Chapter 1586: Chapter 666: Reunion with the Seventh Rank of Destruction_2

"It’s here! That destruction-level monster is there!"

Shua—

As soon as Wang Tao said this, everyone instantly became alert.

"Are you sure you’re not mistaken?"

Xiang Hongbin immediately dashed over. Although his expression was serious, there was also a hint of excitement. He had never seen a destruction-level monster before and was extremely curious.

"I shouldn’t be wrong! I didn’t see it; I felt it. That terrifying aura—it’s something I’ll never forget in my lifetime..."

Wang Tao spoke in a low voice.

It was almost metaphysical, given the distance. Even the Golden Eagle couldn’t see it clearly, only faint flickers of firelight could be observed. It seemed impossible for Wang Tao to perceive the aura of a destruction-level monster. But he’d been killed by it once before—the sixth sense born from an encounter with death shouldn’t be mistaken!

"Can we take a closer look at that thing?"

Wei Zhenguo also chimed in.

It wasn’t that they were eager to poke the bear, but such monsters were enemies they would inevitably have to face. Learning as much as they could now increased their odds of survival later.

The real issue was: would a single glimpse get them killed?

Last time, Wang Tao had instantly dropped dead—he hadn’t even managed to see it. The group couldn’t help but fear that flying closer might just result in an unfathomable and abrupt death. That would be a terrible loss.

"Don’t rush. Let me check..."

Taking a deep breath, Wang Tao focused all his attention and instructed the Golden Eagle to fly forward slowly.

He also wanted to get a proper look at the magma monster, to prepare for the future.

When he had briefly entered Shadow State before, he had only caught a fleeting glimpse—not of the entire creature, but just of its sheer size and its magma-covered body. As for its full appearance, he hadn’t had a chance to find out.

Perhaps now he’d get to see it clearly!

Wang Tao didn’t want to miss this opportunity.

The firelight was still far from their current position. Though the Golden Eagle’s speed was quite fast—it would normally take less than a minute to reach—the bird dawdled for over half an hour. Finally, the group reached the forest engulfed in flames.

"There doesn’t seem to be any immediate danger, but I still can’t see the monster..."

Just as Wang Tao finished speaking, the Golden Eagle let out a soft cry.

"Hmm? You saw something? Where is it?"

The Golden Eagle’s vision was far keener than Wang Tao’s, even with his binoculars, and its perception ability was exceptional. It hinted that it had noticed something unusual.

Following the Golden Eagle’s guidance, Wang Tao hurriedly picked up his binoculars and looked toward the indicated direction.

It was the middle of the forest—a place utterly consumed by fire. The specifics of what lay within were obscured, but as Wang Tao’s gaze shifted to it, the haunting, heart-palpitating sensation intensified significantly.

"Seems like it’s right there..."

Wang Tao didn’t dare venture closer. He ordered the Golden Eagle to stop momentarily and handed binoculars to the group to examine the area.

About a minute passed without any noticeable changes in the forest. Just as the group began wondering if Wang Tao had misidentified the location, the flames suddenly surged violently.

The group immediately tensed, their focus unwavering.

Pu-chi—

A sudden eruption of scorching magma burst forth amidst the flames!

The trees not yet reduced to ashes were instantly consumed by the magma flow, burning away in mere moments. The surrounding flames vanished all at once, replaced solely by slowly oozing magma.

Glug... glug...

At the center of the bubbling magma, it churned feverishly.

Beneath the group’s vigilant stares, an enormous being emerged slowly from the magma.

"Holy shit! That’s a seventh-tier destruction-level creature? It’s so huge..."

Though its full form had yet to reveal itself, its sheer size already seemed larger than that of the Giant Zombies!

Even at such a distance, the group could feel waves of heat rolling toward them. The temperature around them had risen by ten, maybe twenty degrees since the creature’s appearance.

Simultaneously, a sense of earth-shattering dread began to envelop them.

Despite the oppressive heat, the group couldn’t suppress a shiver running down their spines!

"Incredible... so powerful!"

"Feels like we’ll never be able to defeat it..."

"Even its aura is making my legs feel weak..."

"..."

As the group stood stunned and horrified, the seventh-tier destruction-level monster finally revealed its full form!

It was a four-legged beast, each of its limbs thick and sturdy, with an immense body and a bulged back towering nearly a hundred meters high. Its body resembled black obsidian—dark and slightly reflective. Its roughly oval-shaped head bore some resemblance to a human’s, yet apart from a giant mouth, no other facial features were visible. From the joints, skull, and the seven orifices on its head, a torrent of magma streamed continuously, as though it were a fusion of obsidian and molten rock.

Thump, thump—

After surfacing, it began walking casually through the forest as though taking a stroll. Anything it touched was instantly vaporized by the magma flowing over its body, including the raging fire in the forest... It was like an active volcano, mobile and magma-spewing!

"So this is the seventh-tier destruction level..."

Seeing the monster for the first time, complex emotions washed over the group. The creature exuded an aura of invincibility, leaving them wondering how it could ever be defeated.

Wang Tao finally had a clear view of the magma monster, but his expression turned extremely grim.

"Wang Tao, what’s wrong?"

Seeing his gloom, Lan Yulian thought he might have recalled the previous time he was killed by the monster, and she quickly gripped his hand.

But Wang Tao shook his head and said bleakly:

"This magma monster... isn’t the same one I encountered before!"

"..."

Silence fell over the group.

Then they stared at Wang Tao in disbelief.

"Are you saying there’s a second seventh-tier destruction-level monster?"

Han Rui’s voice trembled.

Although they had theorized that more magma monsters might exist below the surface, causing the current droughts, they hadn’t anticipated two of them surfacing so soon. One was already beyond their ability to fight—two seventh-tier destruction-level creatures could easily obliterate all the major survivor bases!

Taking a deep breath, Wang Tao confirmed:

"Yes, this is the second magma monster I’ve seen. It’s not the same as the previous one!"

The certainty came from the fact that this monster’s aura differed slightly from the previous one, and one major factor: the attributes didn’t match, especially its HP which was much higher!

[HP: 1100293/12000000]

[Level: Seventh Tier·Destruction]

[Law Power: Fire (Basic): 100/100]

[Destruction Domain: Great Drought]

[Great Drought: Where it passes, drought follows. Upon death, its drought zone will fix and expand.]

The previous magma monster had an HP cap of 10 million; this one reached 12 million!

Given the discrepancy in perception and its distinctive attributes, this was undoubtedly another magma monster!

Two seventh-tier destruction-level monsters appearing...

This threat was no longer just about avoiding an encounter with them—it was about whether these survivor bases could escape their gaze!

If this creature targeted Changhe Base, nothing could stop it! Survivors could only flee; staying meant death. But even running wasn’t guaranteed to succeed!

The monster’s horrifying destruction domain...

At that thought, Wang Tao instinctively glanced at the nearby ground, only to shudder in shock.

Plants began silently withering, the moisture in the soil rapidly evaporating, creating dryness and shrinkage... until the ground cracked, forming fissures! Within moments, a patch of lush greenery had turned into a parched wasteland!

This scene of drying and cracking extended visibly across a wide area.

From this transformation, Wang Tao sensed an unmistakable lethal danger. He realized... it was this very ability that had killed him before!

The others, too, saw the land’s sudden drought-inducing transformation, leaving them feeling utterly horrified.

"Is this...?"

"Yes, this is its Destruction Domain: [Great Drought]! With our current strength... touching it means instant death!"
