Chapter 957: Chapter 444 Be Careful of Wei Liang_2

After walking for a few minutes like this, Lin Yi glanced at his watch.

10:40.

"The cafeteria’s open." he said.

"Yeah, we’re almost there." Wei Liang said, pointing to the cafeteria right in front of them.

Lin Yi said, "I might eat a bit fast today. After eating, I need to go to the convenience store. You guys stay here and wait for Young Master Tian and Wei Shan. After you’re done, how about we meet back here?"

Li Huiyuan shook her head and said, "I’ll go straight to the gym after eating. I need to tell Boss about your situation."

"Alright." Lin Yi nodded.

"I guess I’ll be the one waiting for Young Master Tian and the others then." Wei Liang shrugged. "Do as you like, but I feel like the weather here is a bit off. It looks like it’s going to rain, doesn’t it?"

"Rain?" Lin Yi was slightly stunned and quickly looked up at the sky.

The clouds in the sky were indeed somewhat thick, but there were no signs of rain.

Nonetheless, he was very mindful of Wei Liang’s words.

If Wei Liang said it was going to rain, chances are it actually will.

Continuing forward, Lin Yi and his friends finally saw some other classmates heading to the cafeteria, but they didn’t pay much attention to them.

The three took a copy of "Dining Hall Rules" from the shelf next to the notice board and planned to walk to the Student Passage.

But just as Lin Yi picked up "Dining Hall Rules," an eerie voice suddenly sounded by his ear: "Lin Yi..."

Lin Yi was startled in his heart and instinctively looked toward the source of the voice.

Unfortunately, he didn’t see anything.

Oddly enough, the voice continued to echo by his ear.

"Lin Yi..."

"Lin Yi..."

"Lin Yi..."

As he got closer to the cafeteria, the voice became clearer.

He thought of the numbered code "01," perhaps the voice wasn’t calling his name but instead calling that code?

Like the countless broken sculptures in the abandoned classroom?

Like those little demon sculptures on the black and white chessboard?

But he couldn’t be sure when the voice was "Lin Yi" and when it was "01."

He released his perception towards the Green Forest Belt, recalling that on the morning of May 9th, he had seen chef sculptures and feather-shaped sculpture fragments here, but now, despite his perception attempts, he couldn’t find any traces of those chef sculptures.

It was as if what he saw on the morning of May 9th was a complete illusion, and what he was perceiving now was truly nihil.

But... how could he be sure that what he was sensing now was real?

The voice by his ear was still sounding, wasn’t it?

Yet he saw nothing and perceived nothing.

He felt his spirit was getting a bit erratic.

After all, having heard sounds issued by unseen and unperceived things, perhaps his sensing now and the phantom vision yesterday were both real?

Just as Lin Yi’s thoughts were becoming chaotic, Wei Liang’s voice sounded in his ear: "Old Lin, why are you spacing out?"

Lin Yi snapped out of it, quickly shaking his head and saying: "It’s nothing... let’s go."

As he said this, he led the way to the Student Passage. After confirming the sign reading [Student Passage], they walked in without hesitation.

As their figures vanished in the Student Passage, a thick layer of clouds drifted over the cafeteria, and the Green Forest Belt was suddenly enveloped in shadow.

Between the swaying tree shadows of the Green Forest Belt, dim light and flickering shadows intertwined, countless rigid chef sculptures barely visible, now appearing covered with dense fractures, between which seemed to emerge some eyeball nascent forms, as if some big eyeballs were about to crawl out from within.

From within those cracks, some deep murmurs and voices seemed to emerge:

"Lin Yi..."

"Lin Yi..."

...

The Student Passage was colder than usual, the uneven stone steps appeared to perpetually retain moisture, and from the gaps in the yellow-brown brick walls, water intermittently seeped out, making the entire passage seem much more damp.

"Strange... a few days ago when we came, it was very dry. Could it be that the layers in the Student Passage are becoming unstable?" Lin Yi muttered.

Li Huiyuan’s face turned serious: "Possibly... what the teacher said about layer fluctuation might not only refer to the Teaching Building, perhaps other places in the campus are fluctuating too..."

Wei Liang listened with some confusion, he couldn’t help but say: "What are you guys talking about? What fluctuation? What soil layer? Are we going to farm?"

"Liang Liangzi, big man, that’s not what we’re talking about..." Li Huiyuan said.

Wei Liang pouted: "I was just wondering why Old Lin changed professions? He was learning architecture just fine, now he’s jumping into agriculture? Although I suppose it’s no big deal; after all, architecture or agriculture, both involve digging into soil..."

"’Digging into soil’?" Lin Yi was slightly stunned, "Did Liangzi mean... the layer fluctuations are controllable?"

His eyes brightened, Wei Liang’s words suddenly gave him lots of ideas and hints.

Darn, truly worthy of Liangzi, finding an opportunity to hint at me like this?

Lin Yi subconsciously over-interpreted Wei Liang’s remark.

Even though he didn’t know precisely how to manipulate the layers, Wei Liang’s reminder seemed to give him a sense of starting from nothing, like starting over.

Wei Liang was startled by Lin Yi’s gaze again, his body shuddered, and he clenched his rear nervously: "Old Lin, the girl is still here, could you tone down that perverted stare a bit? My ass feels chilled..."

"Darn! Move, move, move!" Lin Yi’s face darkened, but then he suddenly thought of something and reached out to pull Li Huiyuan over, then held her hand, "Almost forgot I had a witness here, how’s that, is your ass still chilled?"

Wei Liang clutched his chest: "Feeling heart-struck now..."

Lin Yi evilly chuckled, feeling initially reluctant to explain, thinking this stuff only gets worse with words, anyway, he believed Li Huiyuan definitely wouldn’t buy it.

But he quickly realized that Li Huiyuan was right here, why bother to ask for proof?

Straightforwardly confront and get it done!

Hehehee!

Li Huiyuan, taken aback by Lin Yi’s sudden hand-holding, quickly relaxed, her lips curving and eyes smiling as she watched the heart-struck Wei Liang, inexplicably wanting to hum a sweet tune...

Turns out, when holding hands to confront danger before, she didn’t think too much, but now before Liang Liangzi, holding a little hand sure is joyful!

Indeed, happiness does transfer!

A moment later, walking through the Student Passage, Lin Yi suddenly felt the surrounding cold sensation growing stronger, the exit right in front seeming to twist.

He quickly looked down at his hands.

Seeing he was indeed still holding Li Huiyuan’s hand, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"What’s wrong?" Sensing some anomaly from Lin Yi’s hand, Li Huiyuan asked with concern.

"Do you feel... it’s gotten colder?" Lin Yi tentatively asked, considering the conveyed phenomenon from sensing before, as holding hands, Li Huiyuan should sense some of his feelings too.

But Li Huiyuan shook her head: "Not at all..."

She said this while reaching out to feel Lin Yi’s forehead: "Did you catch a cold staying out all night yesterday?"

However, as soon as she said this, Li Huiyuan pursed her lips and smiled self-mockingly: "Got it wrong... how can someone with your constitution catch a cold, so have you sensed something then?"

"No, just a mere feeling that the air seems to have gotten a bit colder." Lin Yi said.

Wei Liang’s voice came from ahead: "Coldness is expected, given it’s going to rain, certainly it will get cooler."
