Chapter 468: Chapter 208 "The Second Kind of Light

"There’s no chance of going back tonight; we’ll have to stay on campus for a day,"

"Tomorrow we’ll have a good meal at the cafeteria, get a few Student Souvenir Coins from the convenience store, and then head back,"

Mu Daxian lay on the ground, eyes closed, muttering these words as if he were talking in his sleep.

"It’s not possible today, but it will be tomorrow?" Mao Feiyang was greatly puzzled. In theory, shouldn’t this Grey Mist Invasion become more intense over time?

Could today be the peak of the invasion?

If the situation starts to die down like the tide tomorrow, then what Mu Daxian said makes some sense.

"Yes, tomorrow it will work," Mu Daxian said calmly, as if stating a simple, undeniable fact, "But don’t let your guard down; the real crisis hasn’t hit yet!"

Those words instantly shattered Mao Feiyang’s illusions: "So today is not the peak of the Grey Mist Invasion?"

"Peak?" Mu Daxian slowly opened his eyes, "Who told you today was the limit?"

"The Night Watchman rang the bell during the day; the real war hasn’t even started!" Mu Daxian curled his lip, "We must return to the Art Building tomorrow; we can do so little here, the Art Building is where they really need us."

This made Mao Feiyang feel confused and added to Lin Yi’s sense of mystery surrounding Mu Daxian.

"It’s not possible today, but it will be tomorrow"

"Today is not the limit of the invasion"

Although today is not the peak of the Grey Mist Invasion, it seemed like it was Mu Daxian’s limit—at least it was the limit of what he could do on campus right now. How was he going to get back to the Art Building tomorrow?

Perhaps it was because Mao Feiyang had already survived being besieged by the Angel Sculpture, and Lin Yi had found out how Mao Feiyang lost his Student Souvenir Coin, so for now he wasn’t too worried for Mao Feiyang; instead, he was curious about how Mu Daxian was going to manage it.

Mao Feiyang was already very tired. Seeing Mu Daxian resting, he lay down as well, but his damp clothes tortured him continuously, preventing him from getting any proper rest.

Suddenly, Mu Daxian shot up off the ground like a carp flipping in the air.

"Damn!"

Mu Daxian swiftly moved his feet, kicking Mao Feiyang who was lying beside him.

Mao Feiyang jolted awake, his nerves tense again in an instant, his body as tight as a bow: "What’s going on, what’s going on?"

"Damn, I’m freezing!" Mu Daxian muttered.

Mao Feiyang: "???"

It’s not like, brother, that you are cold and I am damp, we could just endure the night together... We all survived the Angel Sculpture, can we not cause any more trouble?

Mao Feiyang looked at Mu Daxian with a plaintive stare.

But Mu Daxian had already started mixing his paints...

"Brother Xian, what are you doing?"

"Mixing colors, aren’t you blind? Can’t you see?"

"What?"

"What what, you’re cold and wet, right? So let’s draw some fire to heat ourselves up..."

"Holy crap, that’s awesome?!"

"Awesome, right?"

"Awesome!" Mao Feiyang gave a thumbs up, enviously saying, "I wonder when I can be like you."

"Now."

"What??"

"What what, I’m out of energy, you paint."

"What???"

"Are you practicing phonetic symbols or what?" Mu Daxian pushed the mixed paints in front of Mao Feiyang.

"Come on Brother Xian, are you serious?" Mao Feiyang was on the verge of tears.

Mu Daxian replied irritably, "Desperation can unleash potential. You were dragged around the Teaching Building by me for over two hours, and then the Angel Sculpture caught you and drained Supernatural Traits all the way. Your body, in trying to keep you alive, has been desperately ’adapting’."

"If you’ve survived, it means your body has been digesting Supernatural Power, breaking limits repeatedly, and it’s nearly ’adapted’ to this intensity... Just like someone who has drawn a Hundred-Stone Bow once can easily handle a bow of seventy or eighty stones afterward."

"Give it a try."

Mu Daxian patted his shoulder.

"With the storm raging outside, and you’ve come down from that life-threatening escape with adrenaline surging, your inner vigor will soon calm down. Once the moisture starts evaporating and taking your body heat with it, you might not make it through the night..."

"Buck up, lad, you wouldn’t want to have survived the Angel Sculpture only to freeze to death, would you?"

Having said this, Mu Daxian sat down right there.

Mao Feiyang pursed his lips and approached the easel.

"Brother Xian, you’re not explaining anything. At least dry the easel bit..."

He suddenly stopped mid-sentence, as the easel before him had no marks left on it whatsoever!

His pupils contracted slightly, as if he had grasped something. He spun around to look at the spot where Mu Daxian had been painting, only to see—

The image Mu Daxian had drawn was imprinted in the air not far away, as if... it rewrote reality!

"This...?!" Mao Feiyang’s eyes widened, "This, this...?!"

Mu Daxian’s voice drifted over: "Art Department junior year elective course ’Spatial Art,’ eighth volume ’Spatial Overwrite,’ Chapter three ’The Art of Camouflage’..."

"Don’t just blindly stare, and don’t think about the original scene in your head; it might affect my creativity,"

"What?"

"Spatial Overwrite is about amplifying an Art Student’s perception of a particular area. It’s like using Supernatural Power to enhance one’s spiritual power and consequently project a false Domain, covering over the actual scene within that area,"
