Chapter 346: Chapter 75 Training in the Needle Cage【Two-in-One】_2 Chapter 346: Chapter 75 Training in the Needle Cage【Two-in-One】_2 So much so that in the wee hours of the second day, the instructor took everyone through the previous day’s drills for a total of four or five times. Feng Yin, as a result, got kicked a good seventeen or eighteen times…
Er, this was actual progress compared to yesterday. He didn’t get kicked nearly as often!
Then, Heavenly Judge started to pull out all his crazy training tools – six hundred and sixty-six cages appeared out of the blue in the square.
The cages weren’t your usual cages. They were specially made, full of spikes on the insides that were sharp enough to pierce anything.
“Those with pets, release them so they don’t accidentally get hurt,” the instructor declared.
With a brief thought, Feng Yin summoned Feng Ying from his pocket. The Leopard Cat lazily stirred, jutting its head out before promptly falling back into the pocket, and then following Feng Yin’s directions, it transformed from a little critter into a creature that looked like a cross between a cat and a small leopard.
In any case, this small pet beast, covered in all colors, silently climbed out and stood in front of Feng Yin.
The instructor paused upon seeing this: “What in the world is that? A cat? Or a leopard?”
Feng Yin quickly added: “A cataleopard!”
“You’re full of crap!”
The instructor balked. “Are you telling me I’m stupid? It’s clearly a Leopard Cat!”
“Yes, you’re absolutely right. You’re so wise and knowledgeable. It’s a Leopard Cat indeed.”
“Send it to the side. Although pets are crucial partners of every cultivator and part of their strengths, the day to train pets has yet to arrive. What you should now focus on is improving yourselves. Having them around will only stand in the way,” the instructor stated, finality ringing in his words.
There was no room for negotiation. Even Feng Ying had to reluctantly step away from Feng Yin and meander over to the shade of a tree. As it did so, it brought out its claws and bared its teeth at the instructor, clearly disgruntled.
The instructor shot it a curious glance: “You scrawny little thing… not too bad.”
He was fully aware of his daunting aura, not concealing his domineering presence at all. Even though this was meant as an absolute suppressor to his students, Feng Yin’s leopard cat showed a shocking lack of fear, practically itching for a fight. It was definitely not a typical Leopard Cat, there must be something more to it.
But since Feng Yin claimed it was a Leopard Cat, that would have to do. Pets were one of the cultivators’ most private secrets, it was completely normal to be tight-lipped about them.
And so, it was recorded: Feng Yin, one Leopard Cat.
The other attendees started to release their battle pets. As contract killers from all walks of life, not many possessed the qualifications or strength to own battle pets. There were only around a dozen of them. Considering the number of attendees, the ratio was almost thirty to one.
Aside from that, they were all tiny creatures possessing deadly toxins. If you were bitten by any of them, you’d be toast!
A few vibrantly colored snakes, a small white snake, a tiny black bird, a multi-colored spider, and more…
The largest among the battle pets was only about twice as large as Feng Ying. They were all dangerous toxins, capable of striking without making a sound and with deadly accuracy.
Soon, the group of toxic pets had gathered under a large tree, their beady eyes attentively focused on their respective owners.
What was surprising was the fact that the pets were all peacefully cohabitating under the tree, maintaining a safe distance from each other.
However, under the shade of the largest tree, only Feng Ying, er, the Leopard Cat, occupied the space. The other venomous pets dared not approach, clearly fearful or rather…too afraid to do so.
Feng Ying seemed to think nothing of these toxic creatures and flicked its tail lazily. With a leap, it climbed onto a branch and lay down for a nap. Its previous sleep had been rudely interrupted and now of course, it wanted to catch up. Nothing else mattered…
These odd circumstances caught the instructor’s attention once again but then, with gritted teeth, he bellowed, interrupting the attendees’ investigations,” Start today’s training!”
“Remember the positions I taught you yesterday? Can you use them freely now? It’s time to test you! Don’t just be satisfied with being able to use them, you need to apply them freely. Imprint the feel of it in your heart, incorporate it into your speech and actions, your every move!”
This left everyone dumbstruck: taught yesterday, tested today? Easily applied? Isn’t that moving a bit too fast?
Isn’t that expecting a bit too much?
But the instructor had already started moving.
“Everyone, stand still!”
Then they were told to move the cages. Each individual got one. Then, as swift as the wind, the instructor sealed everyone’s Dantian.
“See these cages?”
“Get in them yourselves!”
“What are you looking at? Those are for you. If you don’t want to get pricked, figure it out yourself.”
Then he walked up to Feng Yin and kicked him in the butt, “You first!”
Feng Yin was taken aback for a moment and before he could react, he received another kick, “What are you daydreaming about? Get in there now!”
Feng Yin, thrown off balance by the second kick, looked at the cage and shivered. Inside were the thin, tall, razor-sharp spikes. There was enough room inside for a person to fit but on the bottom, there was only enough space for two feet, the rest were all spikes!
Feng Yin stepped inside apprehensively. Standing on tiptoes over the spikes, he got a closer look of their lethal sharpness, feeling an icy chill run down his spine.
