Apocalypse: I Have A Multiplier System -
Chapter 499: 499: Vampire Side
Chapter 499: Chapter 499: Vampire Side
Qin Feng stiffened.
He felt a sharp pain on the side of his neck—two distinct points pressing into his skin.
Then warmth. Then cold.
Then the unmistakable pull of blood being drawn from his veins.
His heart skipped a beat.
No way…
Slowly, almost afraid to confirm what he already suspected, he turned his head just enough to see.
There she was.
Su Jiyai. Not in disguise. This was her true self.
Her long, blue hair fell loosely around her shoulders, tangled and wild. Her pale face looked more ghostly than ever, and her lips, once dry—were now pressed against his neck.
And her eyes…
Bright crimson.
They glowed faintly, deep red like blood under moonlight, narrowed with hunger and something darker—something dangerous.
Qin Feng’s breath caught in his throat.
She’s… she’s a vampire?
He had suspected before. There were signs—her fast healing, her odd strength, the way she never seemed to need food or water like others.
But he thought it was all because of her werewolf side.
Now, seeing her vampire side and feeling it, it hit differently.
A chill ran down his spine, not from fear exactly, but from the surreal weight of the truth.
She was drinking his blood.
And not stopping.
Her fingers dug lightly into his arm as if to hold him in place. Her body trembled against his like she was desperately trying to hold on, fighting something within herself.
“J-Jiyai…” he whispered.
She didn’t answer.
Her breathing was uneven, shaky. Her skin felt icy, but her lips were burning hot.
Qin Feng gritted his teeth, unsure whether to pull away or let her continue.
Then, out of nowhere—
Ding!
A familiar, electronic chime echoed through the air.
Qin Feng flinched.
He hadn’t heard that sound in a while.
And then the voice came. Calm, robotic, and oddly cheerful.
“I’m back, host.”
His eyes widened.
The system… it was gone?
No. It had left.
But now it was back.
His heartbeat quickened. That means—wait… if it’s back…
Would it punish her for this? For showing her real face?
Panic filled his chest. What if it erased her? Or wiped her memory?
But before he could speak—
“New update complete. The host may now show her true appearance to everyone. No penalty will be applied.”
Qin Feng let out a shaky breath.
He didn’t realize how tense he’d been until that moment.
His shoulders dropped slightly.
It was okay now. She didn’t have to hide.
He slowly looked down at Su Jiyai again.
She was still drinking, though not as violently now.
Her body pressed close to his. Her breath was shallow. And her lips trembled faintly against his skin.
Qin Feng winced, not because of the pain, but because she was clearly not in control.
“Jiyai… that’s enough,” he whispered softly, brushing a hand through her hair. “It’s okay now… you’re safe. You don’t have to take more…”
But she didn’t move.
Her eyes were glazed, almost like she was dreaming with her eyes open.
Her body was still trembling, her fingers twitching slightly, like she was caught between two instincts—one to feed, and one to flee.
Her fangs, delicate but deadly, remained lodged in his neck.
And strangely, Qin Feng felt his own strength fading.
But he didn’t pull away.
Instead, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her steady.
If this was what she needed to live… if this was the only way to help her get back to normal…
Then he’d endure it.
Again and again, if needed.
“Just… don’t disappear again,” he whispered, his voice low and tired.
A few minutes passed.
Finally, Su Jiyai slowed down. Her lips pulled away from his neck, trembling, stained faintly red. She gasped, a sound halfway between a sob and a breath.
Then she blinked.
Her crimson eyes focused slowly, like someone waking from a long nightmare.
“…Qin Feng?”
Her voice was hoarse. Confused.
He gave her a faint smile, despite the dizziness creeping in. “Hey. You’re back.”
She stared at him in shock. Then her hands flew up to her mouth.
Her pupils shrank. “No… no, no… what did I…”
“You were weak,” he said quickly. “You needed energy. It’s okay. I’m okay.”
“But I bit you… I—” Her voice broke.
He reached out and touched her face gently, brushing a bit of blood from the corner of her lip.
“I’m still breathing, aren’t I?”
“But I—” she choked, trembling.
Suddenly, she remembered that her face was completely visible to Qin Feng and she panicked, “Sh*t… don’t see me like this, I…”
She didn’t want the administrator to use this against her and prevent her from showing her real face to Qin Feng. Not to mention, she still hasn’t explained everything to him.
“Jiyai, it’s okay,” he said softly, voice low and steady. “You don’t need to hide. You’re safe now.”
She blinked, her breath shaky. “But—how can you say that? I just… I bit you… you saw me like that—”
“I heard the system,” Qin Feng interrupted gently. “It said you can show your true face now. No penalty. No punishment. It’s alright.”
Her breath caught.
Wait.
He heard it?
Su Jiyai’s eyes widened in disbelief. There was too much packed in that one sentence.
He heard the system’s voice?
But only she was supposed to hear it. No one else could.
She stared at him, stunned. “Wait… you heard the system?”
Qin Feng gave her a small, crooked smile. The kind that held a secret. “Yeah. I did.”
She blinked again, heart thudding. “But—how? No one else has ever heard it. How do you even know the system exists?”
He didn’t say anything at first. He just looked at her calmly, knowingly. Like he understood everything she wasn’t asking out loud.
“Qin Feng…” she whispered, frowning slightly. “What are you?”
He chuckled under his breath, then shook his head. “Let’s save that talk for later. Right now, we need to leave this place.”
Right.
Su Jiyai took a deep breath, remembering where they were.
“You’re right,” she nodded. “We need to go.”
“I already contacted Xi Ping,” Qin Feng said. “She’ll open a portal for us in about two hours.”
Su Jiyai let out a sigh of relief. Her body slumped just a little, the tension draining from her shoulders. “Good. That’s good…”
She glanced down at herself. Earlier, she had been weak, her body close to collapse. But now, her limbs didn’t hurt. Her chest didn’t feel tight. Her wounds—gone.
She felt… stronger.
Too strong.
Something had changed.
“System,” she called out in her mind. “What’s happening to me?”
The familiar voice returned, clear and robotic, but with a hint of teasing.
[You finally noticed, huh? Upgrade complete, host. I’m back. Took me long enough, right? You can now show your real face to the world. By the way, what are you doing in the Devil’s Realm, huh?]
She sighed. “Long story.”
But before she could say more, the system gasped.
[Wait… waitwaitwait… DID YOU—You did!! You took down all of Devil’s pawns?]
Su Jiyai scratched the back of her head, suddenly feeling a little awkward. “I mean… yeah. I finished it yesterday.”
[ALL of them?! By yourself?! Host, that was unexpected.]
“It felt like the right time,” she replied, rubbing her temples. “I had to finish it before more people got hurt.”
The system went quiet for a moment, processing everything.
Then it let out a whistle.
[Host, I gotta say, you’re breaking all my expectations.]
She rolled her eyes slightly but smiled.
Then her gaze shifted toward Qin Feng, who was sitting nearby, checking his wound with casual calm.
“Hey, System,” she asked, her voice quieter now. “Can you teleport me and Qin Feng straight to the base? I don’t want to stay in this Realm for two hours.”
[Hmm. Normally, I’d say no, but since the upgrade is complete and you’ve cleared out this zone, the space interference should be gone. Yup, teleportation should be stable now.]
[Confirming coordinates… okay. I can send you both back to your base.]
Su Jiyai nodded slowly.
Then she looked back at Qin Feng, who met her gaze immediately, like he was already reading her thoughts.
“I think we can go home now,” she said softly.
He smiled again, his voice warm. “Good. I missed it.”
They stood side by side, the quiet hum of the system already preparing the portal in the air around them.
Whoosh.
The portal blinked once, twice—then fully opened, its edges shimmering with silvery-blue light.
Su Jiyai reached out first, grasping Qin Feng’s hand without a word. Together, they stepped through.
The moment their feet touched solid ground again, they were home—back at the base.
Su Jiyai exhaled slowly, the tension in her body melting away. She turned toward Qin Feng, her expression serious but gentle.
“Qin Feng,” she started, voice low, “I need to tell you everything. About how you know of the existence of my system…”
She didn’t finish.
Her knees buckled.
The world spun.
Colors blurred into each other, the ground slipping out from under her feet.
