Chapter 182: Chapter 84: Pure White Sculpture (Extra 1000 words for Meow!)_2
After finishing, he slammed the bathroom door shut and after a short while, cleaned up and returned to his bed, then contentedly raised his eyebrows at Lin Yi, "Good night, Old Lin."
Lin Yi: "..."
"Good night."
Before the echo faded,
Kuai Hongji and Wei Shan silently pulled back their covers.
It was one thing for Wei Shan, who had been staring at the ceiling all along without sleep, but for Kuai Hongji, who had fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, to also get out of bed was truly the most outrageous.
"Isn’t... Wei Sang, Kuai Kuai, you guys aren’t sleeping either?" Lin Yi’s mouth fell open.
Kuai Hongji coldly said, "Listening to your routine was quite amusing."
"Hehehe, yes," Wei Shan rarely made a sound similar to Kuai Hongji’s.
During the interval when Wei Shan and Kuai Hongji went to the restroom, Tian Bufan, after lying down, called out to Lin Yi, who was queuing for the restroom, "Old Lin."
"Hmm?" Lin Yi turned around.
"Think carefully... what do you want to do."
"Ah?"
"Think about it, there’s plenty of time, but also not so much," Tian Bufan finished speaking, covered himself with his blanket, and began to sleep on his own.
"Hmm..." Lin Yi fell silent for a moment, his eyelids slightly drooping as he looked at the floor.
"..."
"Alright, I will."
After everyone had finished using the restroom, the time reached 11:47 PM, with only 13 minutes remaining until lights out.
During this period, Lin Yi also checked that all doors and windows were closed and locked.
...
May 7, X023, 11:47 PM.
Lying in bed, Lin Yi checked the time on his watch and wall clock, then covered himself with the blanket.
Just before he was ready to sleep, he took one last look around the dorm room.
The darkness under the door seemed like a viscous layer of pitch, and the window glass frosted over due to the night’s chill.
Through the window, the outside view was no longer visible, leaving only a forest-white backdrop, signaling the onset of thick fog.
"Sleeping, sleeping."
He closed his eyes, maintaining even breathing while slowly emptying his mind.
The dorm bed, uniquely designed, had a slight swaying feel, reminiscent of lying down to sleep on a ship’s deck.
May 7, X023, 11:58 PM.
"Hoo... hoo... hoo..."
The last member of dormitory 1414 entered dreamland.
"Tick tock... tick tock... tick tock..."
The wall clock above the door slowly swung, pushed by the hand of time, completing the final circuit of May 7th...
11:59:57 PM...
11:59:58 PM...
11:59:59 PM...
12:00:00 AM.
"Pop!"
The three incandescent bulbs in the dormitory blinked out simultaneously.
The entire room submerged into boundless darkness, leaving only the fog-covered window streaming with a dim gray light.
Suddenly, a dark shadow slowly peeked in from the top of the window, like a spider slowly hanging down.
Its facial contours gradually enlarged outside the window, and because it was so close, its face accidentally wiped off the moisture on the outer side of the glass.
A few strands of moonlight struggled through the fog-covered sky, and between the gaps of light and shadow, a pale, emaciated face tightly pressed against the outside window glass.
...
"Hoo... hoo... hoo..."
Lin Yi was awoken by the howling wind by his ear, feeling as though he was in the process of falling.
Beside him was fragments of clouds and mist, and he was plunging straightforwardly like a stick.
"Where is this...?"
He looked around, only to find nothing but fog everywhere.
"Where am I?"
"What am I doing?"
He tried hard to recall but could remember nothing.
Not only was he oblivious to the current situation, but he also had absolutely no memory of the events before.
He didn’t remember that he had already fallen asleep in the dormitory, and people dreaming often don’t realize they are dreaming.
Suddenly, the sensation of plummeting vanished, and he felt a solid sensation beneath his feet.
He subconsciously walked a few steps forward, and the fog visibly dissipated at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Continuing forward, he realized the ground beneath his feet was tiled uniformly, and he could hear a cacophony of sounds, like the growling of people, the collision of bodies, and the noisy struggle intermixed into one.
He found that the fog had completely cleared without him noticing, and his body was shrunk into a dark corner, observing everything around him.
In front of him was an all-too-familiar tiered classroom, where sports students in blue and white tracksuits and art students in yellow-green outfits were fighting against another group.
Some of the sports students were bare-handed, while others wielded baseball bats, fighting against humanoid creatures that appeared dead-like with blue-gray skin.
These humanoid creatures also wore art student attire, but continuously exhaled white vapors from their noses and mouths, as if mixing frost with hot steam.
When hit by the sports students, the impacted areas of these creatures instantly developed a web of fine cracks, and some were brutally smashed by baseball bats, breaking arms and legs directly.
The scene was bloody and violent, as if a group of irate students had mistakenly entered Shura Hell.
But the eerie part wasn’t the hell-like classroom, but that each individual present, whether sports students, art students, or those... seemingly inhuman beings, all had dazzling gold light bursting from their eyes.
"Is this... a classroom?"
Lin Yi’s mind was somewhat muddled, he had never seen this scene before, yet there was an extremely familiar sensation, as if someone had described it to him.
He subconsciously wanted to check his watch, but realized there was no watch on his wrist.
