Chapter 85: Arlette, are you…? *
Chapter 85: Arlette, are you...? *
Arlette chuckled right as she was coming down from her orgasmic high.
"What’s funny?" Caius asked with a smile.
Arlette looked down at him with his face an inch from her breast,
"Let’s assume I even manage to teach. What would be the point when you’ll clearly not be paying attention?"
Caius looked like he had given that a bit of thought and grinned.
"I’m actually crazy good at multitasking," he said and he was sucking on her again.
Arlette laughed again. His mouth on her felt ticklish and her sensitivity was driving that home even harder. Eventually, she let out a sigh that came out as a long breath followed by a trembling of her body with arousal.
"If anyone should care about the Divinity of Dark Magic, it’s you as a Vampire," Arlette managed to say with barely any moaning interruption from herself. She looked at Caius expecting a reaction but he kept at what he was doing, looking like he already knew about this.
"Go on, I’m listening," Caius said, "’Crazy good at Multitasking’ remember?"
As he said that, Caius undid the rest of her gown and pulled up off her body to pull it off of her. His hand touched her underwear, his finger tracing over the patch of moistness that had gotten larger and more pronounced following her recent climax before he moved his hand up to her flat, toned stomach, his touch light and arousing.
He was lying down on her body again, his mouth taking up the breast he hadn’t sucked on so far while his hand squeezed the other and his thigh rocked against Arlette’s pussy, helping her ride out the post-orgasmic spasms still rolling through her.
Arlette opened her mouth to speak but it caught in the back of her throat and a moan came out instead of words. She stopped it as quickly as she could and cleared her throat before she tried again and found her words this time,
"Vampires only exist because of Anyxyl, the Goddess of Primal Darkness. The first of your kind was ’born’ of her essence and charged with corrupting more into her fold. It’s why you lot can’t have affinities with Light Magic." f|ree(w)ebn\o.vel.com
"See?" Caius said, "I told you, you could do it."
Arlette let out a breathy sigh. One she had been holding all through her speech and her inner muscles clenched hard at powerful pleasurable sensations they had been forced not to feel just so she could speak.
"I gotta say, I didn’t believe you," Arlette said with a little laugh.
Plus, it turned out that resisting her pleasure/arousal only made them feel even better when she finally allowed herself to enjoy them again. Who knew?!
"So we have Anyxyl to thank for being such horrible parasitic monsters," Caius said in amusement and biting especially hard on Arlette’s nipple causing get to cry out.
"Ah, you Ass!" She said and slapped him lightly on the shoulder with one hand even though her other hand was holding the back of his head to encourage him to bite even harder.
A minute of Caius’ antics passed as Arlette tried to get into the mindset to teach again while staving off a climax that was rolling close and hard.
"You have more than that to thank her for. The reason you can survive in the dark without a ’Moonstone Ring’ is because of her too," she said.
"Really?" Caius asked, "I thought that was because the sun is down at night."
"Technically, yes. But there’s still Moonlight, not as harsh but still under the benevolence of the Goddess of Divine Light.
In a way, the reason Vampires are safe after Dark is because of the ’Night’. It’s one of Anyxyl’s domains and it essentially coats you in her embrace."
"Makes sense. But won’t be needed if she didn’t make Vampires exist in the first place," Caius said with a little chuckle.
"Are you complaining?" Arlette asked, staring down at him.
Caius smiled.
"Of course not."
Arlette laughed and then moaned and groaned even though she tried to speak through it still,
"Ahnnn- Right there!— Nghh— Yeah, I mean— I suppose you can say it’s her fault. But Anyxyl has never been what you’ll consider a ’Kind’ Goddess. She certainly doesn’t do things just for the good of it.
The first of your kind wanted power and to be unbound from the rules that govern power for its fellow mortals.
She gave that but with caveats;
You lot can now advance and grow stronger with Bloodsucking and don’t have to bother with the Arcane Codex like the rest of us Peons.
You also have an unlimited lifespan regardless of your Magic Circle which means you essentially have eternity to improve your strength at your own pace.
In exchange, she claims your souls from the moment you’re turned. You all, for as long as you live your immortal lives and even after you perish, belong to her.
There will be no flourishing afterlife for you. No rebirth. You’re hers to do with as she pleases."
This was one of those things that sounded more bleak than they were in actuality. At least as far as Caius was concerned. Despite a lack of in-depth details, he already knew of all this through [To Kill A Demon Lord...].
Anyxyl, with all the Domains and concepts she commanded and presided over, had so much more to do and worry about than using Vampires to accomplish her goals. If anything, she had much more powerful forces than that. Actual divine forces that would wage war for her.
The tale of her creating the First Vampire was more than her wanting to use one person’s greed for power to amass a force. Instead, it was more a story of spite;
Anyxyl and the Goddess of Divine Light are Divine Sisters. They came into being together, struggling for dominance, and have forever been at each other’s necks and kept score all throughout their existence and before the creation of the world as it was.
The First Vampire worshiped the Goddess of Divine Light and, after a series of events and frustrations against its patron, it turned to Anyxyl who welcomed it just to spite her sister.
The First Vampire was charged, not just with corrupting more into her fold, but specifically corrupting other worshipers of the Goddess of Divine Light. With each soul damned, Anyxyl added one to the ever-constant score-keeping she had going on against her sister.
In the hundreds of thousands of years since, the two Divine Sisters had moved on to other things as they tend to do so boredom doesn’t swallow them and they lose sight of how much they hate each other.
As for the soul collecting and the lack of rebirth stuff, well, Caius was of the mind that you only have to worry about that if you see death in your future. He did not. That was why he was here after all; To change that shitty ending Caius was dealt at the end of [To Kill A Demon Lord...]
As Caius was thinking about this, his touching of Arlette slowed and she gained the clarity to speak the best she had today.
"It’s not only Vampires who have given their souls up to the Dark Lady, by the way. If anything, of all her followers, you lot might have gotten the best deal.
The rest have to try and understand her through the ever-mind-breaking Arcane Codex. It’s torture. As, admittedly, can be her way," she said in a somber voice.
"Are you included in ’the rest’?" Caius asked.
"Maybe," Arlette said.
"Maybe?" Caius asked with a raised brow but Arlette was averting her eyes now so he pulled up her body so he was looking into her eyes,
"Arlette, how do you know so much about all this?"
It dawned on Caius that all that Arlette had told him was such core knowledge that was only ever explored in [To Kill A Demon Lord...] when Aurelius or Caius ever encountered a specific set of people...
"Arlette, are you a member of the Dark Church?"
... The devotees who dedicated their lives to the worship of Anyxyl, the Goddess of Primal Darkness.
