An Angel Lives in the Academy -
Chapter 125: The Angel Who Trains (3)
Some superhumans could be bestowed with a blessing known as a title, based on their achievements.
For example, the first superhuman to achieve a Strength stat of 100 or more would receive the title ‘God of Strength’, or someone who saved tens of thousands of lives would receive the title ‘Savior’. And lastly, anyone who had all their stats above 10 would be given the title ‘All-Master’.
‘And among them, the All-Master title is…’
All-Master. Normally, stats are so precious and valuable that the proper strategy is to invest everything into the main stat or perhaps a little bit into a sub stat.
If they were to invest in various stats haphazardly, they’d be treated like a noob character in an RPG game.
‘That's why, in superhuman physiology and other related fields of study, they say it's important to focus on training a single stat.’
However, there are always those who don't follow the rules. Geniuses who can achieve in a few months what others take years of training to achieve, or those who had given up on being a superhuman and randomly distributed their stat points.
They could understand Strength, Agility, and Magic, but… there are fools who even invest in Esper Ability, a stat that’s useless without an Esper Power…
There was a special benefit for such fools.
[Title: All-Master]All your stats have exceeded 10, surpassing the average superhuman main stat. You are hereby awarded the honorary title of All-Master.
Title Effect:
Passive: Gain a talent buff in all obtainable fields.
Active: When the title is activated, gain Lv.1+ to all skills for 30 minutes.
That was the All-Master title.
As a result of Leffrey’s patience in raising his Esper Ability…
“…The All-Master title?”
The copied Leffrey, regaining his composure, slowly looked at the original Leffrey.
“Don’t you think I could get it too? I’m your perfect copy.”
“No, even then, you can’t.”
Leffrey shook his head, looking at his copy. The copy obtaining the All-Master title too? It’s impossible. Because…
“No matter how amazing Lecture Hall 0 is, it can’t copy Angelic Power.”
That’s right. Leffrey was able to raise his Esper Ability by consuming Angelic Power. Surely, if Angelic Power could be replicated through Lecture Hall 0…
‘Headmaster Iriel would have already shouted ‘Angelic Power is being replicated…!’ and be fighting the demon king.’
The only reason the copy could even mimic Leffrey’s Angelic Abilities was due to the strange system of Lecture Hall 0. The copy wasn’t actually using an angelic ability.
“I told you. I’m an angel. And you’re not.”
Leffrey confidently said to his copy.
“Still clinging to that stupid idea.”
The copied Leffrey, instead of being angry, just nodded as if it couldn’t be helped.
“Right, an angel.”
“…?”
The copied Leffrey’s hair began to darken. His bright, blonde hair gradually turned dark, and soon it becomes pitch black, swaying.
Leffrey could only look at his clone with surprised eyes, feeling a familiar fear.
‘Something, something dark…’
Leffrey felt that things were going wrong.
[Presence of Demonic power detected. Demonic power is being used.]
[The Demon King is pleased to see demonic power being used.]
And that ominous term, ‘demonic power’, had appeared.
“An angel wouldn’t do something like this, would they?”
[The Demon King is supplying demonic power.]
[The Demon King is supplying demonic power.]
[The Demon King is supplying demonic power.]
.
.
.
Messages quickly popped up. The copy, looking at the nervous Leffrey, smiled as if he was enjoying this.
“To borrow the power of the strongest being in this world… that’s something an angel wouldn’t do, would they?”
“You, are you crazy?”
“You’re the one that’s crazy. To think that you would fight against the world’s most powerful being when he’s offering you his support?”
The copy’s eyes gleamed red.
Black hair, red eyes. Although he had the same face as Leffrey, the copied Leffrey now had the same colors as the demon king.
‘I didn’t expect this…’
Leffrey, hiding his shock, shouted,
“How can I not fight when that powerhouse is trying to destroy this world? Are you a child? You’re going to like anyone just because they’re nice to you?”
But the copy wouldn’t stop.
“Yes, I *am* a child! I spent my entire life trapped under a sofa, never becoming a proper adult. I’m going to cling to anyone who’s strong, whether they’re a villain or whatever, and if that strong person wants to destroy this world, I’m all for it. I’m that kind of a bad kid.”
Thus, two parallel angels.
In the end, The strong always decide what's right.
“To think that something like you is my copy...”
“Don't act so surprised. I *am* you.”
The two angels took to the skies. The sky was always an angel’s battlefield. Martial Arts of the Archangel Who Tramples Dragons and the Light of the Ruling Archangel That Illuminates the World, they were abilities designed for aerial combat.
This was a true angel’s battle.
The two boys faced each other in the air.
They would intercept each other with Light of the Ruling Archangel as soon as they created some distance, and then, as they got close, they would fight with Martial Arts of the Archangel and Cheongu Swordsmanship, and when they were far, they would use Klein’s magic.
And such flexible movements were always accompanied by the techniques of Fairy Martial Arts.
They would counter each other's spells with the same magic. When those spells collided, creating a massive cloud of smoke, the two boys would charge through the smoke.
Their left hands aimed for each other's guards, while the Flabellum held in their right hands aimed for each other's chests.
The Flabellum and its copy clashed, showering white sparks and screeching as they cut.
“Take back those words about wanting to be an angel. A naive creature like that is bound to be betrayed and killed in the end.”
“Kugh…”
Their hands trembled. His own Flabellum gradually being pushed back towards his chest, and the guard of his left hand was slowly giving way due to the difference in their strength.
‘He’s stronger than me. Even with the All-Master title…’
Leffrey felt his chances of winning dwindle.
“This world is cruel, it’s dark. The direction this world is heading is cruel and dark. What's so wrong with living as a cruel and dark being in a world like this?”
“Yes, that’s right, but…”
Perhaps to think only about oneself, to discard those foolish acts of kindness that made others call you a pushover, perhaps living a life of pure self-interest was the right way.
After all, every human is a descendant of a murderer. However…
“Just because you say that, doesn’t mean it’s right!”
But it ultimately, was a bad thing. An act that would inflict wounds upon the soul, a sin that would taint this world, a tragedy that would bring about an eternal night.
“I am an angel. No, I’m a guardian angel.”
A guardian angel is someone who protects. Leffrey looked at the copy with determination.
“So I want to protect.”
“You're just picking the right words to say, spouting righteous words you don’t even believe in.”
Black light began to gather behind the copy’s head.
“I bet your speech patterns changed after saying all those angelic things for Angelic Power.”
“Hmph, think whatever you want.”
Then Leffrey also began to concentrate Light of the Ruling Archangel, consuming Angelic Power.
“You shouldn’t say things you don't even believe.”
Light and dark light collided.
And naturally, the one that was pushed back was Leffrey's bright light. In a world close to destruction, the light karma could never overpower the dark karma.
“We'll always have nightmares for the rest of our life.”
Leffrey quickly raised his guard, but both of his forearms ended up completely scorched.
“We’ll be alone forever.”
The copy delivered a drop kick to Leffrey who was enduring the pain. The kick, amplified by gravity, created a sonic boom as it headed towards the ground, then…
…Smashed into the ground along with Leffrey.
“And we’ll be in pain, forever. So we have to make this world pay.”
Leffrey, in his fading consciousness, recalled a few things.
“Now, I’m the real one. Just like when I first woke up, I’ll live for myself, doing whatever I want.”
His two arms were broken; his Angelic Power was almost nonexistent because he had used it all to raise his stats. Even his back, injured from hitting the ground, had lost all sensation.
‘I don’t think I can even get up…’
There are times during extreme training, when you feel like you can’t get up.
‘I’m sleepy…’
When you want to give up on everything, when you just want to let go, and when your instincts take over, and you just want to sleep.
“Then sleep here forever.”
But overcoming those moments is the true purpose of extreme training. To overcome yourself.
Leffrey twitched,
And barely managed to sit up.
“Hey, stop.”
“…You’re still not giving up?”
Leffrey looked at his dark copy with a cold attitude, being serious.
“I'll honestly admit it. That you are the dark part of my heart.”
“What’s the point of admitting it now?”
“I hate this world, too. I have a lot of people I hate. I want revenge too. And I’m full of selfish thoughts.”
The black Leffrey shook his head and muttered,
“It’s too late.”
“But the feeling I have, that I want to protect those girls, is real.”
Leffrey stood up on trembling legs. And he activated the Sanctus on his hand.
“Because I want to protect, I'm a guardian angel.”
His strongest technique, a technique he had sealed after using it once because of its severe side effects.
“Because I want to live as a guardian angel, I'm an angel.”
[Title: Guardian Angel of the Genius Witch Activated.]
[Title: Guardian Angel of the Young Half-Dragon Activated.]
[Title: Guardian Angel of the Cat Hero Activated.]
To overcome yourself,
Sacrifice is inevitable.
He would compensate for his lack of Angelic Power by grinding down his levels.
Sacrifice, more sacrifices.
‘The Black Leffrey is full of selfishness. He’ll never use a technique that involves sacrifice. Then…’
And so, Leffrey made a decision.
“Are you crazy?! Giving up precious levels. And on top of that.”
The copy, realizing what was happening, looked at Leffrey and pointed, a note of panic in his voice.
“Even though you almost completely lost your body to Leffriel last time… You’re going to use an even more powerful technique?!”
“I trust Leffriel.”
“You idiot! You could be completely taken over! Then we’ll disappear!”
It was a possibility.
Leffrey’s Ultimate Technique, ‘Time of Bonds’, was so powerful that it could obliterate his mind.
And now, even stronger because he had acquired a title related to Hongwol, and on top of that… to activate it in this weakened state…
Leffrey’s mind might disappear.

[The duration of 'Guardian Angel of the Young Half-Dragon' title is changed to 1 minute!]
[The duration of 'Guardian Angel of the Cat Hero' title is changed to 1 minute!]
“It doesn't matter if I disappear.”
Leffrey wore a determined expression. His hands and feet trembled, but seeing that arrogant copy also trembling brought him a small sense of joy.
“Then, Time of Bonds…”
“Stop…!”
The black Leffrey shook his head.
But Leffrey didn’t stop.
“Activate.”
