Chapter 428: Eat a cake

Lin Murong, on a whim, had made himself a cream cake.

Lots of cream.

Even though he felt a bit nauseous at the moment, it wasn’t enough to stop him from eating.

"I’m being thoughtful of you," Su Yinhe said with an innocent look.

"Thanks for your thoughtfulness, but no thanks," he replied, not fooled by her agenda.

"Whatever, showing concern and you don’t want it, like a wild boar can’t appreciate fine bran," Su Yinhe now seemed quite lively.

"Who are you calling a wild boar?" Lin Murong looked at her in disbelief.

"Nobody. Who else could there be? I couldn’t possibly be talking about anyone," Su Yinhe said, spreading her hands.

"I always feel like you’re talking about me," Lin Murong stared at her, no, it wasn’t just a feeling, she was indeed talking about him.

Too bad he had no proof.

"Proof. I only believe in proof," Su Yinhe said, stretching out her hand toward him.

"It seems like there’s no proof," Lin Murong lowered his head, "But, I still can eat! Don’t take it away!" He had waited so eagerly for the duck, how could he let it just fly away?

"Okay, okay, I won’t take it, take your time eating," Su Yinhe was just teasing him, seeing him get anxious, she let him be.

Then Lin Murong began eating the duck. As he gazed at the duck, he remembered a soybean drink and instantly felt queasy again.

But, he couldn’t bear to stop. What if Galaxy actually took it away?

It was truly like the waters of West Lake, his tears.

To eat, how could he not eat?

This was his duck, the duck he had eagerly awaited.

Lin Murong continued devouring the duck ferociously.

Still, it was a bit nauseating.

But as he kept eating, the duck was too delicious, and he wasn’t nauseous anymore.

He began to enjoy eating again.

Su Yinhe quietly watched him eat, while Chi Yan was also quietly watching her.

The main thing was just watching each other.

Lin Murong felt a bit of pressure, but as he continued eating, he soon didn’t care anymore.

Look, look, just look.

Lin Murong’s appetite improved as he ate, and in the end, he actually finished all ten ducks.

"Amazing, you truly are amazing," Su Yinhe gave him a thumbs-up.

"Hehehe, just average, I think it’s alright," Lin Murong said and then let out a satisfied burp.

Su Yinhe: "..."

"Alright, the duck you wanted is finished; whoever ate should clean up," Lin Murong said after the meal left a mess.

"Oh, I’ll clean up, for sure," Lin Murong replied with an innocent look.

"Okay, then I’m going back to sleep. The cleaning is all yours," Su Yinhe said and then walked away with Chi Yan.

Lin Murong looked at the remaining mess, blinked his eyes, and thought, how come he always felt something wasn’t quite right.

He understood cleaning up his mess, but why did he have to clean even what they ate?

Both ate, so why should he clean and Chi Yan didn’t?

Chi Yan also ate Galaxy’s food, slept and stayed at Galaxy’s.

Why was the treatment different between them?

Both were men, and they looked almost alike.

Lin Murong kept pondering why Su Yinhe only fancied Chi Yan and not him.

He thought he wasn’t bad-looking either.

Even a bit better-looking than Chi Yan.

After much thinking, Lin Murong concluded that Su Yinhe had no taste.

She wasn’t okay.

Yeah.

It wasn’t his fault.

In life, one should avoid taking on blame and blame others instead.

That way, one could live happily and joyfully.

Blissfully happy...

Nah, he digressed.

He still had cleaning to do.

After all, he had eaten their ten ducks.

Thus, Lin Murong was quite diligent in his work.

How could he not be, since Eating from others softens the teeth.

After cleaning, he felt tired.

He looked around, figured there was nothing left to do, he had eaten his fill, and it was time to sleep.

Since Galaxy and others were also sleeping, what else could he do now but sleep...

Lin Murong went to sleep, and slept for a full day.

Su Yinhe didn’t see him all day.

She actually missed him a bit.

"Why are you always thinking about him? He’s not important, think less," Chi Yan was feeling jealous again.

Sometimes, he really wanted to get rid of Lin Murong.

An eyesore.

"Oh, I was just thinking randomly."

"Even thinking casually isn’t okay; thinking at all is not okay." Chi Yan said, gently touching her hair, not just patting her head, but lifting her strands gently and stroking them.

His touch was light, but his tone...

Hmm.

Su Yinhe quite liked it.

The man’s bass-heavy voice.

Although she wasn’t particularly fond of bass-heavy voices, this wasn’t just any bass-heavy voice; this was Chi Yan’s bass-heavy voice.

She... couldn’t resist it at all.

She had fallen in love.

"What do you mean, ’fallen in love’?" Chi Yan asked.

Crap, she accidentally blurted out her inner thoughts.

"Nothing, nothing, you heard wrong," Su Yinhe nearly exploded.

So embarrassing.

Accidentally voicing her thoughts was really embarrassing.

Su Yinhe ran away.

Chi Yan: "..."

Something felt off.

After Su Yinhe escaped Chi Yan’s sight, she covered her face, damn it, her mouth.

Sigh.

Ahhhhhhhh.

She wanted to die.

Wanted to die.

Kept thinking about dying.

Kept wanting to die.

Her toes curled in awkwardness.

Ahhhhhhhh.

She wanted to die, her desire to die peaked at that moment.

Why should people even live.

Tired, too tired, she was just too tired.

Su Yinhe thought for a while, ran back to her room, and lay down.

Sleep, just sleep, and when she woke up, she wouldn’t remember anything.

Good.

She’d forget.

Su Yinhe slept, woke up, freshened up, then pulled out some food from the storage space, ate, played a bit, and went back to sleep, then got up again...

And so, after Murong had slept through the day, he found out that his beloved Galaxy was missing.

"Brother Chi, where’s Galaxy?" He decided to ask Chi Yan directly.

"She ran away because she was shy," Chi Yan replied, giving Murong an answer he had thought about for a long time.

Yes, he had thought for a long time.

Until he finally understood why Su Yinhe suddenly ran away.

He’d thought she was scared.

It was good she wasn’t scared of him.

Chi Yan dropped this answer, then walked away satisfied.

Leaving Murong who had just woken up utterly confused.

Wait, what? Shy?

What the heck.

Shy about what?

Why would she be shy?

He hoped it wasn’t a part of some play between the two of them.

Murong shuddered at the thought.

Wait, he’d only slept for a day, how did it feel like something monumental had happened?

Their relationship couldn’t be progressing too fast, could it?

That couldn’t be good, right?

No way.

Murong roared inside his mind.

Why couldn’t he roar outright?

Because...

He was hungry.

He’d slept a day without eating, hunger woke him up.

If not for the hunger, he could’ve kept sleeping.

Darn it.

He couldn’t just roar; it would use up energy.

Now that Su Yinhe was gone, and with Chi Yan...

Forget it, he’d better just fend for himself.

The supermarket was so big, there was so much food, his cooking skills were so great, he could definitely feed himself.
