Chapter 1003 - 1003 14 Two Great Victories 2 in 1

Chapter 1003: Chapter 14 Two Great Victories [2 in 1] Chapter 1003: Chapter 14 Two Great Victories [2 in 1] “Enemy attack!”

The Yan soldiers who first discovered the attack panicked, desperately howling to alert their own forces.

Regrettably, with flames blazing violently behind them, soldiers scrambling everywhere, horses chaotically running, and the firelight—cough, tongues of flame wildly spreading, how many heard the warning was uncertain, and not many could make a beneficial response anyway.

But upon Fei Xinyu’s fierce cry, he charged ahead on his horse.

With a sweep of his saber, over a dozen men were cleaved in two.

Then came a thunderous explosion, the Qin Army ferociously invaded the Yan encampment, killing anyone in sight and setting everything ablaze!

Countless soldiers of Yan State, many of whom still didn’t understand what was going on, were rudely awoken from their sleep by the chaos of shouting and horses neighing, and then were cut down, dying with expressions of utter confusion.

What the… just what happened? Am I dead already?

Leading his men from the front, Fei Xinyu killed over a hundred soldiers and seventeen horses within just a few hundred meters, steadily advancing towards the Yan Army commander’s tent.

Having the commander’s tent at the forefront during battle is a basic rule of engagement.

Given the hundreds of thousands of soldiers encamped over a vast area, if the commander is too far from the front lines, often times it is too late to react or to issue orders swiftly, a widely acknowledged common sense.

But in the current situation, it turned out to be the most unfortunate factor for the Yan commander, directly affecting the outcome of the battle.

The Yan commander, who had just been helped up by his guards to catch his breath, suddenly heard the clamor of battle intensify and began to issue orders, inquiring what was happening and making a response.

However, he was horrified to realize that aside from his personal guards, there was no one else available—his officers were each trying their best to soothe their own troops, working desperately to settle the current upheaval—a rampaging army is no trivial matter and needed immediate and personal attention to resolve.

“Sound the drums!!”

The Great Marshal’s eyes flashed with despair as he barked the order.

He already knew that massive defeat was now unavoidable; all he could do was to minimize the losses.

But by the time he heard Fei Xinyu’s roaring scream already close by, the entirety of his being felt like it had plunged into an icy pit.

The Ghost General was coming!

Aside from his foul mouth, Fei Xinyu was notoriously ruthless, always embodying utter annihilation in his wake!

And he was the enemy that now stood before him!

Heaven has abandoned us!

The Yan Army’s war drums thunderously sounded in chaotic and urgent beats, but they eventually brought some semblance of order to the chaotic scene.

However, amidst the drumming of the Yan, Fei Xinyu, with overwhelming momentum, led a few hundred men on a forceful charge breaking through the encampment, and like a shooting star, he came charging forward on his horse with his saber brandished.

The earth-shaking drumbeats seemed like cheerleading for Fei Xinyu.

A man on his horse descended from the sky, swinging his saber in succession, and with each sweep, several heads tumbled away into the distance.

His saber danced through the enemy, and none could withstand it!

Catching a glimpse of a disheveled figure fleeing, Fei Xinyu wasted no words and with a single slash, he cut the Yan commander and two guards into six pieces.

Then he began searching all around, determined to find the Yan commander who should be ‘adorned with a marshal’s helmet and holding a command arrow, imposing and dignified.’

But after searching and failing to find him, Fei Xinyu could only keep slaughtering while searching, confirming again and again that the man was no longer there.

Well, Fei Xinyu couldn’t be said to be wrong in his conclusion, after all, the Yan commander was indeed no longer of this world, and of course not present!

But unaware of this, Fei Xinyu was furiously enraged!

Dammit, with your soldiers fighting to the death, how could you, the commander, run away?

Fleeing at the first sign of trouble, is that the conduct of a commander?

Fueled by righteous indignation, he swung his saber even more wildly, slaughtering as he charged forward, picking up speed.

He didn’t use his usual tactic of falsely claiming the enemy commander was dead, out of fear that the Yan commander might get too far away or be alerted.

Perhaps because of this, many of the Yan soldiers in the distant left wing and further back were still embroiled in utter chaos, unaware that the battle had begun.

They continued their utmost efforts to call out, to stop, to calm…

And Fei Xinyu and his men pursued and slaughtered with all their might!

“Anyone can escape, but Yang Zifei must not!”

“With such a prime opportunity, if he still escapes, can I, Fei Xinyu, still claim to be a valiant warrior of the army?”

“He must be captured alive! Definitely alive!”

“Charge!”

Fei Xinyu rushed forward, swinging his saber as if possessed.

Fei Xinyu’s relentless pursuit to kill the Yan commander, Yang Zifei, was not just for personal glory, but because he knew all too well the consequences of the commander remaining alive. His forces, although numbering only five thousand, were far too few compared with the Yan Army.

If he gave the enemy a chance to regroup, once Yang Zifei held his central forces, he would quickly form an effective fighting force and counterattack. Even with an unfavorable start, with his proven battlefield command abilities, he could still trap Fei Xinyu’s forces!

And this was the key to the overall victory or defeat of the war.

How could Fei Xinyu not be anxious, knowing this?

Of course, what he never expected was that the person he had slain so effortlessly, looking so wretched and not offering any resistance, turned out to be the Great Marshal of the Yan Army himself.
