Chapter 250: Chapter 249: Taking You to Flirt with Girls? (6) Chapter 250: Chapter 249: Taking You to Flirt with Girls? (6) Capital City, deep into the night, in an unremarkable alley, there lay a Nameless Club known only to a select few.

Those who came and went were either rich or noble, without a VIP membership card or a friend’s referral, no service was provided to the public.

The inconspicuous entrance door divided the world inside the club from the outside, creating two starkly different realms: one of hell, the other of paradise, one where life was a struggle, the other drowned in revelry.

In a semi-open private room adorned with opulence, a few pairs of young men and women sought pleasure together, and on the raised second floor, encircling the central stage, under the hazy neon lights, were people indulging in wild merriment.

On an expensive sofa, a man leaned back, legs crossed, gently swirling his glass of red wine.

The deep red wine reflected the dazzling neon lights, and the man’s narrow eyes lazily squinted as if in deep thought, or perhaps just lost in a daze.

The laughter and chatter of those around him seemed unrelated to him.

A friend came over and sat down beside him.

“Han, it’s so boring to drink alone, how about I find you a nice girl to keep you company?”

“No need,” Shen Han wasn’t interested.

“What are you thinking about? It’s hard enough to come out and have fun. Forget about all those troublesome matters outside, thinking about them won’t help,” Shen Ming said.

Shen Han looked at his younger cousin, “Don’t mind me, just enjoy yourselves, tell them I’ll take care of the bill today.”

“Really? Alright!” Shen Ming, upon hearing this, was delighted, stood up and shouted, “Come on, come on, good news, my cousin is picking up today’s tab!”

“Wow! Han is awesome! Love you, man!”

The crowd cheered loudly and called for the waiter, ordering several bottles of fine liquor.

Settling the bill at the Nameless Club wasn’t something just anyone could do; in this world, money was as dirt, and having it didn’t necessarily mean anything.

Money had no power here, but everyone knew that scions like Shen Han, with their connections, were the type of patrons the club welcomed most.

The Shen Family held some sway within Capital City.

Power, lurking in the darkness, was restless, always attracting those who caught its scent.

Shen Han narrowed his eyes, observing the life around him, no different from the hedonistic whirlwind before the Apocalypse. Ever since the Shen Family moved from their ancestral home to Capital City, Shen Han would occasionally come here to clear his mind. He couldn’t quite define his state of mind, but sometimes, when troubled, he’d find himself sitting here.

Pretending the Apocalypse had never arrived, that nothing had changed.

Shen Han watched the wine glass oscillate between his fingers, pondering a question.

Why do people change so easily?

There were things, people, he wanted to pretend he didn’t care about, yet he couldn’t get past that lump in his throat, a constant, hidden pain that he couldn’t shake off.

Wine, rich in aroma; people, better when they are familiar.

He didn’t know how this thought surfaced from the depths of his mind, but the moment it did, he felt a sudden twinge of pain in his chest.

Through the devil-may-care crowd, a tall and lean figure made his way to Shen Han.

“Young Master Han, there’s news from City C!”

The swirling wine glass suddenly stilled.

Shen Han lifted his head, “How is it, can we take over quickly?”

The man’s face was dark, seemingly troubled, he looked around cautiously and respectfully said, “Young Master Han, may I have a word in private?”

Shen Han’s gaze darkened, sensing something was amiss. He put down his glass and nodded to the side, “Come here.”

They moved to a secluded corridor, just wide enough for two, away from the frenzied crowd, making it easier to talk.
