Chapter 544: Chapter 245 Moss’s Problem

"What’s the matter?" Lin Yi asked.

"About Song Rentou, do you have any plans?"

"Ah? What do you mean ’any plans’?" Lin Yi was stunned, "Isn’t it as we previously agreed to hand over the note to the Class Teacher and then let bullets fly?"

"If it weren’t for the sound of water that appeared after midnight, that would have been the right thing to do..." Tian Bufan said.

"But, if the sound of water in the restroom happened at one in the morning, and if Song Rentou woke up at that moment and mistook it for the sound of showering, what then...?"

Lin Yi’s steps halted abruptly, as the information on Song Rentou’s note appeared before his eyes like a scrolling marquee.

["I saw them looking for my roommate..."]

["My roommate was showering..."]

[...]

Tian Bufan seemed to guess that Lin Yi was pondering over Song Rentou again and interrupted, "Don’t think too much about Song Rentou for now. The information from the dreams of last night is already plenty. Digesting that is the priority."

As he spoke, his expression grew stern, "As for Song Rentou, his case is very peculiar... The true situation might be even stranger than what we deduced from just a piece of paper. You must be very careful, and make sure the bullets don’t end up hitting you while flying."

Lin Yi’s expression became grave, and he nodded solemnly.

Tian Bufan continued, "Today’s exploration... let’s focus on interacting with the Sports Student and the Class Teacher."

"The exploration inside the Gymnasium is the priority, but... don’t force it. Getting a bit of information is good enough!"

"Mm," Lin Yi responded.

The area of the Teaching Building had been roughly explored already, and other buildings were difficult to investigate. Therefore, focusing the plan on the Gymnasium was appropriate.

"Almost time. I’m off, and if all goes well... see you at noon." Tian Bufan waved his hand and bid farewell to Lin Yi, heading towards Teaching Building C.

"I’m also leaving." Kuai Hongji spoke indifferently, then left towards Teaching Building A on his own.

Watching the backs of Tian Bufan and Kuai Hongji, Lin Yi rubbed his temples and said, "Let’s go too."

Tian Bufan was right – there was too much information for him to integrate at the moment, and it wasn’t necessary to waste a lot of energy deciphering Song Rentou’s puzzle based on a piece of paper with authenticity yet to be determined.

This matter would be handed over to Class Teacher-040.

Lin Yi then walked with Wei Liang and Wei Shan towards Teaching Building B.

During the day, Teaching Building B looked completely normal from afar, and the way back was very safe.

By 8:03, Lin Yi and the others had already reached the steps of Teaching Building B.

Wei Shan greeted Lin Yi and went up the steps, heading towards Class B Group 3.

Lin Yi nodded and began to ascend the steps, but just then, he suddenly sensed something different than usual.

He then went back down, pondered for a moment, and then went up again.

After repeating this several times, Wei Liang couldn’t bear it any longer and interrupted Lin Yi, "Old Lin, what’s wrong with you? Are you trying to exploit some kind of bug here?"

Lin Yi hesitated, "I feel like there’s a problem... do you feel it?"

Wei Liang puffed his cheeks, somewhat speechless, "What problem could I possibly have?"

"Right, asking you is pointless..." Lin Yi thought to himself that Wei Liang made everything passive, so there was no use asking him.

"Come on, get up here! If there’s nothing wrong, go report to the Teacher, and do whatever you’re supposed to do." Wei Liang said and went down to pull Lin Yi up.

But as soon as Wei Liang stepped down, he somehow stepped on a patch of Moss and suddenly slipped, nearly falling into a freestyle spin. Fortunately, he managed to regain his balance with a bridge move.

"Ouch my grass... this ground is a bit slippery!"

Wei Liang patted his chest, gasping with a sense of residual fear.

Lin Yi instinctively glanced at the steps.

Those steps were neither too long nor too short – a fall there would be no joke.

But this action attracted Lin Yi’s attention, and when Lin Yi focused on it, his whole body suddenly shook!

"Moss!"

"It’s the Moss!" His pupils contracted with a startled cry.

"Ah? Yes, it’s moss..." Wei Liang was confused and puzzled, "If it’s not moss, what is it, have you gone crazy, Old Lin?"

Lin Yi hurriedly said, "That’s not what I meant! I’m saying... oh, never mind, you wouldn’t care anyway!"

Knowing Liangzi’s way of thinking, Lin Yi didn’t say more and instead looked around once more.

After a night of heavy rain, the moss in front of the steps seemed to have been nourished, turning a deeper green, with an indescribable richness to the color, as if it had been added to a color palette.

This suddenly reminded him of the Moss in the Student Passage of the Cafeteria – under vapors and Mist, the moss there revealed a bizarre vibrancy, appearing particularly eerie against the grayish environment.

Now, the Moss in front of the steps of the Teaching Building gave off a similar vibe as that in the Cafeteria.

What was truly odd was not this, though – despite the large swathes of moss growing on the steps of the Teaching Building, there was none on the Cobblestone path!

Moreover, not just that—

He dashed to the second to last light pole near the Teaching Building, bent down to part the weeds, and looked at the base of the pole.
