everyone’s predicament.

Su Chenjin quickly replied: "What’s strange about it?"

Mianmian wrote again: "Bai Bai and the others just prayed, and they received so much from the Buddha statues. But Mom said, only by giving can one receive, which aligns with the principle of balance in Yin and Yang."

Su Chenjin was also weighing the situation.

His thoughts were like Mianmian’s: efforts bring rewards. Just like how the Su Family had become the wealthiest in Dragon Country, not by scheming but through generations of hard work, accumulating knowledge of new things, hence not being abandoned by the modern era.

"Little Auntie, let’s go explore the Temple."

Visiting here, that had been their original intent. Yong Hui initially seemed to be targeting Mianmian, but his later actions were completely normal, with no oversteps.

The anomalies of the Temple could only be investigated by them themselves.

Mianmian agreed, writing "Okay" on Su Chenjin’s hand, and then the two silently rose and stepped outside the Great Hall.

Outside, the sound of monks chanting was still clear. As the main purpose of the ceremony was to suppress negative energy and restore balance between Yin and Yang, the golden glow from the blossoming lotus was now piercing straight into the sky, an astounding sight from outside.

This indicated that the monks’ chanting was indeed effective.

"Two benefactors, would you like to rest?" one of the monks, who had been given the task to watch over Mianmian, approached and asked.

Mianmian nodded: "Yes, please show us where to rest."

The monk then gestured for them to follow.

They walked past the Great Hall and found several Side Halls. The Side Halls housed various Bodhisattva statues, as well as the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and the 108 Arhats. Legends said many Bodhisattvas who had achieved true fruition were included as well.

But with the monk present, it was not the time for sightseeing.

Carrying Mianmian, Su Chenjin walked all the way to the Guest Room. The monk opened the door, indicating them to enter, and mentioned, "The tea has been freshly replaced tonight, and there’s fresh water in the tank outside; both benefactors may use it."

In places like Temples, austerity is cultivated.

The halls remained simple and old-fashioned, without any modern amenities, naturally lacking taps for water.

After acknowledging the monk, he turned and left.

Once the monk was out of sight, Mianmian retrieved an invisibility charm, preparing to investigate beyond the Great Hall. To avoid suspicion, she strategically placed a puppet on the bed in the room.

Su Chenjin followed suit.

It was his first time using an invisibility charm, and he found it quite novel.

But as soon as he climbed out the window, Su Chenjin laughed.

His Little Auntie, with a thief’s instinct, tiptoed and hunched over as she walked while invisible, her small form endearingly cute.

"Here, take this charm too," Mianmian held onto Su Chenjin’s hand, offering him a Light Body Talisman, "This will make your movement even lighter."

Su Chenjin pocketed the talisman, picked up Mianmian, and avoiding the other monks in the Temple, headed first to the nearest Side Hall.

In this hall, they venerated Maitreya Buddha.

The chubby Buddha was bare-chested and seated in the center, with white candles on either side as the only light source. The eyes painted on the statue fixated on Su Chenjin the moment he stepped inside.
