Apocalypse: I have a supermarket stocked with supplies
Chapter 292: I don’t want toys

Chapter 292: I don’t want toys

Su Linglong took Su An to the supermarket again.

"Boss," Su Linglong handed over all her gathered Crystal Cores to Su Yinhe, and after doing so, she still worried it might not be enough.

Su Yinhe: "???"

Su Yinhe was a bit confused.

"What are you doing?"

"This is for what we owed before..." Su Linglong looked at her and explained. After finishing, she somewhat embarrassingly lowered her head.

"You can consider those on the house," she said. She felt like doing a good deed occasionally.

"But..." Su Linglong did not want to take things for free.

She knew the food they had eaten before couldn’t be bought with the little Crystal Cores she had, but she still wanted to repay somehow.

"Alright, no buts. Take these Crystal Cores and use them. I don’t need them. But it looks like you two really do, so buy yourselves more food." The two of them were so skinny, she couldn’t bear to see them go hungry.

Sigh.

Her heart was just too kind.

Although Su Linglong insisted on giving the Crystal Cores to Su Yinhe, Su Yinhe refused and told them to use the Crystal Cores to buy food instead.

Su Linglong could only take them back and exchange them for money to buy goods.

Today, it wasn’t Su Yinhe who exchanged them, but Fangfang.

Su An followed closely by Su Linglong’s side, and his eyes clearly widened when he saw Fangfang, obviously very interested in the robot.

But he was obedient and sensible, and didn’t ask to touch it.

Though he really wanted to.

Perhaps all little boys find robots fascinating.

After seeing Fangfang, other things in the supermarket didn’t seem to attract him as much.

When Su Linglong took him into the supermarket to pick out items, he was somewhat reluctant.

"Come on, let’s go." Su Linglong could tell, and she felt a bit helpless.

If she could, she would definitely buy a robot for Su An.

But, that’s just not possible.

The boss’s robots looked very expensive, and with just a little bit of Crystal Cores, how could they afford one?

"When mom has money someday, I will definitely buy a big toy robot for our Anan."

"I don’t want toys," Su An replied sullenly.

"Why?"

"If we have money, we can buy more food. Toys aren’t edible." Su An was a sensible child. He might have wanted it, but he knew that getting enough to eat was the most important thing at the moment.

"Okay. Then we’ll buy more food. Anan, do you want spicy strips? They are really tasty, I’ll buy you some." As Su Linglong walked along, she spotted the spicy strips sold in the supermarket.

When she saw them, she felt a bit nostalgic.

She loved eating spicy strips as a child. Adults always told them that spicy strips were unhealthy, made from shoe soles.

But she was just a kid back then. All she knew was that spicy strips were tasty, even if they weren’t healthy, she still liked them.

Sadly, her Anan had never tried them.

The spicy strips triggered Su Linglong’s memories, and wanting to eat them herself, and wanting Su An to try them, she grabbed a pack.

She didn’t dare take more, just one pack.

The rest of the money, she had to use to buy more food.

Spicy strips are good, but they don’t fill the stomach.

And what they needed was exactly that, to fill their stomachs.

Filling their stomachs was their top priority.

Su Linglong held onto the spicy strips while she checked out.

Su Yinhe saw this and couldn’t help but ask another question.

"Like eating spicy strips, huh?"

Su Linglong looked at her and shyly smiled.

"Right." She felt a bit embarrassed.

Su Yinhe smiled. "Snacky mood, huh?"

"Ah?"

"I still have a lot of snacks left, and I can’t finish them all. They are about to expire, so you guys help me out by taking some," Su Yinhe said, not waiting for their response before she began packing the snacks into a bag.

Su Linglong was momentarily stunned, and soon a big bag of snacks appeared in her hand.

"Boss, you’re giving us all these snacks for free... How can we accept this?" Su Linglong hadn’t expected Su Yinhe to just give them a large bag of snacks.

She had just noticed that when Su Yinhe was packing the snacks, she intentionally packed many sausages and braised eggs.

She probably saw them eating noodles and wanted to give them some extra food.

"There’s nothing to be embarrassed about."

Su Yinhe found a more comfortable position, propped her chin with her hand, and tilted her head as she looked at them.

"Do you have time? If you’re not in a hurry, sit down and chat with me."

"We have time, we’re not in a hurry." Even if they were in a hurry, after Su Yinhe had just given them so much, they had to make the time.

"Please, have a seat."

Su Yinhe gestured for them to sit down.

She wasn’t interested in looking up to talk to people.

It’s tiring for the neck.

And it can cause cervical spine issues.

After Su Linglong and Su An sat down, Su Yinhe began talking to her.

It was called a chat, but actually, it was mostly just Su Yinhe asking questions and Su Linglong answering them.

Su Linglong was still a bit cautious in front of Su Yinhe.

While chatting, Su Yinhe realized that Su Linglong shared her surname.

"Isn’t that a coincidence? A few hundred years ago, we could have been from the same family," Su Yinhe clapped her hands.

"That really is incredible," Su Linglong had not expected that she would share a surname with the boss.

"What’s your son’s name? He’s quite adorable." Su Yinhe somehow found him cute despite his thin and dark appearance.

"His name is Su An. He’s very sensible," Su Linglong said, stroking Su An’s head.

"Su An, do you like my robot? Want to play with it?" Su Yinhe had already noticed Su An’s interested glances.

"I... no, not really," Su An waved his hands somewhat frantically.

"Kids shouldn’t lie. If you like it, just say so. I’ll let you play with it." After all, they were the only two customers in the store.

Fangfang didn’t need to work at that moment.

And Su An was behaving well.

Su Yinhe was always lenient with children who weren’t troublemakers.

"But..." Su An glanced at Su Linglong.

"Go ahead," Su Linglong read his eyes, feeling a bit sorrowful.

"Go and play a bit. I’ll chat with your mom."

Su An looked at Fangfang, then at Su Yinhe.

In the end, his desire to play with Fangfang prevailed, and he bravely went over to play with him.

Fangfang was a robot that cracked dry jokes, and soon had Su An laughing uproariously.

The usually reserved little boy soon loosened up.

Seeing Su An having so much fun, a smile appeared on Su Linglong’s face.

She was happy, yet also a bit sad.

"Thank you, Boss Su."

"No need to mention it," Su Yinhe waved her hand.

"I really don’t know how to thank you enough. If it weren’t for you, Boss Su, we might have already..." Su Linglong’s voice trailed off as tears began to fall.

She wasn’t someone who cried easily, but now, seeing Su An playing with the robot and looking at Su Yinhe’s gentle smile, her nose suddenly felt very sore.

Su Yinhe was silent for a moment.

"You’ll be fine. You’ll live well. Trust me."

"Alright, thank you, Boss Su. I’ll take your kind words to heart."
