Ancestral Wealth Inheritance System -
Chapter 617 - 617: Find a Way to Blast Him
"Mr. Li, what did you say?" Nick was so taken aback that he even doubted his own ears.
Mr. Li Yunlong inviting him for tea and drinks was one thing, but suddenly, out of the blue, offering to sponsor a fleet for their civilization? What kind of bizarre move was this?
Watching the extremely serious expression on Fang Jueyu's face, Nick hesitated. He felt that Fang Jueyu didn't seem to be joking with him. However, nothing in this world comes for free. What exactly was in this Li Yunlong's gourd?
"Are you deaf or something?" Fang Jueyu repeated, "I said, I want to sponsor a fleet for your Begla civilization."
"But Mr. Li, we hardly know each other. Why are you helping us?" If they could gain the support of the Divine Hoarder civilization, he believed it would make warring with the Leo civilization a piece of cake. Still, he needed to understand why first.
"Mr. Li, could it be that you're also interested in that mining area?" After racking his brain, Nick could only come up with this reason.
But their sovereign had already made it clear that this time, the war must not seek help from any civilization.
Just if this Li Yunlong was really interested in that mining area, then it would be a big deal. If he agreed, it would be hard to explain to his sovereign.
However, if he refused, given Li Yunlong's infamous temper, who knows when he'd bring a fleet straight to the Begla civilization, and their fleet might not even withstand a single salvo.
"Hey, why are you sweating all over? Is it too hot?" Fang Jueyu asked with feigned concern.
"No... it's not."
"Good then," Fang Jueyu replied, "I couldn't care less about that mining area. Our Godly Hoarder civilization is vast and resource-rich, and this kind of Cosmic Crystal vein ore, while not exactly ten times or eight times larger, is not lacking. Even our smallest deposit is more than ten times this size, not even enough to fill a gap in my teeth."
Nick breathed a sigh of relief, as long as they weren't interested in the vein ore.
"Wait!" Nick suddenly thought of a possibility. The two young people from the Divine Hoarder civilization, who had appeared so far, although their abilities and characteristics had no commonality, were both famous for their big tempers. If someone offended him, they'd end up worse than dead.
Could it be that someone from the Leo civilization had offended this Li Yunlong?
The more he thought about it, the more he found it likely. Nick was convinced that someone from the Leo civilization must have rubbed him the wrong way.
"Heh heh," Fang Jueyu drew closer, "Looks like Mr. Nick has figured it out. Someone from the Leo civilization has offended me."
"Just as I thought!" Nick knew he hadn't guessed wrong. "But Mr. Li, don't you have any conditions?"
"Conditions? Oh, they are quite simple. After you win the war, the spoils of war and the territory belong to you. You just have to pass a message to the sovereign of the Leo civilization for me."
"If he asks where your foreign aid comes from, just tell him to go back and ask the clan leader of the Joraike family in your civilization. He knows why!"
"Is it that simple?" Nick knew that someone from the so-called Joraike family must have provoked this thunderbolt.
"It's that simple. I'll lend you a standard Class 4 civilization battleship fleet. How you use it is up to you, just return it when you're done."
"But Mr. Li, you don't need to make such a grand display," Nick was confused. "If someone from the Joraike family offended you, you could directly ask the sovereign of the Leo civilization for that person. Would he dare refuse?"
The value of a Class 4 civilization battleship fleet might be several times greater than their entire civilization. He had a simpler solution.
"That's different!" Fang Jueyu took a swig of his whiskey. "If I went to the Leo civilization's sovereign to ask for the person, at most, he'd hand them over, and constrained by the Cosmic Federation's laws, it would be just to vent my anger a little. But that's not my style. I need to find a way to hit him hard!"
"Hiss!" At this moment, Nick understood what Mr. Li meant. He realized that while this Mr. Li seemed crude, his thoughts were anything but simple.
If resolved through official channels, at best, the Joraike family would get some punishment and compensation, which certainly wouldn't satisfy him given his character.
But if it concerned their civilization, that would be different.
Originally, the war between the Leo and Begla civilizations was evenly matched. Suddenly, their side's strength increased tenfold, catching them off guard.
According to the terms of the agreement, not only would they have to relinquish the mining rights, but even the disputed territory would belong to the Begla civilization. They might even have to pay a hefty compensation. Such a loss would be akin to cutting off a piece of flesh for the sovereign of the Leo civilization.
If he learned that the root cause of all this was a family within their civilization, they'd undoubtedly face the sovereign's wrath.
Between civilizations, there are cosmic federation constraints, but when it comes to managing internal affairs, there aren't so many rules.
To be blunt, the sovereign of the Leo civilization, in a fit of anger, might very well wipe out the entire family! This was likely the purpose of Li Yunlong!
"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!" Nick couldn't help but admire Mr. Li.
However, undeniably, not everyone could pull off such a move. A standard Class 4 civilization fleet is something beyond the reach of even a Class 3 civilization, even if they emptied all their reserves.
Only someone from the Divine Hoarder civilization would resort to such tactics against their enemies. The Joraike family truly must have had terrible luck to offend Li Yunlong.
"So, it looks like our cooperation can proceed?"
"Of course! Mr. Li, having your confidence in us is an honor for the Begla civilization!" With such an opportunity, Nick would be crazy not to seize it.
"But the fewer people who know about my involvement, the better. We, from the Divine Hoarder civilization, prefer to keep a low profile. Do you understand?"
"Understood! Understood!" Nick nodded repeatedly, yet internally he couldn't help but mutter, "If you guys were truly low-profile, then the mere mention of the Divine Hoarder civilization wouldn't send the entire Cosmic Federation into a panic."
"That's that then. Once my fleet is ready, we'll reconnect." Fang Jueyu turned to his side, "White Eye, show the guest out!"
"Mr. Li, then I'll take my leave!" Nick respectfully bowed to Fang Jueyu and White Eye before cautiously departing.
...
"Brother Fang, you're really going to give them a fleet?" As soon as Nick left, Natu couldn't help but ask, "A standard Class 4 civilization fleet isn't small, can you just use it so easily?"
"I don't have a fleet that big!" Fang Jueyu rolled his eyes, "When I returned to Earth, I only had 10 Class 4 warships and 700 Class 3 advanced warships, far from it!"
"Then why say that? Where will you conjure up a fleet?"
"Hey, it's not a big deal!" Fang Jueyu waved his hand, "I'll just buy one or rent one, simple as that."
Natu: "I... I'm speechless... You're really something else!"
