As a Fisherman, My Fish Can Level Up
Chapter 543 - 340: Poseidon Mode

Chapter 543: Chapter 340: Poseidon Mode

On the sandy beaches of the deserted island, the pirate had already woken up. While clutching his face and repeatedly cursing Chu Mingcheng, he covered his face and muttered "Shaha Shaha."

Not until the sun had made him dizzy and his stomach was frantic with hunger did he dejectedly make his way back to his camp.

What he didn’t know was that, on the other side of the island, Chu Mingcheng was happily collecting his extended fishing lines.

As expected, the Philippines Sea had a high potential for exploration. There weren’t many fish caught with the five extended lines, just over two hundred and thirty pounds, but they had added five experience points to his total.

So now, the experience points for the seafood handbook had reached forty, only sixty species away from an upgrade.

After sorting all the fish into the refrigerator compartment, Chu Mingcheng set off towards the first fishing spot.

A few hours passed and he arrived at his destination. After lunch, he lowered the extended lines into the water to catch more fish.

This time he still bought fifty foam boxes. Although he hadn’t deliberately stocked up on supplies, it didn’t mean he would be foolish enough not to use the fishing gear on board.

Diving into the water, Chu Mingcheng, even accustomed to the beauty of coral reefs, was still captivated by the underwater scenery every time.

After briefly admiring it, he then turned his attention to the fish among the coral reefs.

Of course, he was also mindful of mollusks and snails, which he rarely caught; they should be easier to increase his experience points.

Flapping his legs, he carefully searched for aquatic products he hadn’t yet caught. But when he turned over a huge boulder, a cluster of decently sized fish came into his view.

The fish were unfamiliar to him, and after recalling the encyclopedic information in his mind, he realized these fish were not in the data he had reviewed.

Drawing closer, he found that the biggest of these fish had grown to one meter.

At the moment, they were feeding, but their method of doing so was beyond his expectations.

The fish’s mouth could extend outward, functioning like a vacuum cleaner. It sucked an octopus, which was firmly gripping the coral reef, straight into its mouth and then swallowed it whole.

Such a powerful suction, this fish shouldn’t appear in India.

After a moment of amazement, Chu Mingcheng cocked his spear gun, aimed at the largest fish, then slowly approached, gauging its movements before decisively pulling the trigger.

The fish arrow pierced through the fish’s chest instantly, passing straight through.

Startled, the school of fish scattered, leaving only the unlucky one circling in place and struggling.

Instead of forcefully pulling the fish line to reel it in, Chu Mingcheng swam over and grabbed the fish by its face.

Only then, through the gaping mouth of the fish, did he notice that it was toothless.

This... somehow feels like India would be happier!

The fish’s back was very thick, looking like it would be tasty, and his experience points successfully increased by one.

Chu Mingcheng didn’t find any other aquatic products he hadn’t captured for a while, so he simply continued to hunt eleven more of these fish and returned to the ship.

After storing the fish properly, he took out his cellphone to look it up.

Only then did he learn that the fish was called toothless mullet, a species with a very nice flavor, found in the extreme southern part of the South Sea in China, but only with a very small probability.

In the following two days, Chu Mingcheng visited all of the eleven fishing spots he had found before.

He even personally dived into the deep-water area, hunting deep sea fish he hadn’t encountered before.

Of course, he didn’t plan to bring back those deep sea fish he hunted; he would either eat them himself or keep them for feeding pets temporarily.

However, during the next day, Chu Mingcheng didn’t find any new aquatic products, and his experience points were fixed at seventy-six.

He still needed twenty-four new species to upgrade, and he had almost exhausted all the fishing spots he had found.

Even if there were fish that had slipped through the net, it probably wasn’t possible to complete the upgrade task in a short time, so Chu Mingcheng decided to change locations.

He opened the map, and first, he looked to the south because it was close and the biodiversity was abundant.

But considering that most of the southern species were also present in the Philippines Sea, unless he went to the southern hemisphere.

But that was too far away, with only five days left until the relocation feast, and he could only spend at most three days on the open sea before he had to return.

This special sea expedition to upgrade the fishing handbook would leave him somewhat resentful and always preoccupied with the task if he couldn’t finish it.

In the end, Chu Mingcheng decided to head to the Public Sea near Japan, where the shipwreck was located.

The cold-water seafood didn’t seem as plentiful as the tropical variety, but since he had almost never cared for the aquatic species of the cold waters to the north, upgrading should be quite easy.

It would just cost more fuel, but the abundant Green Coins he had looted meant he didn’t need to feel distressed.

Chu Mingcheng sailed at full speed for the first time and reached the northern part of the Western Pacific in just one day.

He first found an international oil tanker to fill up on diesel, then he arrived at the shipwreck site.

Last time he was only focused on finding things, and he hadn’t caught many of the fish residing inside the ship.

This time he took his spear gun and went through the inside of the shipwreck again.

To his surprise, the variety of fish inside was plentiful, and after returning to the Sea God, his experience points unexpectedly reached ninety-one, leaving only nine species to catch to upgrade.

Now Chu Mingcheng was completely pressure-free, as catching nine new species would be relatively easy.

Checking the time, it was just after nine in the morning, so he simply sailed around the sea surface, looking for schools of fish.

He continued northward, and after more than an hour, his fish finder detected some large fish in a location where the water was more than three hundred meters deep.
