Chapter 275: Chapter 127 Gypsum Liquid Humanoid Creature_2

"Lin Yi, why have you started to become curious about the campus?"

This thought was like a bucket of cold water poured down, instantly extinguishing the emotions that had just ignited within him.

"Right! Exploring the campus is something Young Master Tian wanted to do, isn’t it? Why has it become something I’m ’interested’ in?"

"I should be exploring the campus out of necessity to save Maozi, not taking the initiative...?"

"Is it the indescribable entity within the campus influencing me? Or... or have I truly begun to develop an uncontrollable curiosity and desire to explore the campus?"

"I..."

Lin Yi’s breathing gradually became rapid, and his will began to endure a kind of split, as if two little figures were arguing inside his brain—one insisted he maintain a passive exploration, while the other urged him to take advantage of Li Huiyuan to thoroughly explore the boundaries of the campus rules...

His head started to reel again, and his breathing grew more and more rapid.

He saw the doorknob at his side, almost as if he could hear Li Huiyuan’s concerned greeting.

"I..." He held his breath, suppressing the battling little figures within him and disrupting his increasingly frenetic breathing rhythm.

"Calm down."

"Calm down!"

"Calm down!!!"

Lin Yi took a deep breath, as though trying to inhale all the air in the world into his abdomen.

He held the breath inside, letting the air mixed with the fragrance of grass and the scent of earth circulate within his chest, constantly reminding himself to stay calm, then slowly straightened his body.

During this process, the agitated spectrum of complex emotions inside him was gradually swept away, and the noise by his ears became less and less...

At last, only the somewhat anxious voices of Li Huiyuan and Wei Liang remained.

"Old Lin (Classmate Lin)... Old Lin (Classmate Lin)..."

Their voices were very distant, then became closer and closer, until, when Lin Yi completely came to his senses, the sounds were right beside his ear.

Lin Yi realized that Li Huiyuan was indeed calling him, and so was Wei Liang, only he had managed to extract his own leg from the vortex of thoughts after having been immersed in it.

He patted his head with the palm of his hand, feeling a headache psychologically: "Is there something wrong with my body? The frequency of pixelation today has been getting higher and higher..."

"I’m fine." Lin Yi waved his hand, and eventually glanced at his watch.

13:02.

He reassured, "Let’s go, off to the restroom."

Wei Liang couldn’t help but mutter softly, "Old Lin, do you think you’re like, cursed by restrooms or something? Why is it that every time you use the bathroom, some extra plot gets triggered?"

"Perhaps..." Lin Yi felt a bit helpless; some kind of premonition had suddenly appeared before his eyes, something beyond his control.

"If it doesn’t work out, should we just get a bottle and you take care of it quietly in the classroom?"

"..." Lin Yi’s mouth twitched slightly, "Have you tried?"

Wei Liang shook his head directly: "Never tried, mainly because I’m scared, afraid of getting beaten."

After passing Class 1 of Group B, there was a corner, and going straight to the inside was a fork in the road, one side was the restroom, and the other was the Teaching Building elevator.

The men’s restroom was directly opposite the corridor, while the women’s restroom required one to walk past the men’s and turn at a right-angle to reach.

Lin Yi and Wei Liang entered the men’s restroom; Li Huiyuan hesitated for a moment before heading to the women’s restroom.

There seemed to be nothing amiss in the men’s restroom. Lin Yi didn’t encounter any accidents while using the facilities, not even a phantom vision. Everything was eerily normal, which made him, who had become accustomed to danger, feel a sense of unreality.

Next to him, Wei Liang, having achieved "Initial Release," was almost beaming. His urinal cake spun merrily in the urinal, like a cheerful little top.

Lin Yi contemplated his next move: should he check the elevator, the corridor bridge, or perhaps climb the stairs?

After he finished, he went to wash his hands, only to realize that Wei Liang was still urinating.

"Liangzi?" he called out, but Wei Liang didn’t seem to hear him and remained motionless in front of the urinal, maintaining the "Initial Release" posture.

A sinister premonition suddenly washed over him. After washing his hands, he looked up and saw "Wei Liang" standing expressionlessly in front of him.

Lin Yi jumped in shock, his pupils contracting sharply, but he didn’t speak. Instead, he silently stepped back into an area covered by sunlight.

The sinks in the Teaching Building’s restrooms were not inside but in a public area, complete with a mirror above and an air vent next to the men’s restroom.

"Wei Liang" stood by the air vent, looking at Lin Yi like a soulless husk. It opened its mouth dumbly, yet no sound came out.

It looked significantly off, and Lin Yi’s subconscious immediately cast serious doubts on its "Wei Liang" identity. So, he made no response, simply standing in the sunlight to maintain a sense of safety and shifting his gaze away from it.

"When did the problem start this time?" Lin Yi furrowed his brow, recalling the recent images, "When did the layers fall... hmm, is this a layer-fall issue?"

Apparently not.

If it were a fall in the layers, accompanying issues like visual destruction of light and shadows, or auditory experiences of calling winds and waves, should have been encountered, none of which he had experienced.

"Could it be ’ordinary’ phantom vision, which made my gaze penetrate the layers again and see something I shouldn’t have?"

"But why the hell does it look like Liangzi?"

"He’s not Wei Liang, definitely not," Lin Yi shook his head inwardly, affirming the thought.

As expected, once he was certain about his thoughts, the "Wei Liang" behind the air vent started to deflate like a balloon, its features writhing chaotically, eventually turning into a lump of abstract mush.

It slowly retreated into a dim corner, and then, as if melting into the darkness, vanished...

With its disappearance, Lin Yi’s vision, which had been somewhat dim, seemed to become much brighter, as if clouds had drifted away from the sun, casting light back upon the dreary land.

Lin Yi felt as though he had "sensed" its departure. He looked up at the air vent and caught a glimpse of it just before it completely vanished—a white, writhing liquid creature.

If likened to the Terminator’s metallic liquid robot, the form of that "Wei Liang" when it could no longer maintain its shape reminded a bit of a "plaster liquid humanoid creature."

Even so, Lin Yi wasn’t certain that it could be defined as a "creature."

"Damn it!" he couldn’t help but curse inwardly, "What on earth was that thing?!"

"When I thought it was Liangzi, it looked like him. As soon as I was sure it wasn’t Liangzi, it couldn’t even maintain a human shape!"

"Could it be some kind of layer creature that anchors its ’form’ based on my ’cognition’?" Lin Yi speculated, coining two conceptual terms. The emergence of these terms felt too smooth, as if they weren’t struck by sudden inspiration.

This precise ability to name seemed more like something Tian Bufan would exhibit for convenience while dealing with matters...

Narrowing his eyes, Lin Yi took a deep breath. While silently reciting his name, student number, and "Liangzi is in the restroom," he stepped back into the men’s restroom and looked towards the urinal where Wei Liang had been.

However, Wei Liang was nowhere to be found.
