Chapter 256: Chapter 255: The Monkey’s Qi-filled Laughter
Before reaching the Su Family Manor, Yang Xian hadn’t expected it to be so luxurious.
To enter the manor, you needed a vehicle just to reach the residences.
The residences were even equipped with elevators, to facilitate movement for those inside.
But even with elevators on each floor, moving between flat expanses was a hassle due to the vast distances involved.
When the Su Family invited them to eat, the dining hall itself seemed larger than a restaurant.
"You’re called Yang Xian, right? A fine young man," the Old Lady Su smiled, using serving chopsticks to place a piece of meat into Yang Xian’s bowl, "but too skinny, eat more."
Elder Su could hardly contain himself; he had always enjoyed works of fantasy and cultivation like "The Investiture of the Gods" and "Journey to the West," and when he heard that Little Auntie might have encountered the reincarnation of Yang Jian, he was particularly excited.
Now, seeing Yang Xian in person, he directly asked, "Young man, are you really the reincarnation of Yang Jian?"
As Elder Su spoke, Old Lady Su kicked him under the table in an attempt to stop him, but she failed to prevent his words.
Earlier, when the eldest son had told them, he mentioned that although Yang Xian could resonate with Yang Jian’s divine statue in that cave, he didn’t want to be Yang Jian and insisted on being himself.
Now the old man was asking, without fear of making the guest uncomfortable.
If he wasn’t Yang Jian, it wouldn’t matter, but what if he actually is Yang Jian in the future? What if he becomes a fairy alongside Little Auntie, and because they weren’t satisfied with Little Auntie, they offended him?
After all, they are fairy predecessors!
In her heart, Old Lady Su was merely worried that her Little Auntie, if she truly became a heavenly fairy in the future, would be bullied in heaven, which is why she was so concerned.
She looked at Yang Xian anxiously, trying to read his attitude from the young man’s face.
Yang Xian, however, wasn’t angry.
He said coolly, "I am me, and have nothing to do with Yang Jian, the Erlang God!"
Elder Su laughed heartily, "Ha ha ha, forgive this old man for talking too much. Ah, it’s just that my childlike innocence remains; I have always loved these stories. Yang Jian, the Great Saint Qi Tian Sun Wukong, the Third Prince Nezha, they are all my favorite mythical characters."
Yang Xian: "Hmm, I like Sun Wukong too."
Elder Su’s passion for talking was ignited by that single statement, and he promptly took Yang Xian to his personal collection room to view his collectibles.
Inside, there were surprisingly many action figures of mythological characters, all lifelike within their glass cases.
Yang Xian was familiar with action figures; he had taken various odd jobs to earn money, including working at comic conventions.
Action figures were really expensive. Having a cabinet full of them at home was enough for someone to be respectfully called a Boss.
In Elder Su’s case, it filled an entire 100 square meter room.
"Don’t be fooled by my age, I’m well-versed in the things young people like," Elder Su said proudly, "I used to manage Little Auntie’s Instagram account, you know that?"
Yang Xian was silent.
He had seen netizens discussing how Mianmian’s Instagram account had many photos – they were all posted by Elder Su?
"Since you like Sun Wukong, pick one to take with you," Elder Su generously offered. "It’s rare for me to find a young person willing to talk about these things."
Yang Xian was initially reluctant to take one, but Elder Su said, "Young man, you should respect the feelings of us elderly. You were controlled by a Fox Demon and were supposed to harm Little Auntie, but you still chose to protect her when you fell. You took care of this old man’s Little Auntie. It’s just a small personal reward from me; pick one."
With the conversation reaching that point, Yang Xian chose the smallest one.
The Sun Wukong he chose wore a red cape and held the Golden Hoop Stick, pointing to the heavens, declaring war with an arrogant expression.
Holding the Sun Wukong figure, he followed a servant to where he would sleep for the night.
As soon as he arrived, he was stopped in his tracks by Roses’s enthusiastic greeting.
"Yang Xian, little brother, you’re back~ Oh my, just look at that face. It’s such a shame to cover it with theatrical makeup when it’s so handsome on its own." Rose wore a modern red dress, low-cut at the chest, which highlighted her fair skin and lovely figure even more conspicuously.
Yang Xian frowned, "Don’t come near me, I don’t like women getting close to me."
When he frowned like that, a deadly aura appeared.
Rose shivered and instinctively hid behind Green’s petite body, fearfully asking as she clung to Green’s shoulder, "He’s not really the reincarnation of Erlang Shen, is he? This aura of murder, I’m truly frightened~"
Green shrugged, "What’s there to be scared of? Even if he is, later on you can boast that you flirted with Erlang Shen, isn’t that great?"
Little Bun, sharp-eyed, noticed the mini Sun Wukong in Yang Xian’s hand and exclaimed in shock, "Why do you have that in your hand?"
Yang Xian actually didn’t like talking with people.
If he’d liked interacting, he wouldn’t have spent so many years without a fixed place to call home.
Even now, with non-humans talking to him and asking questions non-stop, he found it slightly annoying.
"Elder Su gave it to me," Yang Xian replied, "I remember the Servant said this room was arranged for me."
"Oh, the eviction notice has been served," Rose said, looking at Phoenix Fairy, "Phoenix Fairy is so much better, so obedient and with such a sweet smile."
Phoenix Fairy couldn’t be bothered with Rose anymore and floated over to Yang Xian to give her respects, "Mr. Yang, I hope you have a good night’s sleep tonight."
After finishing, she floated away.
Yang Xian then looked at Green and Rose.
Both big and small shrugged simultaneously, indicating their boredom with Yang Xian, and then floated out of his room.
After everyone had left, Yang Xian didn’t go straight to bed.
He stood on the balcony looking over the Su Family’s Garden, and surprisingly, under the moonlight, he spotted a pomegranate tree that emitted a strange qi.
Underneath the tree, a Snake Demon child was spitting out its inner pill, apparently feeding something back to the tree.
The kid had gathered quite a collection of demons and ghosts, hadn’t they?
Yang Xian placed the figurine on the bedside table and lay down, closing his eyes.
The next morning, he showed up at the dining table with dark circles under his eyes.
Mianmian expressed her concern, "Yang Xian, Yang Xian, did you not sleep well last night? Those dark circles are pretty severe."
Yang Xian rubbed his brow and, under the concerned gaze of Little Bun, revealed the truth, "I don’t know why, but last night I dreamt of Sun Wukong. He kept pulling me along to drink, and his monkey laughter filled my head."
Curious, Mianmian asked, "Why would you dream about Sun Wukong?"
Green, sitting on Mianmian’s shoulder, supplied the explanation, "He picked up a little Sun Wukong statue last night. Daytime thoughts become nighttime dreams, I guess~ It’s only right Sun Wukong laughed at him. I want to laugh too, haha."
His third eye was open, yet he wouldn’t admit he was Erlang Shen, treating the Sun Wukong statue like a toy.
Who wouldn’t laugh at that?
Mianmian told Green not to laugh, and there was nothing wrong with Yang Xian liking the little statue!
"If Yang Xian likes it, he likes it, let’s just let him sleep in the car later."
But he didn’t even take the car!
Today, they traveled by helicopter.
"The Ranch is a bit far," Su Chenjin explained to Mianmian, "Taking a plane is quicker."
