Chapter 752: Chapter 752 Conditions for the Call of Duty

Ever since the master Su Shu planted crops here, their growth had been excellent. But recently, why had all the crops in this field suddenly entered a "halted growth" state?

Unable to fathom the reason, it occasionally looked up to the sky with a frown creasing its fox face.

The Spiritual Energy in the space was diminishing, and it was clueless as to why.

After squatting by the field for a while, it returned to the yard and continued to curl up and lie down under the peach tree.

The spot where it lay was precisely where the Little Snake King was buried under the peach tree.

It had a general understanding of the situation outside the space.

Every time Su Shu and Tang Zelin came in, it followed them around. Initially, it wanted to go out and lend a hand to its owner. However, no sooner had it been brought outside than it was nearly suffocated by the foul air. Fortunately, Su Shu reacted quickly and sent it back to the space the next second.

Even so, the poisonous gas from outside left it feeling dizzy and queasy for many days.

Why were Su Shu and Tang Zelin unaffected, while it, as a fox that could be considered a deity of the animal world, could not cope? One could only imagine the fate of ordinary animals in those polluted zones.

The fox no longer clamored to offer its help.

Under these circumstances, it truly couldn’t be of assistance.

Nevertheless, it wasn’t completely unable to help.

Staying inside the space had its benefits: first, safety, and second, it could help Su Shu monitor the progress of the summons issued by the system.

Every so often, it would check on the progress bar over at the Little Mermaid’s.

The Little Mermaid was still hopping about on the sea surface. Had it not known that it was involved in a search and location process within the Apocalyptic Rescue System, it might have fancied making a fishhook, baiting it, and tossing it down to fish.

On the top right corner of the console, there was a long bar divided into red and blue sections.

Blue represented acceptance, red represented rejection.

That red clearly outweighed the blue.

This meant that, concerning the matter of saving lives, the brave ones ready to battle were ultimately in the minority.

The fox jumped onto a chair and focused on the progress bar.

After a period of busyness, the Little Mermaid entered its cooling period, which is to say, "resting time."

A carp leaped over the dragon gate and sat at the top left corner, out of the water.

The fox asked, "Is it done?"

The Little Mermaid replied, "Not yet. I’ve only completed the second search. I’ve shown the summons to the special abilities found and am waiting for their confirmation."

The fox pointed to the progress bar at the upper right of the screen.

"Looking at the progress bar, not many are willing to accept the summons."

The Little Mermaid said, "It’s not entirely about rejection. The system has certain standards for summoning Special Ability Warriors."

The fox queried, "Oh? There are standards?"

It had assumed that as long as one had a body that developed special mutations and an extraordinary immunity amid the Apocalypse, there shouldn’t be a problem. It seemed that wasn’t the case.

The Little Mermaid flicked her long hair and began to systematically enlighten the fox.

"First and foremost, the prerequisite for a Special Ability Warrior is to be human, experiencing a positive bodily transformation due to some cause in the midst of a crisis. These are rare events left by the Apocalyptic System while rebuilding destroyed cosmic planes. During the evolutionary process of each planar world, these minute accidental events that remain will also evolve alongside their respective planes.

Throughout evolution, we are unable to track when and where these accidents might happen. Precisely because they leave no trace, a portion of them are considered miracles by humans or, in other words, luck."
