Ashen Dragon
Chapter 754 - Chapter 754 Chapter 120 Crush

Chapter 754: Chapter 120 Crush Chapter 754: Chapter 120 Crush At the northern end of the Aisier Plain, where it borders with Cartapa, lies the Riverfield Valley.

A scout team of several hundred is stationed here, keeping a close eye on every move of the Ashen Empire, ready to defend at a moment’s notice.

They once belonged to the Thrace Kingdom, but several months ago, Wilhelm granted all of North Aisier to Duke Walter, and they pledged their loyalty to this renowned “Fadelan’s Wings.”

They still wear the winged Sun Holy Emblem of the Thrace Kingdom, ride tall horses, and hold long-barreled double-barreled firearms–without a doubt, these have been imported from the Ashen Empire.

In recent years, the wars among the Three Great Kingdoms have intensified, and the people of the Fianso Continent have recognized the advantages of these firearms: long-range, high killing power, and very low usage threshold.

As the situation evolves and war’s impact spreads, people have been purchasing weapons from the Ashen Empire from those greedy Wojin merchants to protect themselves; firearms have become quite widespread in Fianso.

These former Fadlan People do not know that the Gold Coins in their pockets are flowing into the coffers of the Klaubow Armament Group of the Ashen Empire, funding the development and production of even more advanced and deadly weapons.

And… they will soon be applied to themselves, becoming their nightmare.

Piotr McGrath is still the captain of this scout team; years ago, they almost clashed with the Ashen Empire’s vanguard.

“Gents, the situation seems to have gotten more tense.”

This Transcendent Warrior raised the Silver Sword in his hand, pointing its tip towards the North, his expression exceedingly grave.

Look, starting the day before yesterday, Bipedal Wyverns, Giant Eagles, and some other ugly beasts I have never seen before have been circling Tahan City.

And there is a deep, dull noise coming from inside the city that I’ve never heard before, as if some sort of terrifying Monster is growling.

In recent days, even the ground nearby has been trembling abnormally, shaking; I always have a bad feeling.”

His adjutant said with a trace of worry: “Boss, do you think… could it be that their Emperor–the Red Dragon–has arrived?”

Piotr shook his head with composure: “It shouldn’t be that soon, Anzeta Great Wilderness, the homeland of the Ashen Empire, is far from North Aisier, and there are mountain ranges and hills in the way.

To transport their troops, and all their supplies to Tahan City, and to complete all their war preparations, it will take at least one to two months.

By then, the aid requested by Lord Walter will have arrived from all over the world, Angels from Heavenly Mountain, the Mage consortium from the City of Thousand Laws, and it is said that a tremendously powerful Gold Dragon, revered as ‘Dragon of Dawn’, has descended upon Collins City.”

Piotr gripped the scout’s Silver Sword tightly, looking towards the South with a steadfast gaze and a firm and resolute tone.

“Lord Walter is one of the rare Divine Descendant Nobles who firmly remembers the glory of Fadlan, adhering to the old Emperor’s teachings. I believe–the side of justice will surely prevail, no matter how powerful that Red Dragon is, it is ultimately isolated and weak.”

“Boss… Boss…”

Suddenly, the adjutant beside him looked up in terror, pointing tremblingly at the sky as if he saw something horrifying.

“What’s wrong?”

Piotr noticed the abnormality in his adjutant’s behavior, swiftly turned his head, and then he, too, froze in place.

“What in the world is…”

Looking towards Tahan City in the distance, hundreds of Sub-dragons, Bipedal Wyverns, and Chimeras took to the skies, chaotically flapping their wings, gathering into a rolling cloud mass in the sky, casting mottled shadows down on the ground.

“Augh–”

The hoarse, noisy roars arose, and the Monsters in the sky seemed to have noticed the Scout Team, beginning to roar angrily at them.

“Oh Amanata!”

“They’ve spotted us!”

The Soldiers exclaimed in panic, some fumbling clumsily.

While Pitao swung himself onto the back of a horse, raised his Silver Sword high, and commanded loudly, “We must retreat! Make sure to get the message out to the South!”

As an experienced military man, Pitao’s actions undoubtedly stabilized the morale of his troops; the Soldiers quickly collected their necessary gear, mounted their war horses, and galloped across the flat, open Aisier Plain.

Their horses’ hooves chaotically struck the ground, producing crisp, dense sounds, and Pitao controlled the direction of the team from the very front.

Just then, the ground began to tremble, the horses neighed in panic, and even reared up, forcefully stopping, throwing Soldiers with less refined Riding Skill off their backs, causing some disorder among the scouts.

“Ah!”

“Help! Stop!”

“Damn it, the horseshoes are going to trample me!”

Pitao pulled the reins, turned his head sharply, and he was well aware that the trembling of the ground was definitely not caused by the horses.

However, as he opened his mouth and his face went blank with a hint of despair, he muttered, “By Amanata, how could there be…”

“Boom–”

Off in the distance, the ground shook, dust rose, smoke obscured the sun, and towering iron behemoths roared as they broke through the smokescreen, attacking them.

Everything in front of the steel monsters–stones, trees, wild beasts, and even dirt mounds were ruthlessly crushed, offering negligible resistance.

The adjutant, seeing those steel monsters drawing closer, cried out in terror: “Boss! How can there be such Monsters!”

“Oh Amanata!”

“Scourge! This is like a mobile Scourge!”

“Damn it! Just a few years ago, there were no such monsters in Tahan City!”
