Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus
Chapter 490 - 469: Saying Goodbye to Him (Extra 1/10)

After the storm of slaughter, the blood rain ceased.

Bodies littered the ground, fresh blood flowing in silence everywhere.

Old Qin held a somewhat blunt kitchen knife, its uneven blade still dripping with blood.

He walked over to where he had been and picked up the bundled curtains.

Approaching Li Yu, he leaned slightly, speaking with a tone of gratitude, "Thank you."

Ah Hong and the others also came forward, uniformly saying to Li Yu and the rest, "Thank you."

Li Yu hastily responded, "We're all in this together, no need for so many thanks. Please, it's nothing."

Then glancing at Third Uncle, he said, "Let's head back now. The people in the factory are waiting for you."

When he finished speaking, Li Tie's voice came through the earpiece, "This building has been checked. There's nothing and no one left."

Li Yu replied, "Alright, go down and set fire to that place on the third floor we were just at. Then head downstairs to meet up with Tianlong and the others. Wait for us outside."

Then he said to Li Hang, "Let's burn this place too."

Li Hang, along with a few others, pulled down the curtains, draped them over the furniture, and lit them on fire.

Flames began to flicker, and soon the entire room was filling with thick smoke.

Everyone looked on for a few seconds before Li Yu said, "We need to go now."

Old Qin nodded and then proceeded to walk downstairs.

Li Yu, walking last, turned to look back at the corpses strewn on the ground once more. He had seen clearly that none were likely to have survived.

After coming out, Li Yu locked the conference hall door, removed the key, and threw it to the ground.

Then, he hurried downstairs.

Even if no one was alive, it was better to be safe.

Reaching the ground floor, dense smoke filled the upper levels, seeping out through the window cracks.

Li Yu glanced at it and then shifted his gaze.

Old Qin glimpsed at the people detained by Yang Tianlong. They were not from the factory; he did not recognize them.

So he said to Li Yu, "We don't know these two people."

Li Yu nodded, thinking that the White Lotus Sect often captured people from outside, wondering if these two were recent abductees.

Just as he was about to ask, one of the two captives spoke up, "Who exactly are you, and why did you tie us up? We are followers of the White Lotus Sect. What have you done? There's a fire upstairs; aren't you going to put it out? Quickly, release me."

Alright, no need to ask then.

Li Yu turned to Yang Tianlong and said, "Kill them. We're pressed for time. We will go start the cars."

Leading the others, they headed towards the vehicles.

Before reaching the cars, two screams were heard.

Then they saw Yang Tianlong running towards them.

They got into the car.

Ignition, start.

Amid the roaring engine, the group made their way outside.

Li Yu rolled down the car window and glanced back at the towering building, now consumed by an even fiercer blaze.

Smoke drifted with the wind.

After a glance, Li Yu withdrew his gaze and surreptitiously watched Old Qin sitting behind him, quiet and downcast, staring at the package in front of him.

In the car, Li Yu pondered the fight between Old Qin's group and the cultists. He was well aware of their strength.

Truly elites, even his own workmates had displayed formidable abilities.

With Third Uncle's endorsement and the day's experiences, Li Yu felt they could be incorporated into the base.

But he also considered a problem—public affairs should not compromise private interests.

When the base started cooperating with outsiders, the conditions of joining had been made clear. After standardization, everything was to be based on contributions.

They couldn't just let them join and enter the Inner City.

After all, there were still over twenty other people besides those allied with Third Uncle.

These people were strong, and Li Yu would worry if they were to enter the base's Inner City recklessly.

On the other hand, there were currently four levels outside Old Qin's group, with many collaborations and Extra Staff.

They've been working hard to improve their points, so it wouldn't be fair to give Old Qin's group special treatment just because they're Third Uncle's comrades.

Of course, the base currently operates under Li Yu's say.

If Li Yu insists, nobody could prevent him from bringing them into the Inner City.

It was feasible, but unnecessary.

Li Yu found himself with a headache, trying to find a way to incorporate Old Qin's group without inciting claims of unfairness from the Extra Staff.

While he was thinking, the vehicle quickly arrived outside the Lathe Operator factory.

At this point, Old Lü and the others had already transported the lathes and other items onto the trucks.

He Bing and others were present too.

Seeing this, Li Yu suddenly had an idea. Although they couldn't directly join the base or enter it.

But they could be like He Bing and others, temporarily serving as Extra Staff.

Extra Staff were entitled to food, and with this haul of lathes that Old Qin's group had contributed, they could secure plenty of food, enough for these twenty or so people to eat for a while.

Moreover, before arriving at the White Lotus Sect's headquarters, Li Yu remembered that Ah Huang and his group had been compromised by the Sect while searching for resources and food.

This indicated that Old Qin's group was lacking food.

Well, food scarcity was all too common in this post-apocalyptic world.

After all, not every group could achieve self-sufficiency in food like Big Camphor Tree Base, able to live comfortably with enough to eat and wear.
