Chapter 713: Chapter 328: Dream, Kuai Hongji, Dense Forest, and... "Zealot

X023, May 9th, adjacent to the Gymnasium, "Giant Dome."

Lin Yi had a dream while sound asleep.

In the dream, he seemed to have entered a dense jungle -- both familiar and alien, probably the Green Forest Belt on campus yet somehow different. It felt like a corner of the world forgotten, exuding a chilling breath.

The light struggled through the overlapping layers of leaves, becoming exceedingly dim, akin to the last breath of a dying man -- faint and feeble.

Each ray of light appeared to be a prisoner devoured by darkness, fading away as it struggled, leaving behind only mottled, barely discernible shadows on the ground. Those shadows, like ghosts hidden in the dark, were twisted and irregular, and seemed to wriggle uneasily with the occasional breeze.

Mist spread like a vast, icy white serpent, winding and coiling tightly around the entire jungle.

It was pervasive in every inch of space, thick and damp, as if emanating from the bowels of Hell.

Within the mist, everything became indistinct, the silhouette of trees barely visible, like a group of monsters baring their fangs and claws in the darkness.

Occasionally the fog would briefly disperse, but it seemed to play games with the intruder, swiftly regathering and once again cruelly extinguishing that brief glimmer of hope.

The trees here seemed twisted by some malevolent force, bent at angles that defied common sense, like limbs struggling in agony.

Their bark was rough and cracked, as if etched with deep wrinkles by time and pain. The branches, like withered arms, stretched helplessly towards the sky, seeming to tug and entangle each other in an endless struggle, adorned with leaves that could fall at any moment, rustling in the breeze -- a sound like hushed whispers that involuntarily raised goosebumps.

Currents of air rushed between the twisted trees, emitting a sharp ’whoosh’ that rose and fell, much like the wail of a tormented soul in the endless dark.

Some winds blowing through the dry branches made a ’sussuration’, as if an invisible giant hand was vigorously shaking the entire jungle.

Gradually, he began to hear rustling sounds -- as if something was moving across dry leaves and the soft earth. As the "perspective" delved deeper into the jungle, he started to discern some elusive figures. These figures were very different from the shadows of the gnarled trees, and from a distance, one could tell they were "people" -- or at least, things that bore human-like contours.

Lin Yi quickly analyzed the movement patterns of different objects and the mist in his field of vision, combined with the changes in light and shadow, and figured out what those human-like figures were -- Human Sculptures.

However, the Human Sculptures here gave off an even more eerie feeling compared to the Pseudo-Human Sculptures in the Phalanx of sculptures. If those capable of entering under the lamppost screens were Newborn Pseudo-Human Sculptures, then these Human Sculptures should be considered the old model of Pseudo-Human Sculptures.

These Human Sculptures were scattered, moving along certain trajectories, as if they were loyal guards.

Before he could react, the perspective in this dream began to move...

The subject of the perspective maneuvered through the mist, nimble, not resembling a person, but more like a wraith riding the wind.

Lin Yi’s thought fluttered slightly, attempting to pull the perspective back a bit.

Then, just like when he entered Mao Feiyang’s perspective in the dream, he now drifted out of this subject’s entity like a wisp of smoke...

Seeing this person, he should have been somewhat shocked, yet he was calmer than expected, as if it naturally should be this way.

He saw the subject of the perspective -- Kuai Hongji.

This was actually Kuai Hongji’s perspective.

Utterly unexpected, yet it made sense.

Over two days of dreaming, he had mostly followed Maozi’s perspective and experienced the Art Student’s affairs, hardly ever entering Kuai Hongji’s perspective.

He hadn’t thought that this time, he would enter Kuai Hongji’s perspective.

"Is Kuai Kuai navigating through the dense jungle?"

"When did this happen?"

He subconsciously glanced at his wrist, but regretfully, there was no quartz watch appearing on it.

After entering the campus, Kuai Hongji had almost always maintained a solo operation rhythm, with only a few meals and returning to the Dormitory, he barely had any exchange with them.

He knew that Kuai Hongji had entered the Green Forest Belt, but had no idea what he was doing there. Therefore, he was always curious about Kuai Hongji’s perspective, yet unexpected to see it at this time.

Kuai Hongji kept moving through the depths of the jungle, and now, with the thickness of the mist in the depths far surpassing imagination, those with poor vision couldn’t distinguish whether it was the trunks or Human Sculptures, or perhaps, something even more bizarre.

"Kuai Kuai moves here undisturbed?"

Lin Yi was puzzled. Logically, to retain sanity in such an environment, one would at least need to recognize what they saw in advance.

But when did Kuai Hongji possess such profound cognition?

"Did he know everything from the start?"
